lets be honest there isnt much to innovate. Contain smell, bulk efficiency, lower material footprint, capacity increase, fit better. Diapers aint gonna change dramatically. A pipe dream would be a new out of this word absorbent polymer.

This device is good only for a bedridden male, like someone in coma. Imagine if you're going to walk around with this, it would be super uncomfortable and leaky, unless it glues to your dick which would be even more uncomfortable.
Like >>93546 said, there's nothing much that can be improved regarding disposable diapers. Maybe some fancy materials can be used and it would end up being too expensive like an astronaut diaper.

the thing with those is that they are not very absorbent by regular diaper standards. They are optimized for zero-g and to be ultra light weight probably. Combine that with how few are made, and that probably explains their high price. If you can shave off 0.1 pounds at the cost of making the thing cost $800 more per unit, it is still currently economically viable to do so, in fact you will save your self about $200. Current payload cost to low earth orbit is in the realm of $10000 per pound or something. They also needed to make sure they are absolutely fireproof, and that they wont release any kind of respiratory hazard or something like that. Shit gets complicated in space fast. (no pun intended)
