http://archive.is/baAxO

>Alcon Television Group has partnered with Adult Swim and Crunchyroll to produce and distribute a new anime series inspired by “Blade Runner 2049.”

>“Blade Runner - Black Lotus,” as it will be called, will consist of 13 half-hour episodes. Details of the plot are being kept under wraps, but it is known that the story will take place in 2032 and will include some established characters from the “Blade Runner” universe.

>“I first saw ‘Blade Runner’ in 1982, at age 11,” said Jason DeMarco, SVP and creative director of Adult Swim on-air. “It has remained one of the defining films of my life. To be able to explore more of this universe, with the incredible talent we have on board, is a dream come true.”

>The series will be produced by animation studio Sola Digital Arts. Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama will direct all episodes of the premiere season, which will follow their current directorial work on the upcoming “Ghost in the Shell” series reboot. Shinichiro Watanabe will serve as creative producer. Watanabe previously wrote and directed the anime short film “Blade Runner Black Out 2022,” which served as one of three anime short prequels to “Blade Runner 2049.” Aramaki also worked on “Black Out 2022” in the art department.

>Adult Swim will have the worldwide rights to distribute the English dubbed versions of the series excluding Asia, and will air the English dubbed episodes of the series on its anime programming block, Toonami. Crunchyroll will handle worldwide streaming for its community of more than 45 million registered users and 2 million subscribers. Adult Swim and Crunchyroll are both divisions of WarnerMedia.

The first film is good, but I do think it's a bit overrated by those who recognize its worth.

>Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

Blade Runner is the pozzed version of Do Androids, owing its fame solely to Syd Mead's design and Vangelis' music.

In Do Androids, the message is the opposite: replicants can never be the same as humans, as life fees natural empathy toward other life. Which artificial humans lack and in fact mock: one of the high points of the story is a chilling scene where Pris tortures a spider in front of JF Sebastian.

There's actually plot holes in Blade Runner, because of the lore reversal. Have you ever noticed that the questions asked during the Voight Kampf test, are always about animals? Tortoise in the desert, calfskin wallet, wasp crawling up your arm. They're like that to measure empathic reaction to other life, not just emotional response.

Another one: JF Sebastian welcomes Pris in his home, which is a huge abandoned building, saying that he found it vacant so he just took it for himself. That doesn't make any sense in the overpopulated metropolis of the movie: it does in the book however, where the city is almost entirely deserted.

>a chilling scene where Pris tortures a spider in front of JF Sebastian.

Bullshit.

The crushing majority of humans opt to kill things they don't understand or trust, regardless of what it is or what it does. If it isn't a pet, it's wild, and if given the means, most people would wound and kill a wild creature out of fear even if it doesn't do anything to them. Bugs are the biggest example of this. Hell, we kill them with chemical weapons all the time (sprays, poison traps, etc.), how's that for brutality. Humans are 6 times more violent than any other animal on Earth for a reason.

Spiders help keep insects in check in one's house but almost nobody would cogitate letting them live once spotted.

None of that compares to the kind of shit humans do. You're too naive for your own good.

Remember Mengele? Unit 731? Rapes of Nanking? Holodomor? Organ/child smugglers? Government agencies and private military companies who don't need to follow any rule of law? Communism in general? Hell, that last one has the record of human deaths out of everything that has ever killed humans, over 10 million in less than 50 years, mostly through famine and torture. I don't think I need to mention all the kike-banker-caused-and-financed wars we've had since the colonial era, do I?

Humans hunt and can make whole species extinct for fun. Give me another animal that hunts for thrills to the point of exterminating an entire population of the animal it hunts. Better yet, give me another animal that enslaves other living beings. China alone would be enough to win this argument.

There's so much shit done and recorded by people in the dark web, dolphin fishhead onaholes will look like a joke to you.

Female hyenas wish they were as vapid as the feminist-infected society we're living in, that puts women in a pedestal and condemns men even when they're the victims of the opposite sex.

Also, what do you think people would do if rule of law and the prospect of imprisonment/execution came crumbling down in a disaster overnight? Answer truthfully.

You know so little.

Linking to a video of a capitalist kike isn't really a good idea when trying to substantiate the differences between the perceptions of guilt and deathtolls of National Socialism and marxism.

Also, while the Goebbels quote might appear real insofar as it was quoted in a New York Times article of the time, it isn't found in any of the contemporary German records of his speeches. And considering that Goebbels spoke on things which contradict the quote, which do have actual German records of, the likelihood of the quote being a blatant kike lie is very high.

>Ghost in the Shell is Blade Runner

No, not quite. They tackle completely different issues. Namely, GitS asks about the nature of human intelligence and consciousness and, as thus, whether it would be even possible to construct AI. GitS argues yes, and that there's nothing immaterial about the human mind.

Philip K.Dick's book, on the other hand, is for the most part concerned with the problem of human empathy. The question of AI and intelligence isn't even a main theme of the novel, it's the relation between conscience and what can be recognized as humanity.

GitS was inspired by the author's problems with the concept of immaterial human consciousness, that humans posses something special and metaphysical that distinguish us from any other life form.

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep was inspired by the memoires, confessions and testimonies of the people carrying out the Holocaust. Namely, if I'm not mistaken, K.Dick was specifically inspired to write it after reading some of Adolf Eichman's thoughts on his job exterminating the Jews.

GitS does borrow inspiration from Dick, but it's not DADES the Anime, it's its own thing. You have to remember, GitS was written and later animated back when Nips were capable of originality.
