If you're asking something /asatru/ relevant in "What group of arch-heathens am I associated with if I'm of French heritage?", the answer is obviously the Franks. I remember seeing something about someone who was reconstructing old Frankish cosmology and practice, but how much you feel the need for something specifically Frankish over something pan-Germanic is wholly up to you.
If you mean the tangentially relevant to /asatru/ question of "What pre-Christian cultural group should I most associate with if I'm of French heritage?", I won't tell you to avoid Frankish (or more broadly Germanic) reconstruction, but might suggest that the Gallic religion might be worth a look as well; it might feel more appropriate for you.
