Is there such a thing as the ultimate creator in Asatru thought? Do you think there was any thought at the time behind what made Audumbla, for example?

Or is Odin the closest that we get to a "creator"?

>Is there such a thing as the ultimate creator in Asatru thought?

No. Most religions recognize an "ultimate creator" as the tautology it is.

 No.11034

There is no one true creator in Pagan religions (unless you count the Demi-urge, but thats different from Germanic Heathenry)

Christshills will tell you this makes paganism weak but its because they dont understand the difference between the two. Paganism believes the universe is a kind of ordered chaos, there is no creator because there doesnt need to be. The universe sorts itself out naturally and doesnt need to be created or destroyed; it creates, destroys and rebirths itself. The Gods and Demons are merely the instruments of this process, the cogs in the machine

If you really want to know the difference between Christianity and paganism. Christianity worships the whole clock and considers opening it a heresy, paganism worships every cog and considers closing it a heresy

Neither is really better or worse in the end for the white man, I just prefer the pagan view

Depends on what you mean.

Humankind was created by Heimdallr.

How is "ultimate creator" a tautology? I read the definition of the word and I'm still confused.

 No.11050

Rhetorical tautology.

The question, "who created the universe" assumes the arguer's own conclusion. That is,

1. The universe needed to be created by something not in the universe.

2. Whatever it was that is not in the universe can be described as a "who."

the universe was created when eternal chaos gave birth to mortal order

Does "mortal order" imply that there is intelligent design?

For example, Odin and his Brothers breathed life into man. So were they involved in creating some of the order or design?
