What second language are you learning? What resource are you using?

Are you man enough to learn Dnghu? http://dnghu.org/

As far as Germanic languages go, I'm at a loss for which one I should learn. Afrikaans or Norwegian maybe.

As far as indo-european languages go, I'm interested in Dnghu, but also Sambahsa. The only thing I dislike about Sambahsa is the semitic and sinitic vocabulary in some very commonly used words. I guess it's meant to simulate contact with other language families in the cases where an Indo European word could not be determined.

Latin

Russian through uni.

A little Italian and Irish through Duolingo.

Russian is a really quality language.

Any pro tips on picking it up? Do you recommend memorizing grammar tables or just doing Pimsleur and just guessing your way as you talk more and more with natives?

Do Russians have the same gods / culture as northern europe? Or did it get pretty different over there?

German is my heritage language, too. Though my great great grandparents were the last to speak it daily.

What is the best Germanic language to learn? German is overly complex and the country is as cucked as can be anyway. Is old norse the proper way to go?

The fuck dude? If you are a native English speaker, I cannot think of a living language easier to learn than German.

Just learn German, and then drift east, lol.

Dutch is supposed to be way easier to learn than German

 No.11128

>>11127

There's that much of a difference?

 No.11132

>>11126

>>11128

Yes, Dutch doesn't have "der/die/das/den" grammatical case.

Norwegian is probably the easiest for English speakers, but Norway is probably more cucked than Germany at this point.

I feel like the slavs are the only hope for the white race. The guy learning Russian has it right. Although, Poland has been really strong on the anti-kebabism too.

 No.11135

>>11132

Unfortunately slavs are very, very different from Germanics. They will probably save themselves (in so much as a country run by slavs is saved), but they won't save us.

 No.11140

>>11135

It's not about Slavs vs. Germanics. The, in this case cultural, divide is caused by American brainwashing. It simply didn't reach the east, which is coincidentally mostly Slavic. Prime example for that is middle Germany. It's far less cucked than the west, despite being Germanic.

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you’re referring to as slavs, are in fact, ruthenians/eastern germanic descendants of kievan rus, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, east nordids.

Slavs are not a race unto itself, but rather another component of the ethnogenesis of the scandinavian norse germanic people from the migration of the peoples and onward, made historically relevant by the kievan rus settlements in Gardariki by the norsemen who traveled down the Volga and founded both Russia and Ukraine before being christianized by the byzantine empire.

Many eastern germanics speak the artifical glagolithic church language invented by the greek monk Cyrill, which is where the term cyrillics stems from. Before that, they spoke old norse and revered pagan germanic gods.

All the so-called "slavs" are really descendants of eastern germanics. There is objectively no argument to be made against this historical fact.

Thanks for reading, and please refer to them as "eastern germanics" next time you make a "slav" post.

The Rus that you are talking about were nordics who conquered an existing group of people that were already there, and eventually were swallowed up into their gene pool (which happens often). They did not settle an empty land.

The people who were already there (the "slavs") had diverged linguistically and culturally from all other Indo-European groups by the early Bronze age (possibly even earlier). Cyrillic was just a lettering system they later adopted.

Butthurt slav detected. There is such a thing as slavic paganism. Have you tried looking into it? It must be more comfortable worshipping Perun than to photoshop Thor squatting and drinking radiator fluid in an alley.

Recently I was thinking about Afrikaans. Sort of a support for the people in South Africa.

But I guess plain old German is probably the best.

 No.11321

I'm learning Russian and started learning Danish, but mostly because it was the only course available to me concerning the north Germanic languages. I dropped Danish after I ran out of courses. Also the pronunciation is a complete mess. I'd rather learn Norwegian and hope the little Danish will eventually help me with that.

I already speak German and English.

 No.11323

Norwegian might seem easier, but nobody speaks bokmal or nynorsk from what I understand. Bokmal is like their Mandarin, but everyone speaks their own dialect natively.

Just what I've heard.

I learned a bit of German using duolingo and then continued learning through a module at university - German classes were a fucking welcome break between physics lectures - but already what little German I learned is rusting. I think I should get using duolingo again and/or get a couple of friends of mine who did German as part of their degrees to have suitably simple conversations with me in German. I think whichever Scandinavian language is considered the most "central" (I imagine Swedish?) could be good to learn, as at a certain point you could communicate with it in Denmark or Norway as well, maybe even the Faroe Isles, though I doubt in Iceland. Scandinavians tend to speak English so well, though, that I wonder if learning a non-Germanic language might be more useful. Russian, Mandarin, and Arabic are all good ones.

While plebbit is obviously overall, well, plebbit, there is a subreddit for finding internet pen-pals to practice languages with which I think is a pretty cool idea to be honest. I'd be tempted to give that a look.
