After completing my dream marriage simulator, I realized I had a loooong way to go for modeling. I learned a great deal about do's and dont's, basic topology, and most importantly, rigging properly. I'll be posting progress in this thread about my journey to becoming a good 3D cartoon modeler so I may start my next VR project with my wife Shinobu. As well as posting tips and providing insight to help others achieve similar results. I will be starting with posts I did not log since 9/30/17.

Is there an executable for GNU/Linux? Unity has an option to compile directly to GNU/Linux, however in my experience it is not always reliable, has it been tested? A GNU/Linux version would be very much appreciated.

Yeah in fact v0.1 and v0.2 had full linux versions. But after v0.3 i stuck to windows only since nobody uses linux for VR. Its also slow as balls on it.

As far as materials go i don't think you can do anything too exciting (in terms of quality) without access to normal/specular maps but i understand if you would want to keep it clean and easy to use.

So i've been messing around with 5.0 in desktop mode for a while now since i have no controllers for my ancient HMD, and bugs aside is it even possible to finish washing her hair? I managed to wash the top of her head but the individual strands doesn't seem possible with a mouse.

It's a bit sad that you're not considering the lewd side anymore, but I get what you mean. The rest of the details are surely far more fun to implement and develop than looping animations with keystrokes and you're on the spot regarding your criticism of VR porn. Besides most Illusion games (that end up feeling like busywork most of the time) I recall some other "game" from half-moon studios that was also an half-assed attempt at VR porn with plenty of shortcomings as well.
It's nice that someone at least is trying to make far more content than just sex scenes and an actual companion with some charm and personality, that's novelty as far as VR goes.
Monster Girl Island turned out to be quite a disapointment precisely because this whole aspect was missing from it, just walking from scene to scene to read the dialogue and enjoy the sex scenes instead of an island of cute monster girls you could interact with.
Hopefully you'll keep adding more and more features that make for really good intimate experiences, but I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll eventually feel like working on the lewd aspects again or at the very least keep it open source and someone else does.
You're an inspiration to every other agdg for actually making your dream reality and having a solid vision of what you want to make.

So i messed around a bit with the texturing, while making stuff transparent is easy enough i want to make it semi transparent to give it a wet or thin look, i know i can do the wet effect by just painting faint skin color but it would nice to have the option either way, plenty dresses have some semi transparency to it.
Maybe i'm missing some PNG format setting to allow for that but as far as i can tell the save settings i use in Photoshop do allow for semi transparency.
