Because the world nobles have a "relic" that gives them control over the world, presumably one of the three great weapons. If the Gorosei disobey them, islands will start getting nucked.

What we know of the void century is that the alliance between 20 kingdoms (later the WG) fought against a great kingdom + their allies of that time.

Poneglyph's were created by the enemies of the 20 kingdoms, and they hold the instructions for finding the ancient weapons.

Personally I assume that the enemies of the WG controlled all 3 ancient weapons, and the WG beat them with their secret relic.

The Super Weapons are already a secret that the WG and Navy keep a tight lid on. Lower ranked members and younger kingdoms might not know anything other than "The WG answers to the Tenryuubito and hail them as the absolute rulers of the world" while Admirals and Veterans might know that some of that relationship is largely built on the implicit threat that the Tenryuubito maintain their power through fear and threats of mass destruction.

The other thing that got slightly overlooked was on the island that the 4 RA commanders saved from Pinkbeard, there was mention of "Celestial Gold" which seemed to be of interest. Perhaps it's just gold and that's just what they call their offerings to the Tenryuubito, but I got the feeling that it was also supposed to imply that it's some kind of special gold that can't be spent normally, and is only good to the Tenryuubito... who are using the explicit threat of punishment to extort a valuable resource from the various Kingdom states.

Yes and no. We knew Shanks was strong and his crew weren't nobodies. They had a devil fruit, which was directly stated to be super rare and worth a fortune. Him being so badass that he could glare a shark monster away wasn't necessarily presented as a crazy power that left us scratching our heads and constantly asking, "But what did Shanks do in Chapter 1?!?!"

Right now, all we know is that Shanks got the hat from Roger and gave it to Luffy as a sign that he believed that Luffy could become King of the Pirates. Otherwise, nothing we know about the hat implies that it is somehow special or symbolic or in any way related to Gold Roger's greatness.

Figures that there would be a shadow government in place. Its starting to make sense now. That everything is being controlled by a few assholes up top and using the celestial dragons as a scape goat to do whatever the fuck they want. The revelotion army even wants to keep the government in tact and just kill the celestial dragons which is all according to plan.

Basically this entire world is a smoke screen. You have a shadow government in place but fronts as a legitimate government. You have the appearance of someone higher than them that has the government at their command, even though they are vastly weak. They let the dragons do whatever the fuck they want, forcing the focus onto the dragons and never the government because they can always say that "They were under orders" and are powerless to do anything. This is all going on while you have a group further behind the curtains going on about stealth missions, assassination plots and everything else. Nothing is remotely touching the shadow government because it doesnt exist in a tangible form. No one CAN touch it. So when someone DOES fuck with their puppet, thats that. The puppets (dragons) do exactly what they were designed to do, take the hits. This is exactly how a shadow government operates. The government allows pirates to at large roam around and do whatever the fuck they want while maintaining some type of order by issuing wanted posters allowing bounties to happen turning the sea into a watery wild wild west. They allow Warlords to exist giving the appearance that things are under control when they are not and for good reason. For them not being under control one cant even dream to think about a person pulling the strings because why would you when there is so much real shit happening that needs to be fixed first.

Lack of communication, too many powerful pieces causing chaos and the inability to distinguish what laws mean what and allow on the fly creation of meanings of laws and or words allow for a government to exist behind many different governments and territories. Just remember that no one in this world is able to grasp the concept of politics well because there is too much going on for even the smallest person to fully see the picture due to how fragmented it is.

It seems like a lot of shit but this is my theory. Basically there are groups behind CP0 that are under direct commands of the shadow government. We have yet to see the actual true powerful groups. We are about to see the bosses of the world and their champions that could easily dwarf some of the Emperors and to be honest I dont see Straw hats winning right now at all. I believe that any of the Elders could destroy an Emperor because they are Gatekeepers to the shadow government. Why would you allow things to roam around unhindered if they can easily shut down your operations? You wouldnt. So every piece right now out on the field is small time. The entire ocean is filled with pawns and we are about to see WHY we need the weapons left hundreds of years ago.

They didnt blow up the island to keep the secret of the weapons, they blew up the island to keep the secret about the people behind the curtain. Im pretty sure Roger knew about them and said that they couldnt do anything because how could you? The entire playing field is fucked and the goalpost they thought they found was moved far out of sight when they got there.

If the government front somehow self rights and is now opposed to any shady dealings this will drastically hurt the shadow government. When shadow governments want control they shut that shit down. Basically think communism and removing any party that would remove power from the current leadership. They will send people to remove him. Removal of Warlords wont matter at all. It matters to the pieces on the board but the true players dont give a shit at all because everything else is too controlled.

