Seriously, I'm getting real fucking tired of people getting driven away from the faith because Cletus from South Carolina wants to pretend he's an ebin vikingses. Stop pretending like you are going to "destroy christianity and take back europe just like adolb hidler!!!". We need to do what our ancestors couldn't, organize, and actually work out a plan to take back europe from the muslim hordes and eventually replace christianity in our homeland. We can't just sit around lurking on 8chan talking about the jews and how we're going to start a commune or something. Hell, we can't even do what Varg did and isolate ourselves from society. We need to actively shill on other boards and websites, attracting and converting people. We need to arm ourselves and wait until the time is right to strike Europe. Take up arms, lose some weight, ditch the cargo pants and a band t-shirt and get ready.

You're just trading one larp or another. No one here is going to take back Europe from the Muslim horde, and shilling will just make us more hated. Varg has it right, the best way to resist is to make white babies and slowly rebuild our folkway. He may partially isolated and homeschool his kids but he obviously still has internet and interaction with society. He's in rural France, not Antarctica.

We've been trying to get something like this going over Tox. So far it has amounted to nothing.

I'll stick around and post, but I am not holding my breath for some great Heathen revival movement to arise from 8chan/asatru/. I'm focused on my goal to get to the AFA and that's that.

Also, your shilling on /pol/ actually did attract me. Although the LARPing does drive me away indeed.

I wouldn't phrase it like this. Most ancestors we know were absolutely Christian. You mean my ancestors 700 years ago? Oh yeah, good people!

This is the right answer in my opinion. You're most likely not going to convince anyone by shilling. We don't have enough people to do much organized activism, and frankly there's a lot of retards in this "movement". The best thing you can do is honour the gods, be a good person and raise a good folkish family away from this degeneracy. If you have 4 kids who you raise well, they have 4 children each, in a couple of generations you have potentially hundreds of healthy, honourable heathens roaming around.

In the meantime I'd suggest just working on becoming a person worth looking up to, and making sure that when people bring up your beliefs you are ready to stand for them and argue coherently if necessary. But again, argumentation isn't too persuasive. Lead by example.

I'm starting to think everybody's just LARPing. Not just pagans.

Christian LARP really hard every day. Atheists LARP as Captain Picard. Mudslimes LARP as the great Tamerlane or whoever, even though most of them are insufferable cowards.

Everybody's fucking LARPing.

If by LARPing, you mean "being half-ass about one's beliefs" then you're absolutely right. The vast majority of people behave in a generic middle of the road "get along to get along" manner, to the point that their subcultural or religious affiliations might as well be costumes and role-play..

Movements are ultimately defined by the 1% that are fanatics.

This person is right but I dont think he really understands how much hes right

Humans are basically in a slowly advancing decay of LARPitis that will continue until all our religions are reduced to meaningless circuses for fools to prance around in and the myths and gospels are only vaguely remembered by a small population, until the Kali Yuga comes and brings about the end of the world (srsly this is one of the predictions of the Kali Yuga, that humanity will gradually forget the old religions with time and become more atheistic and willing to fall into foolish beliefs)

Unfortunately its right in the sense that part of it is inevitable; look at how much has been forgotten about our religion in 1000 years because of Christ's doing. Look at Christ himself; most of his followers have never read the whole New Testament, let alone the Bible, and probably think "Apocaphyra" and "Nicean" are fantasy words.

Everyone's faith is decaying because humanity is decaying, and will continue until Kalki comes to cleanse the filth and leads Aryans into a new golden age.

Not that there is nothing we can do to save our faith, we can at least try to shake off some of the foolish wiccans and retards and make Heathenry a respectable religion, but all that means nothing if we cant save our race in the coming wars.

kek no but Hinduism is beat for beat identical to Western Paganism in the older books, read the Mahabharata and Rig Veda if you want to know what I mean

It describes the Aryans as gods coming to conquer India from black skinned demons, they bring their traditions of horse sacrifice and alcohol drinking and establish the caste system putting Aryans at the top

The creation myth in Hinduism describes the Gods taking a giant and sacrificing him, dismembering him to make the different parts of the world and using his blood to make the seas

its obviously worth studying, and the Kali yuga is only a more detailed description of the Ragnarok

> Brothers will fight

and kill each other,

sisters' children

will defile kinship.

It is harsh in the world,

whoredom rife

—an axe age, a sword age

—shields are riven—

a wind age, a wolf age—

before the world goes headlong.

No man will have

mercy on another

>O learned one, in this iron age of Kali men have but short lives. They are quarrelsome, lazy, misguided, unlucky and, above all, always disturbed.

>Consequently they sometimes do not hesitate to have sex with their sisters. In this age of Kali there are many instances of such incest and deprivation.

Where can I hear more about these similarities?

I know basically nothing about Aryans either.

Also, if Hinduism and Asatru are related, do you think the concept of there being only one god and the multiple deities are just facets of the one god is true for Asatru as well? Or was ancient Hinduism more hardline polytheism than the modern Hinduism?

