so are any of you guys doing this? i fill the requirements by default already (though exercise could be more) and it seems a good idea for people who don't

 No.11491

Well I'm doing nofap but i have relapsed (porn) since he made that video so i guess i failed that part. Not that i wont keep trying nofap. Strength training 5 days a week just isn't viable for me. Maybe it would be if your muscles are very well trained, or if you were on roids, or had a gym membership and focused certain muscle groups with weights. I just work out at home and most of my stuff is bodyweight (Besides a 20kg kettle bell) and uses lots of muscle groups. Also getting a cold ATM so i probably shouldn't exercise.

I usually read an article a day anyway, but whether i gain anything from reading them is another matter.

Stronglifts 5x5 only requires 3 days a week. Used to do it myself til I hurt my back at work lolz might get back into working out but probably taking it slower and making sure my core muscles are honed before I do any strenuous workout routines.

Been thinking of starting this but damn, gym memberships are expensive. I have access to a gym at my university but I only start the semester in a month, and I wanted to start before school so it wouldn't be too difficult to keep it up during it. I wish I had a home gym

>getting a cold

Disgraceful.

>take a vitamin C pill every morning

>Drink water + Apple cider vinegar + honey + ginger

>End every shower with a couple minutes of cold water

Literally never get sick again

 No.11512

I'm healthier than 95% of people in the west today, you can't help getting a cold if your family has all caught it.

I have cups of tea (Water) every couple of hours, i drink orange juice with almost all of my meals. Occasionally i have cold showers. Doing all those things doesn't make you some kind of god you autist.

Anyway can we call him golden one instead of Latsbrah, he changed his online name and latsbrah sounds pretty gay IMO.

Calisthenics are great and very underappreciated. Don't fall into the meathead philosophy, anon. It really depends on your goals. But for overall great fitness and health, a gym won't be necessary. Look at any Roman/Greek statue. That's basically the physic calisthenics will give you. Since that's were it all originated from.

This guy has an awesome channel dedicated to only bodyweight training. He's also Greek, funily enough…https://www.youtube.com/user/HomeMadeMuscles

>That's basically the physic calisthenics will give you

Wrong. The Greeks lifted, faggot.

>A block of red sandstone weighing 143.5 kg was found at Olympia, with the carved inscription "Bybon son of Phola, has lifted me over [his] head with one hand." The stone has a section carved out as a hand grip.

Ofcourse they did. Among many other things. I lift heavy objects as well as doing calisthenics, it just so happens that i like calisthenics more. My point still stands. You really don't need a gym if you want to get stronger and more fit. Except if you want to become a bodybuilder. Then there's really no way around the gym, obviously.

Gotta say brotien shake, that's bretty wrong. If you want classic "Greek aesthetics/proportions" (like the statues), you need a chest circumference 252% of your wrist circumference. That pretty much can't be done with natural calisthenics.

Pic 1 is a 1920's gymnast. That's basically what pure calisthenics will get you. Pic 2 is a US gymnast at 2012 Olympics; probably mixing training with lifting, very advanced training techniques, and maybe "pop tarts".

Do you Broseidon, but for anyone who wants to get big and strong ASAP, SL 5x5 and Starting Strength 4 lyfe

Physique-wise, both pics look about the same, with the exception of the 1920's guy covering with a shirt.

>SL or SS

These are troll routines designed to make you look like a fat tyrannosaurus rex. Do SS if you must, but move on to something more balanced as quickly as possible.

Thanks, anon, I didn't know about this.

About the ability to focus, it could be of your interest something called the "Pomodoro Technique".

Also not that guy; I think SS is better than SL but both are fine for a novice lifter. Never did it myself but I think that Greyskull LP looks better than SS; give it a look online, should be easy to find the program for free without having to buy the book. SS the book is probably worth a read to learn about the lifts themselves and to learn about programming even if you don't do the SS beginner program.

Random point: I personally feel like unless you want to compete in powerlifting, you should probably bench press less than you think you should and OHP (though I'd rather we just called it "press") more than you think you should. Bench press is good to do some of but it's less useful for building general useful strength and athletic ability than overhead pressing, as well as being far more likely to stress/injure your shoulders, elbows, and wrists in training it. Competitive powerlifters obviously have to bench a ton to get good at it, but people just seeking bigger pecs can do the less joint-stressful DB bench press instead and people just looking to get stronger/healthier/better should be focusing on overhead pressing anyway.

Take SS, reduce the squautism, do more than 1 set of deadlifts per week (your CNS can handle babby's first 2pl8 deadlift just fine, you don't have to puss out here). Don't do cleans unless you've had formal instruction. Add Scooby's routine over the top of it, excluding the lower body lifts and the core stuff.

Follow the general advice for programming in the book. Ignore the diet advice. If you sit around a lot for work and spend most of your free time sitting in front of the internets, try to do more pulls than pushes. And do as much cardio as you do lifting.

There you go, a pretty solid program right there.

 No.11669

Starting working out again. Not doing SS currently trying to fix the damage to my back and strengthen my core muscles been doing more cardio too riding a bike.

Not a workout program, but good for evaluating your strengths and weaknesses, as well as goal setting