I doubt the majority of my stuff will be correct since its too much politics in a story where politics really hasnt been much of anything except for "This is a king and this is a god like party above it". I just hope perhaps a percentage of what I say is correct. Would add some depth.

Before I elaborate, this is a theory based on my other theory that Roger purposefully put all of One Piece in Raftel so someone would find the secret that the WG is hiding from the world, which Roger himself discovered. Roger and Dragon have the same goal but went about it in different ways. They probably met and spoke as well.

I think initially Roger wanted to reveal the truth to the world, but they either struggled to communicate it in a conventional way (people won't just believe a pirate) or there was a great force in his way (Ym/WG?). He surrendered to the WG because in Rayleigh's words "he saw the end of his journey", as in there was nothing in his power that he could anymore to change the world. However, he believed that future generations might be able to free the world from tyranny, hence why he passed down the straw hat to Shanks so that he could find a worthy "D" to carry on his will. More on that in a bit. Also, I think the Straw Hat might be a symbol of rebellion from the void century. What if Shanks promised Ym to give his body at some point due to being blackmailed in some way, thereby preserving his soul? However, since Ym has caught wind of the danger that Straw Hat poses (as opposed to the WG who always knew), he calls for Shanks to give his body early.

I made this all up on the spot so there could be some huge holes in my theory. Let me know what you guys think.

Jinbei is one of the least violent and destructive pirates around, but he was still locked up in Impel Down. That's false though. Did you forgot everything about Sabaody? There was a public slave market with prices listed and a CD was going around enslaving woman and killing their husbands. The Revolutionaries were supposed to be "good", but they clearly aren't because they don't mind this system, they're just butthurt at the current individuals on top. To be fair, we still don't know the Revolutionaries true aim. Getting rid of the Tenryuubito is a good thing, as they are the ones demanding the offerings, enslaving people, and generally being a bunch of psychotic, inhuman jackasses. The Navy is forced to answer to them when they make demands, but most people in the navy are good people who want order and safety for the world. It can be presumed that the corrupt and evil members of the Navy and WG are people who have connections and favor with the Tenryuubito, or they work under someone else who does, giving them a sort of immunity for their evil deeds.

So, the RA's plan to take out the Tenryuubito and leave the Navy alone is largely a sound plan. Without them and the Gorosei around to call the shots and pull strings, stuff like the Reverie would be a far more honest event. Leaders from all over the world coming to forge alliances and help out one another, instead of it only being those who are allowed to come or those who can afford to offer enough wealth to the Tenryuubito to be invited.

If the army is centralized, then it has to be controlled by an overarching institution not affiliated with any one particular kingdom but all of them. If the marines in this form are to exist, then a type of World Government also has to exist. In a few generations, ANY of the people who come to be at the helm of the new WG are going to end up like present day Tenryuubito. The only reason Cobra and Doflamingo are strong is because they didn't live sheltered lives and formed tribal relations: Cobra with his people and Doflamingo with his crew. The Tenryuubito live with the knowledge that they have control over people for whom they don't give two shits about, which is what a World Government always entails. It has to be affiliated to an umbrella world government because of it's centralized nature. If you keep the marines you have to keep a WG. And a WG will just end up like the current one anyway.

I don't get why people are pisses about the Revolutionaries plan to take out the Celestial Dragons. It's a sound plan, they can't take out everything at once, and they're the obvious choice to target. From what we've seen they have no combat power of their own, they're responsible for many of the most detestable acts of the WG, and they're effectively the head if the state. Taking them out would demonstrate their power, allow them to expose their actions and possibly result in a civil war.

I think the rest of the newspaper would have revealed the troubling outcome of the Reverie which may result in Luffy having to change course again. More immediately important though, I think Big Mom is heading to Wano to form an alliance with Kaido. I think it'll fall apart though leading to a three-way battle.

As for the rest of the politics and logistics of a world-spanning police force, I agree with you and would never advocate for such a thing in real life, but One Piece is fiction and I don't think Oda's aim is to slide in some subtle jabs at Globalism. Even if it can be interpreted that way, that's more likely to do with the fact that the only way such an organization comes to power is through corruption and underhanded tactics, meaning it would be inherently evil and unjust from the start.

So, i've had this theory for a long time that awakening your devil fruit for some reason increased your height. This is based on the fact that every awakened devil fruit user we've seen has been giant and most have the same proportions. The admirals, Katakuri, Doflamingo, the Zoans in Impel Down...
