Let me start off by saying that I have been with this board for about 2-3 years now. You guys were what pushed me to give up Christianity and become an Asatruar.
I know that everyone here has had their fill of Slav-spamming, but the thread on Rodnovery got me thinking. I am 50% Polish, the rest is a mix of Irish, Scottish, English and I-talian, so I guess it's fair to say I'm mostly Slav. I've felt uncertain since I became Heathen about whether I should be in Asatru seeing as I don't have much overtly Germanic blood (without doing a DNA test). So I did a runecasting.
My question was "Should I forgo Asatru and take up Rodnovery?" and here were my runes:
Hagalaz
Jera
Perthro
Hagalaz symbolizing catastrophic growth and evolution, I took it to mean the point at which I formally left Christianity and became a Heathen. Jera symbolizing cyclical developments, I thought pertains to my current situation; remaining pagan but whatever comes out of this, my faith will be affected in some way. The final rune is at once the most blatant and the most unclear. It means an omen or change, but it also means chance or the dice cup.
So far, as the magic 8-ball says, "Signs point to Yes". However, the Perthro rune is unsettling to me, especially with its implications of the dice cup and the runester testing fate.
So I turn this question over to my fellow /asatru/-ars all 10 of you to see if you can make any sense of what I've found. Even you lurkers, come out of the woodwork and make yourselves heard.
"Slavs don't exist" and the Rodnovery-Asatru combining guys, you're not invited. This is a serious question and I don't need you guys wasting everyone's time with your shitposting.
TL;DR - Unsettled Heathen makes runecasting as to whether he should take up Rodnovery; all runes symbolize change
