Not really an issue when it does justice to the arcs it does adapt, unlike 2011 (with the except of Greed Island) and actually included the first chapter (as well as near unnoticable filler, consisting of 4 episodes total, whereas Madhouse wastes two episodes on recaps).

Eh, the character design only got bad in Greed Island and Hisoka looked pretty bad for a while at the start. I prefer its character designs to 2011's (with the exception of GI), as 2011 tries way too hard to be 'cute' with its designs (and 99 had Killua gain cat features in joke scenes).

I felt the 2011 was too tryhard when Kurapika kills Uvogin, with the black and white shit, and both before and after that everything is too bright.

I don't understand OPs/EDs. They're almost exclusively some variation of very upbeat electronic/rock and roll with high-pitched feminine voices. The worst thing about it is that it's present even in series with darker and more serious tones, and makes light of them, almost comedically so. They could at least use heavier riffs and slower tempo for grimdark series and manlier, more punchy songs for action-driven ones but it never changes. It takes away from the show and makes it look like a joke. I can't take them seriously.

I skip 90% of them, but ones like Jojo, mushishi, or kenzen robo daimidaler (which had such a fucking kickass opening it was a crime that the show was relatively mediocre) they tend to be pretty good. Though when they license some western song it's cheating, even if it's good.
