I've seen a few t-shirts and some pins that people have worn that were pretty subtle.

Any advice on buying doujin? I was rereading an old favorite of mine (https://exhentai.org/g/376816/a976e5ef30/) and it was the first time I thought of maybe buying it. The next day I decided to poke through Mandarake and see if they had any PSG merch and I saw that they had sold a copy of the doujin I was thinking of, but I have no idea how to go about trying to find it on other sites.
I've tried putting the raw japanese title into all of the suggested doujin webstores in the buyfag guide but none of them hit.

Fuck, i'm really going to lay off the buyfaggotry for a while. I binged this month. Plus I have more stuff arriving soon.
Also, quick question. Is there a way to have a post office or shipping company delay my shipping? No.833517
>>833513
It really depends on the parts and how much detailing you want to do.
You can get away with painting everything after assembly, or just painting the "skeleton" fully assembled and the visible chassis parts separately.
I'm autistic so my process goes:
1. Paint, mark panel lines and add minor decals that fit individual parts.
2. Clear-coat.
3. Assemble and add more decals.
4. Wash and dry-brush.
5. Matte-coat.

No.833531

>Do I paint before or after assembling?
Depends on the model. Some Gunpla can be painted after, some techniques require that the parts be separated and airbrushed, other kits are fine with a touch of panel lining and a nice clear coat. It really depends on what you're going for. At any rate, be sure to swing by >>>/m/ and check out their gunpla guide. Having the right tools and taking just a little bit of extra time can make a world of difference.

Not much because I cancelled a preorder (first one) due to car troubles. Thankfully, AmiAmi was lenient because I always buy figures from her.
>Is July looking any better?
July and August are gonna be pretty hefty months, but it shouldn't be a problem since I have over 300 points saved up and I'm gonna receive more, anyway. I used SAL on a preowned Kasumi (she's a beaut for an older figure)and it took me about 2 and a half weeks to ship, so I'm in good hands. Ditto with the racing slut, which is my most anticipated preorder; I didn't order Erika because I liked Hana's detailed outfit more and I can't afford both when September arrives. I'll see if I can find a good deal on her when the time comes.

Have you done any research yourself after posting that?
A slow and gradual temperature variation, such as the change of seasons, shouldn't be an issue, I think. The real problem should be a rapid and high variation of temperature, such as turning on the heating during winter.
I'd say there's no problem regarding the PVC itself, expansion and contraction due to temperature variation is negligible on something so small like a figurine, less than a millimeter for a temperature variation of 30ºC.
I don't know the kind of paint they use on figurines though, so that could a problem.

It's got a layer of processed paraffin wax in it that prevents anything from sticking to it. My dad's bought one before and ran a stress test with high-sugar margaritas left in it for two days straight and the wax prevented almost anything from sticking to the cup (all it needed was a rinse and shake to get some sticky evaporated sugars off, and those came right off in the cold water). It's insulated too. Not at the level of my vacuum water bottle, but with the lid on it kept an iced drink cold and still had ice an hour later. It's also got a lifetime warranty on it- As long as the company is still around and the wooden bottom hasn't rotted through, they'll re-wax it or fix leather cracks and stuff if I pay the shipping to send it to them, no questions asked. They told me about a guy who was drunk and smashed it through his car window/left it in his car for a week straight in 100 degree heat pretty much fucking it over and they fixed it for him free-of-charge. They even got a website so they're slightly more legit than a lot of con-artists at Renaissance festivals: https://www.duleathermugs.com
>How are you supposed to wash it?
Cold water and shaking it with the lid on. If you need to, you can use a drop or two of dish soap and just make sure to rinse it thoroughly afterwards (I was told you can use lukewarm water but to avoid doing it too often, and that hot water was right out). Honey beer, citrus beer, and stout doesn't stick to it so I haven't had this issue/probably won't have this issue.
>and doesn't the leather change the taste of the drink?
It probably would if it was a soft leather, but this is an extremely hard leather. The creators have been using them for years, but when I tested it with fizzy water, lemonade, and with beer, it didn't change the flavor. It changed the way I had to drink it, but not the flavor. Actually with my shitty $1/can beer, it seemed to improve the flavor a little bit.

