J.R.R. Tolkien’s Great Grandson Nicholas Tolkien is a Religious Jew

>The famous author J.R.R. Tolkien, author of The Hobbit, the lord of the Rings and more classics was known for his love for the Jews. The Nazi’s sent him a questionnaire wanting to know about his lineage and if it was ‘tainted with Jewish blood’. If he was a ‘pureblood’ with no Jewish lineage they would allow his books to be published in Germany. (Remember those shameful days?) He answered: “I understand you want to know if I’m from Jewish descent. I can only say that regretfully none of my forebears came from this gifted nation.”

>If he was pained not coming from Jewish descent he would now be pleased to know that he has two Jewish descendants and one of them is an observant Jew who keeps Shabbat and Kosher.

>This descendant that is garnering attention in the media lately is Nicholas Tolkien, a 27 year old playwright and director who produced a play currently being shown called ‘Terezin’ which describes life in the Theresienstadt concentration camp from the eyes of a child.

>Nicholas researched the Theresienstadt concentration camp for 5 years and he also visited there. He describes it as being “full of the ghosts of the past.” The play he wrote about girls in the camo that survived only because of their courageous friendship, is based on stories he heard firsthand from survivors who were children in the camps and on the book “There Are No Butterflies Here” which is a collection of poems and drawings from the children of the Theresienstadt ghetto from 1942-1944.

Disappointing.

Tolkien sounds like an absolute Anglo.

Just because you don't like it doesn't make it shitposting.

No he wouldn't. Tolkien was a traditional Catholic, so he wouldn't like his great grandson not being one too.

Soon Tolkien's Chosen progeny will sell his lifework to the bidder that promises to rape J.R.R's legacy the most. Fitting epitaph for someone who trusted the Jew.

I half expect that Tolkien's answer to that questionnaire was half out of spite against dirty krauts rather than actual love for jews. However, given his favorable depiction of Dwarves, the hairy, money hungry, not truly created by God but sort of accepted by him race that is desperate to reclaim a claimed ancestral homeland, yeah Tolkien clearly loved the jews. Given how religious Tolkien was, he probably would want his own descendants to hold the same beliefs as him, but he also probably wanted the jews to control Israel because that leads into the second coming of Jesus.

This. Tolkien fucking hated WWII and didn't think that either side was the good guys. He wasn't some crazed philo-semite who frothed at the mouth for the jews like some /pol/tards would have you believe, he was just butthurt about war and hatred in general. He decried propaganda that dehumanized Germans during the war and advocated forgiveness for Germany after the war, and he equated the outcome of the war to Saruman enslaving Sauron and wiping out the actual good guys. Even for his own time, Tolkien was a million times more sane than your average anglo.

Well, Tolkien was a traditional catholic. And before Vatican II, at the mass of the holy friday, there was a prayer :

>"Oremus et pro perfidis Judaeis"

>Which means "Let's pray for the perfidious jews"

So, since he was a traditional catholic and that ALL the catholic tradition is antisemite, his philo-semitism must be nuanced.

Moreover, it's hard to paint yourself as an antisemite when you have Hitler as an interlocutor since :

>"Hitler dishonored antisemitism" Georges Bernanos, catholic writer

Numerous have been those forced to change their antisemistic positions because of Hitler's stupidity. Because Hitler was financed by jews against other jews racially impure (mixed with polish and others), and denouncing Hitler is denouncing jews.

Whatever fondness Tolkien had for the Jews would probably have come from his knowledge of the historical role of Israel in relation to God; Jesus and the disciples as well as most Old Testament saints having been ethnic Jews. However as a Catholic he would have believed that the Israel of God was now found in the Catholic church. While ethnic Jews could perhaps be proud of having been the first ethnic nation God revealed himself to, practicing rabbinical Judaism (which branched off from Pharisaism) would not have been seen positively by him. I'm certain he would not see an Anglo converting to Judaism as a good thing.

How did Christopher fuck up so badly that hos son blandaed upp with a jewess? Was Christopher's divorce from his first wife her fault, or was he just less Catholic than JRR and got tired of her?