You just sorta start to notice it if you read both Hindu texts and North myth comparatively, trust me most of its pretty obvious. The fire god Agni is identical to Heimdall, literally every detail of his origin story and appearance is the same. He was born to 9 mothers at the edge of the ocean, has whitest skin with golden teeth, and lives on the edge of the gods realm to receive sacrifices (In Agnis case) or protect the world (as with Heimdall)

specifically, the aryans were the group of Indo-Europeans that invaded India. Hitler and other europeans used the term for the indo europeans in general though so sometimes it gets confusing. they were our immediate cousins, basically, white people originated in central asia, 1 group migrated to Europe and became modern Europeans, one group went to the middle east and created the empires of Babylon, Assyria and Illyria (along with many other groups speculated to be Aryan, Akkad claimed to be the Son of Aryans in several speeches and texts) and the last group went to India and conquered the Dravidians.

IIRC the idea of pantheism in Hindu cosmology is fairly recent, the old Aryans viewed the gods as being pretty independent. However the idea isnt really unique; several greek and roman philosophers, most notably Marcus Aurelius. described the gods and "God" interchangeably, and believed all gods were merely aspects of one greater being, in the same way all living creatures on earth are merely part of a greater whole.

I dont really see why it wouldnt be compatible with Asatru, it just seems like another way of looking at it to me. I dont think it matters in the long run, its kinda like the traditional Nicean view of the trinity (God is the holy spirit, the father and the son, while these individual parts do not overlap on their own) compared to the Arian view (God is the holy spirit, the father and the son, but each of these entities is unique and works on their own to achieve their purpose, the Son and the Holy Spirit are both inferior and created by the Father)

Question as an onlooker:

Do practioners wear silly robes often in asatru or is that more a wicca thing?

While most religions institutions on earth have a dresscode for their priests, standartised due to old and rich traditions, devotees often only carry mundane cloth but for the assecoirs that are demanded by scripture or oral transmission.

Both things norse polytheism lacks in this regard.

Hindus put a shawl on their shoulders or paint their bodies as according to similar unbroken lines of transmission, christians and muslims along other faiths simply dress as modest as seen in their country and bhuddists often settle for a simple white shirt.

Everything has meaning or tradition behind it.

Now, some new religions such as cao dai manage to pull of a religious dresscode not anymore garish or based on individual attentionwhoring then their neighbooring religions from whom those customs were taken.

Then there are neopagans.

While I understand that a priestrobe is wished for because people in general crave some visible thing of eeligious authority Ive seen a lot of weird Larpery in the net with people painting leaves on their faces, wearing stuff befitting to medieval reenactment play…

Why? Just think how weird it would be if protestants would start to wear15th century cloth in the church because that was the latest fad during luthers time, or shinto japs dressing up as samurais/edo peasants before going to the temple.

I think, that a community should totally wear special clothes to spiritual occasions. They would be unfashionable and kind of weird since anti-modernism is a key point in Asatru in my opinion and should be made by oneself. There is no need for Larpery-tier reenactment though, since it isn't honest to the cause.

Usually only gothar wear robes for rituals and the ones ive seen looked professional and accurate to history (they really dont look too difference from Christian white robes, but with a red mantle)

If you wear a robe daily or during rituals youre probably trying too hard

>Both things norse polytheism lacks in this regard.

maybe because you dont read enough history, theres multiple descriptions of how the druids, gothar and beserks dressed. Whites robes seem to be the most common feature among pagan priests, while animal masks and skins were also common among the barbarian cultures (norse, celt, scythian, etc)

most depictions of pagan priests in media are stupid, over the top or based on nonwhite crap. the gothar in Vikings@History are probably the worst example of this. Based on the descriptions of the sagas they just seemed like old men with beards and white robes. Face paint was more associated with war than religious rites in Germanic paganism, no evidence they did face painting for that either. And even then there arent really any detailed descriptions of Germanic or Celtic warpaint; we know the Celts wore blue and mostly used geometric and stripe patterns, the Germans used black and green but descriptions vary (the romans said they covered their whole bodies in black warpaint and attacked at night, the arabs claimed the vikings had green dragon tattoos on their arms)

But as Ive said, these were all warriors, not priests.

I dont think there's any detailed descriptions of their hairstyles or beards either, although I sorta assume they would have had a dresscode for that since nearly every other religion requires one for their priests. We know Germans and norsemen sometimes knotted their hair or forked their beards but its unclear if it had a religious meaning, it seemed to be more a symbol of tribal heritage or rank.

This is an essential truth to heed.

I'm not acting like my people of the old times but I am studying their ways and knowledge to keep them alive in me and my proginy, adapting them to our situation.

As for dressing. Wear well-presenting clothes:

-One, maximum two colours per item

-Minimal (small logo) to no graphics

-Wear classic European styles:

Cardigans, polos, well-fitted jeans and shorts, proper quality boots, boating shoe-types, good warm winter jackets.

There is power and beauty in certain minimalism. Fitting is important.

It all comes from the older indo-european religion/cultural structure.

The idea of a pantheon of human-like dieties is a central feature of these religions, as is the idea of cyclical time (ragnarok/kali-yuga) and birth/death/rebirth cycles on the basis of each day/year/lifetime/ages. The core structure of the relationships and functions of the gods is also very similar.

There's no point in trying to take over a rotten civilization. You just have to let it die and start fresh which you can only do within the confines of your own life. There isn't much point in actively proselytizing like a Christfag or a Muslim, even Jews know that's no tactic at all.
