Move aside peasants! King Chapter the 905th coming through!

Orlumbus's cover story is the lamest shit imaginable

The kings and queens of the world arrive and they're all truly kind and noble leaders, except Stelly

The world falls in love with Shirahoshi, including BIG NEWS Morgans

Garp and Sengoku are still around, with Garp now dressed in all black and Garp is friends with Neptune

Akainu has a surprisingly comedic moment and we find out that the life of a Fleet Admiral is not easy at all even for him

The Revolutionaries are not anti-government, they just want the Celestial Dragons to stop enslaving people and stealing gold, so they're gonna overthrow just them but leave the government in tact

The Shichibukai gets replaced by Vegapunk's new invention

Sabo infiltrates the Reverie as Stelly's guard

And for some stupid reason there's a Titan in the wall of the Red Line... I cringed a bit

That was the giant revolutionary that can walk underground from the last chapter if you didn't notice. Seems that Sabo, Karasu and him are infiltrating reverie together, others might appear later.

Kinda strange that they didn't come with Morley since he can probably make clay tunnels inside the Red Line, instead they're just relaxing on faggot island. I mean, its likely Morley has a shit ton of soldiers with him (maybe even Dragon), but why Betty, Koala, the stumpy guy and that ugly cow guy didn't come seems weird, especially since they'll be needing Betty's fruit to go against the armies and marines up there, unless they're just that confident that a small team has a better chance of succeeding.

Pretty much all the post-time skip arcs were underwhelming until Totto Land came along. But even then all anyone does is shit on Sanji now because of it, despite that the anime has expanded his scenes and made him look better.

 No.829214

>>829213

The Sanji hate is mostly just shitposting by Zorofags. I wouldn't take it seriously. That arc was for his personal growth and coming to terms with his past, not about physical achievements, even though kicking Oven's ass and blocking Daifuku's genie were already impressive feats. But something tells me Totto Land and Reverie will be the positive turning point for the timeskip.

That's Morley, the Giang Revolutionary Army commander who can seep into stone and rock with an unknown DF power. I'm more concerned with the fact that the RA has been after the Tenryuubito and only them this entire time, and that they have no issues with the World Government, apparently.

For some reason this slipped by me and I thought it was a hint at some WG bullshit. I'm dense as fuck sometimes.

>>829243

It seems a bit weird, yeah. Why would they want to get rid of just those assholes and not the guys underneath propping it up? Seems a bit idealistic to think things'll work out after that.

I'm more concerned that everyone in the Revolutionary Army is a weird looking motherfucker that wears goggles on their hats. Why is that the uniform of all things? How does Dragon tolerate all these crazy fucks when he's come across as so serious in contrast to them? I've been trying to work it out ever since Ivankov (although I could probably accept it if it was just him being the weird motherfucker of the army, but instead it seems everyone but Dragon and Kuma are like this).

Honestly, I'm fine with holding off on Wano for a bit if we can finally figure out what the fuck is going on with this clusterfuck of shit between the World Government, Tenryuubito, and Revolutionary Army. Having the RA say that they straight up don't care about fighting the WG throws everything into question.. Like, what the fuck do they even expect to accomplish then? Remove the people in charge, but leave everyone, including psychotic assholes like Akainu and the people who decided to purposefully let the 7 Warlords run wild, still with all the power to do whatever they want?

 No.829450

>>829440

I was thinking the same thing. I don't want the RA to become fucking Bolsheviks, since it just wouldn't fit the theme of One Piece which is all about freedom and doing your own thing. Since Taco Island exists outside the new world, does that mean immigrants from there founded Dressroba, or did Dressrosafags leave the New World to find somewhere more peaceful and conquered Taco Island? Also King Taco Bean has a cactus on his hat. Does that mean Jean Ango is a taco too and that everyone from their has a cactus growing out of their head? What we know of the void century is that the alliance between 20 kingdoms (later the WG) fought against a great kingdom + their allies of that time.

Poneglyph's were created by the enemies of the 20 kingdoms, and they hold the instructions for finding the ancient weapons.

Personally I assume that the enemies of the WG controlled all 3 ancient weapons, and the WG beat them with their secret relic.

