As Yule grows closer, I wanted to honor Odin with a feast of horse meat as our ancestors did but the christian taboo against eating horse is making it very difficult to find, especially in burgerland. Have any of you found any good butcheries that sell horse in the US?

what part of the us are you in? I'd imagine telling you about a place i Texas when you live in Oregon wouldn't be helpful

Good point. I'm in northern Florida, but really any butchery in the US would be better than getting the meat shipped overseas from the UK or elsewhere abroad.

Just sacrifice something that is possible to obtain like chicken or cow, the Gods will still appreciate your gift. We can't have everything our way yet, but SOON.

The traditional meat used for (the german food) sauerbraten was horse before the conversion. Obviously, since it's so hard to find, I'm not going to be regularly eating horse, but I thought it'd be a good gesture to my ancestors and the Gods to consume horse for Yule.

In several countries here in Europe it's pretty common.

The French eat horses at lot, for example

There's no Christian taboo against eating horse. There may be more of a common sense taboo against eating horses in agrarian societies in which your horse is the single most valuable thing you own.
