if we take a crash course in rudeness by reading the wikipedia page, under the section that explains where rudeness may have utility, we learn that:

"Most rude speakers are attempting to accomplish one of two important instrumental functions: to vent negative feelings, and/or to get power."

since being rude in this context is clearly not going to bring any power, we can assume this person has negative feelings to vent.

try to be nice, i can ony imagine they've had a bad day, or something deeper is wrong.

scoff all you want but the Hanzo driving theory is sound when you consider both things engage almost identical parts of the brain, and damage to those parts of the brain would likely note a decrease in function for either. /case

and idk about labels like Marxism and the means of production and all that and maybe that makes me dumb, but the availability and ubiquitousness (yay I got to use that word) of technology will make it not only inevitable, but a benefit in almost every way to centralize and organize and administer control over populations.

if all my countless hours of consuming liberal media has taught me anything, I'd presume that the means of production refers to the organized process of the creation of goods. To create a certain level of complexity of goods, such as those that require materials that need to be imported or mined, or with elaborate assemblies such as cars or computers, one needs a certain level of cooperation and organization across many areas and between many companies... as opposed carving wooden figures from trees.

once that level of organization is achieved, it's almost always that some figure or figures have deligated a large proportion of these responsibilities to others. thus, the figures that set up the structure that allowed for these elaborate constructions end up in a place where they can simply reap the profits without working, worse yet, focus all their energies on expansion and monpolization. But they aren't exactly involved in the means of production itself at that point.

and in socialism, if I'm not mistaken, the people who got delegated the tasks would be the ones earning the rewards, and not the people who put themselves on the top of the pyramid who are no longer involved in the means of production. amiclose?

so let's think. Where could we have some sort of system that provides the people what they need, in lieu or a corporation or some industry producing classes of haves and have-nots, where the people are essentially viewed as owning the things themselves?

ownership is perhaps conveyed through taxes, where people can pool their resources and end up with things like the police, fire departments, correctional institutions, educational institutions, medical institutions, and instead of the sheer stupidity of having these things compete for having more money and trumping the competition, incentivizing shortcuts and corruption, these aspects of life are filled with tax funded, educated, and built structures that work for as many people as possible.

sure, there can be some minimal capitalism since I can't imagine a society at the moment that doesn't have some way to have some flow of money, but at least for the important things, you don't make them a dog-eat-dog top-dog sorta thing. And it's inevitable because it's more likely for a government to be super involved in doing all this, than some corporation working with the government, while still being independant of the government, while still being motivated to be corrupt and fighting for profit.

>the stuff that makes the things that get produced get produced

Like what you dense fuck? Do you know what makes things? Do you know who makes things? Do you know HOW to make "things?" The entire foundation of what you espouse was predicated on a time and notion wherein hard manufacturing was centralized and comparatively easy- But these days with surplus and privately owned machinery the waters get muddied more than a fair bit, so what are the means of production? Are they the lathe I turn a pull chuck on? I have a lathe I bought privately that's in my brother's shop, is THAT lathe also a means of production? How about the G-code I wrote for it to turn a given part; is that the means of production despite the fact that I wrote it all myself? What about the computer and program that interprets the G-code and feeds it to the machine? What about the home 3d printing craze that has made additive manufacturing a household capability that thousands engage in, are those the means of production too? You idealism is based in a non-specific utopian thought exercise that advocates VERY specific ends without designating specific beginnings. This is all also based in the people doing the seizing also knowing how to operate these machines which are actually somewhat complicated to even turn on; so are you gonna consider the KNOWLEDGE of their operation the means of production too and compel people like my coworker Ed to operate and then teach their use beyond his scope of knowledge? Precision in goals and method is important.

it's cool you know all that technical stuff and yes, just as the piece of wood and the instrument used to carve it into a spoon and the person doing the carving are all the means of production of the spoon, the technology and resources that go into the things you create I'd consider the means of the production of the things you produce. My idealism is based on the idea that we already have examples of industries and areas of life that were once super competitive and chaotic and were a capitalistic wild west, and are now controlled and centalized and monopolies for better or for worse.

Without saying specifically how it's going to happen, because it does seem to optimize everything in a way that only our current generation and future generations are going to be capable of

>the internet and instant data access and communication is barely a few decades old

makes me think that yes, things are going to becomes streamlined and centralized, so much that anyone new wanting to break into the field is better off joining things that are already established.

and at a risk of saying a point that doesn't make sense, I'd say the fact that you use technology that exists instead of making your own entirely from scratch is a point of evidence that solutions that are better become widespread and standard, and this point lends itself to the bigger point that even more efficient and better solutions will someday come along and replace these current ones we all have, so on and so forth and only decreasing in variety as we reach the limits of what is possible.