The Super Weapons are already a secret that the WG and Navy keep a tight lid on. Lower ranked members and younger kingdoms might not know anything other than "The WG answers to the Tenryuubito and hail them as the absolute rulers of the world" while Admirals and Veterans might know that some of that relationship is largely built on the implicit threat that the Tenryuubito maintain their power through fear and threats of mass destruction.

The other thing that got slightly overlooked was on the island that the 4 RA commanders saved from Pinkbeard, there was mention of "Celestial Gold" which seemed to be of interest. Perhaps it's just gold and that's just what they call their offerings to the Tenryuubito, but I got the feeling that it was also supposed to imply that it's some kind of special gold that can't be spent normally, and is only good to the Tenryuubito... who are using the explicit threat of punishment to extort a valuable resource from the various Kingdom states.

I'm wondering if the person is tiny or the hat is huge, but either way, this seems to imply some kind of importance behind Luffy's hat, maybe? I don't feel like that's quite right, though. >We had no reason to believe what Shanks did to send that sea king away and save Luffy was a special power for over a decade.

Yes and no. We knew Shanks was strong and his crew weren't nobodies. They had a devil fruit, which was directly stated to be super rare and worth a fortune. Him being so badass that he could glare a shark monster away wasn't necessarily presented as a crazy power that left us scratching our heads and constantly asking, "But what did Shanks do in Chapter 1?!?!"

Right now, all we know is that Shanks got the hat from Roger and gave it to Luffy as a sign that he believed that Luffy could become King of the Pirates. Otherwise, nothing we know about the hat implies that it is somehow special or symbolic or in any way related to Gold Roger's greatness.

>again, Doffy talking about power degrading, and with the context of the panels, implies that whatever's in that coffin, still has "power"

>What if they couldn't?

Well, think about it. What if they couldn't kill D?

What if he can't be killed, even more than Kaido, being literally immortal or some other insane crackpot theory bullshit like that.

And then it runs deeper. See, what if the will of D is his will to be freed, being inherited in his descendants, and manifesting as going against the government. ie going against those who represent "god" in this world. And why would they all have a connecting thread of going against the government?

Because of the exact same reason Doffy is chained up in the lowest level of Impel Down. ie

>"Any disruption of the world government, creates an opportunity to free D himself. The greater the disruption, the greater the chance to free him."

So what happens when that's someone's purpose, ie Dragon?

What happens if that guy knows who his actions could free?

What happens when he has the means to do it?

 No.832271

File: 7d958788fea499e⋯.jpg (210.67 KB, 1200x1200, 1:1, possiblyrelated.jpg)

What a fucking chapter, holy shit this arc is something else.

Kaido and Big Mom are getting tense with one another, and Big Mom stated that Kaido owes her a debt. In addition, they used to potentially work together during older times. An interesting thing to note is that angry Oven looks an awful lot like angry Kaido, possibly supporting the theory that the triplets are Kaido's children. Another idea is that Big Mom gave Kaido his immortality by giving him a fuck ton of lifespan, this is contradicted by the fact that he seems to want to die while this is called a favor, but the idea might be worth considering. This could potentially be connected to the next huge reveal of the chapter; there existed a legendary crew (maybe group) pre-Roger called "The Rocks". It is stated that this is the real reason Garp is known as hero of the marines, that he played a role in stopping these legends. It's possible (likely even, based off the juxtaposition and intense power said to exist) that Kaido and Big Mom were originally members of this crew. Garp state's that if they made a comeback, even though they lack their legendary captain, it would be something that the marines could not handle. I am 99.99999% sure the (a?) remnant(s) of this group is the "hidden legend" that Oda talked about returning in Wano. CP0 appears, confirming Kaku as a member, and it seems that (to my dismay honestly) Lucci is the leader. It seems that Lucci sucks off the celestials, but I doubt he's being honest and in reality he probably wants to murder this weak fucks. CHARLOSS GETS HIT AGAIN! He's hit by another celestial, and it's Mjosgard, the one who went to the Fishman Island, he is a Donquixote and changed his ways now, actually being a decent person (seemingly). And the cherry on top of the chapter was Shanks talking with the Gorosei, it's implied that the Gorosei actually have some kind of connection with Shanks, which has... bad implications. All in all this chapter was amazing, and theorists will fucking have a stroke because of this arc.

I disagree with this, Lucci stood against Spandam when he tried to throw them under the bus. He's just one of the few characters who acts like a person in his position should.

