To be honest you don't necessarily save money by growing your own veggies. It depends how much stuff you need to buy to start off with. But even if you are completely self-sufficient and make your own fertiliser etc, you will still be lucky to break even. It depends what crops you grow. You can't produce onions or potatoes for cheaper than the supermarkets sell them, that's a guarantee.

Home grown veg are much better quality and taste though.

Can that really work? I have tried doing something similar to that but it is just too hard to not think about stuff.

The only thing I find comes close to working is finding something to distract myself. But that is quite hard since I get no joy out of anything any more.

To avoid upsetting thoughts and flashbacks at night I have taken to keeping my mind busy by playing out various fantasies in my head. Sometimes I will be a character from a book, or sometimes I roleplay in my head as a celebrity answering a reporters questions and talking about my celebrity life.

I think this has damaged my sanity though since before sleep I am in a sort of fevered fantasy zone instead of relaxed.