I imagine you could have one built by them for not too much. My plain one cost me roughly $35 + $25 for the lid (which is expensive as shit for a mug, but they're supposed to have a lifetime warranty and they really as sturdy if not more sturdy than wood). Their regular priced stylized mugs are ~$40 for mugs (16oz) and ~$50 for Flagons (24oz) so I can't imagine they'd charge you more than $75 tops for a commissioned flagon with your waifu on it (if anything the guy who makes them is a nerd so he'd probably be happy to make you one). Their glogs (the really big ones) are expensive though at like $125 each.

These large merchandise-style display case setups always remind me of a paragraph describing Japanese literary scholar, Saisei Muroo's thoughts on Japanese gardens.
If the shrubbery, flowers and grasses are left to grow without any pruning or tending, Muroo points out that the disposition of the surrounding wall or hedge becomes important. His reasons are (1) within that promiscuous beauty some moderation and tension are required; and (2) when thinking of a garden, even though one's mind is likely to be fascinated by the trees and the rocks, it is actually the enclosing fence or wall, acting as a prop limiting the view of the spectator, which is visually the most impressive. Indeed, for the garden of the average Japanese home, which is confined to a rather diminutive space, that is precisely the case. As long as one takes pains to ensure that the fence, wall or hedge is not discordant with the surroundings, the garden itself can be left unattended.
Both the display fixtures and the crowding seem to detract from the beauty of the figurines. But what type of fixture would be needed to properly display so many? And how would such a fixture be properly integrate into the greater room environment? Should so many figurines even be displayed? Maybe mass display cases aren't the way to go. Instead, displaying a single figurine at a time in a tokonoma-like display to fully highlight its beauty might be preferable.

Maybe it's just me but I don't actually care. Like, I see lots of nice things in these threads that I might've bought on seeing, but I don't, and then a month or so later I've forgotten it even existed. I could definitely afford to buyfag more but I realize there's no space to do it and that the desire fades pretty quickly for most figs.
At the moment my question further up still stands. I like stuffed toys more than figs since you can cuddle them, and there's like no Neptunia stuff except for Neptune and Noire, and none of the plushies are any good. >>833872

Speaking of plushies, I know budsies will do custom content and a rep told me they'd build a Yukkuri if you asked them to (for like $150), but do you think it would be possible to have them make these since it's copyrighted in the US?
I'd imagine the easiest way would be to ask people like the custom daki designers if they would be willing to or if they know anyone who would. Unfortunately, the only real way I could see about getting a commissioned plushie is by attending anime conventions and finding a plushie vendor or artist at one of said events. Knowing most American "artists" at anime conventions though, it would probably be Budsies-tier or even worse at probably double the cost to boot.
A third option is Etsy. I've found some of the foreigners on there like the Russians tend to actually produce top-notch products, whereas the American and Canadian products are usually shit-tier. Based on a quick look, a "budget" option would be "DrFrankenBecky" who makes mostly fluffy animal plushies for about $50 that are mid-tier quality compared to the stitched-together garbage mostly populating that site, but again, the most "quality" you'd get is probably still Budsies in this regard. "PancakeMakesPlush" also designs "anime" character plushies for an undisclosed price (it says "$25+" so I'm guessing in reality any real commission is going to run you $50 or more), but those are only 4" plushies and from what I can gather, all of their designs are the same fucking thing just slightly altered.

I'd rather just spend the money on a sex doll or an insert-dakimakura. Insert-dakis are only like $50 for the cheap models and $200 for the nicer ones, while an entry-level sex doll (those cardboard cutouts would be "entry level" for comparison purposes due to materials used) would only run you about $200-$700 for a decent one depending on the quality you want and how much care you want to put into it. You can get really cheap ones for sub-100 but I won't talk about those since an onahole and a daki for cuddling post-masturbation would feel better/more real than that bullshit and would be about the same price.