He's a member of the WG secret service, the Celestial Dragons are his direct superiors, he has no need to play the hero and risk his life for a bunch of people he doesn't know.

He likened the guy that remained in the jungle fighting alone for 28 years after the war ended to a lonely piece of chicken left in the plate after everyone ate.

Japanese patriots rated the volume 1 star on Amazon saying the comment was disrespectful for soldiers who fought for them but of course all the western comments I see are calling those people fascists for defending WWII Japan. Either way this should show how much Oda cares about nationalism.

Seeing Kuma like this genuinely caused me shock, I want the celestial dragons to get gang raped by every "commoner" in the world one by one. In an unexpected twist of events, it looks like Reverie might be Bonney's arc as a supernova, she might have ties to the RA. How can this be used to support the headcanon that she's 800 years old and lived in the ancient society?

Oda once again fucks us on a cosmic scale with another absurd reveal, the empty throne is bullshit, and "Im" is king of the world, the Gorosei fucking bowed to them. At this rate this arc will have more shocking twists and revelations than the rest of the series up to this point combined. For all we know the next chapter will reveal that Blackbeard is Luffy's mom, Sanji's cooking skill is Uranus, Shanks is the devil, Dragon is a celestial dragon, Ace is alive and actually leads the world above Im, Higuma is the leader of the Rocks and the strongest being to ever exist, Buggy is the son of Shiki, and the One Piece is actually made up by the WG.

Figures that there would be a shadow government in place. Its starting to make sense now. That everything is being controlled by a few assholes up top and using the celestial dragons as a scape goat to do whatever the fuck they want. The revelotion army even wants to keep the government in tact and just kill the celestial dragons which is all according to plan.

Basically this entire world is a smoke screen. You have a shadow government in place but fronts as a legitimate government. You have the appearance of someone higher than them that has the government at their command, even though they are vastly weak. They let the dragons do whatever the fuck they want, forcing the focus onto the dragons and never the government because they can always say that "They were under orders" and are powerless to do anything. This is all going on while you have a group further behind the curtains going on about stealth missions, assassination plots and everything else. Nothing is remotely touching the shadow government because it doesnt exist in a tangible form. No one CAN touch it. So when someone DOES fuck with their puppet, thats that. The puppets (dragons) do exactly what they were designed to do, take the hits. This is exactly how a shadow government operates. The government allows pirates to at large roam around and do whatever the fuck they want while maintaining some type of order by issuing wanted posters allowing bounties to happen turning the sea into a watery wild wild west. They allow Warlords to exist giving the appearance that things are under control when they are not and for good reason. For them not being under control one cant even dream to think about a person pulling the strings because why would you when there is so much real shit happening that needs to be fixed first.

These things need to be fixed

>Removal of bounties (makes it appear government cant control things)

>Removal of Warlords (Employing murderers to catch murderers is a retarded concept that causes too many issues)

>Establishing an actual written code of laws instead of allowing high er ranking members to dictate what the definition of "Justice" means

>A strong link of communication between all controlled properties of the world government

>Complete control over the passing over or under the grand line (They could easily divert manpower to shut down any unauthorized movement but they dont)

>Assigning actual powerful units on hand to hunt down and remove the threat of the Emperors (They DO have the power to do this but choose not to)

All of these things and more are not done because discord causes misdirection and allows special agents to completely move about unseen because everyone is busy with immediate problems.

Lack of communication, too many powerful pieces causing chaos and the inability to distinguish what laws mean what and allow on the fly creation of meanings of laws and or words allow for a government to exist behind many different governments and territories. Just remember that no one in this world is able to grasp the concept of politics well because there is too much going on for even the smallest person to fully see the picture due to how fragmented it is.

It seems like a lot of shit but this is my theory. Basically there are groups behind CP0 that are under direct commands of the shadow government. We have yet to see the actual true powerful groups. We are about to see the bosses of the world and their champions that could easily dwarf some of the Emperors and to be honest I dont see Straw hats winning right now at all. I believe that any of the Elders could destroy an Emperor because they are Gatekeepers to the shadow government. Why would you allow things to roam around unhindered if they can easily shut down your operations? You wouldnt. So every piece right now out on the field is small time. The entire ocean is filled with pawns and we are about to see WHY we need the weapons left hundreds of years ago.

