I work for a financial services firm, got my 7 and 66 and help people with their stocks. So far so good. But how do I take it to the next level? They do have analyst positions at my firm so I might take that up and see if I can transfer abroad. If that does not work I might try and get experience with the company and either start my own firm and transfer. Barring that I have been doing well with trading and if I can pay off my house and buy a cheaper place overseas, I might just retire off the dividend if returns are decent on my portfolio. (up 250% this year). Any one have experience advancing with a financial services firm?

It's nice niche - working in financial services. It's really reliable now in my opinion. But if they don't want to promote you ( despite your high results in their firm) it means only one thing - they don't value you. It's much more better now, during the pandemic situation and remote work to make your own business, especially when you have enough knowledges in financial niche. I live in Ohio and recently started cooperation with https://instant-loans-usa.com/usa-payday-loans/ohio payday loans finance service wich seems pretty good option to make money nowadays.

Of course, it is a great idea to start your own business. I think you will do it. Just make sure you have enough knowledge and skills for that. By the way, you can use the Jooble platform https://jooble.org/jobs/West-Palm-Beach%2C-FL . It allows a fast and proven workers search. So, you will be able to build a team of professionals who will work on you. I have found lots of jobs in Indiana there.
