Nope! Just like the early Romans were not civilised, the Macedonians and the Dorians as a whole were not civilised, the Iranian peoples who conquered Iran were not civilised, the Indo-Aryans who conquered India were not civilised and the nationalists who will destroy the global community are definitely NOT civilised! Christians, on the other hand, are VERY civilised.

northern europe was a lot more thinly populated back then, most people lived in smal communities and on homesteads. no big cities like rome but there were certainly places that could be seen as predecessors of towns.