They didnt blow up the island to keep the secret of the weapons, they blew up the island to keep the secret about the people behind the curtain. Im pretty sure Roger knew about them and said that they couldnt do anything because how could you? The entire playing field is fucked and the goalpost they thought they found was moved far out of sight when they got there.

 No.834243

If anything he will stay inside the government and be that thing that is desperately needed, an officer trying to steer the ship in the right direction. If the government front somehow self rights and is now opposed to any shady dealings this will drastically hurt the shadow government. When shadow governments want control they shut that shit down. Basically think communism and removing any party that would remove power from the current leadership. They will send people to remove him. Removal of Warlords wont matter at all. It matters to the pieces on the board but the true players dont give a shit at all because everything else is too controlled.

I doubt the majority of my stuff will be correct since its too much politics in a story where politics really hasnt been much of anything except for "This is a king and this is a god like party above it". I just hope perhaps a percentage of what I say is correct. Would add some depth.

When I saw Im's silhouette, I thought it was Shanks

 No.834274

>>834244

Now that you say that, it's possible that Shanks sacrificed his body as a host to something or someone, which may be the mechanism by which this so called 'Ym' is immortal throughout the centuries (devil fruit?). He prefers the bodies of those with great swordsmanship because he himself may have been a great swordsman originally, hence all the swords surrounding the throne (they belonged to previous owners). Maybe that's why Ym allowed Shanks entry into the castle, since he is a formidable swordsman that rivals Mihawk himself.

 No.834276

>>834244

>>834274

Also, a lot of people are saying Shanks is secretly a bad guy, which might be partially true. Before I elaborate, this is a theory based on my other theory that Roger purposefully put all of One Piece in Raftel so someone would find the secret that the WG is hiding from the world, which Roger himself discovered. Roger and Dragon have the same goal but went about it in different ways. They probably met and spoke as well.

I think initially Roger wanted to reveal the truth to the world, but they either struggled to communicate it in a conventional way (people won't just believe a pirate) or there was a great force in his way (Ym/WG?). He surrendered to the WG because in Rayleigh's words "he saw the end of his journey", as in there was nothing in his power that he could anymore to change the world. However, he believed that future generations might be able to free the world from tyranny, hence why he passed down the straw hat to Shanks so that he could find a worthy "D" to carry on his will. More on that in a bit. Also, I think the Straw Hat might be a symbol of rebellion from the void century. What if Shanks promised Ym to give his body at some point due to being blackmailed in some way, thereby preserving his soul? However, since Ym has caught wind of the danger that Straw Hat poses (as opposed to the WG who always knew), he calls for Shanks to give his body early.

I made this all up on the spot so there could be some huge holes in my theory. Let me know what you guys think.

R8 my theory (I'm sure other people have said it before, I'm not saying I invented it or thought of it first but I did come to the conclusion on my own)

Buggy has the D, Buggy D Clown, he is related to Caesar Clown, who may or may not have the D ( I don't think he does). Both are constantly smiling and Buggy especially has that weird good luck that Luffy has and he brought a lot of pirates, most who are stronger than him, under his control. I think at the final battle Buggy will ally himself with the Straw Hat fleet, it might even happen before then since the 7 warlords system is most likely going to be removed. Buggy will probably only join the fleet because most of his soldiers were going to leave to join, like Hajrudin and the other pirates did.

Also Enel is going to find the super weapon Uranus on the moon and come down with it and his robot army.

We talked about this in the last thread. Since they hit Shaobody, One Piece has been in constant motion, more or less. They are just constantly jumping from thing to thing, always moving forward, always being surprised and then dealing with something, then running towards something. Zou was the closest thing to a downtime arc we got, and what happened right after? They split the crew and we haven't seen half the fucking cast in years now.

 No.836631

I don't see why they need to stretch everything out to years. If I were skilled and suicidal enough to write manga I would make a point of making sure there's some point to every panel. The anime is even worse, I've seen them stretch an entire panel out to a 2 minute scene where every line is spoken to a static image

 No.837255

I could actually see Oda trolling everyone with Im and making him a goofball character, after hyping him up. It would be a very Oda-like move.

 No.837281

>>837255

Are you kidding? The Oda thing to do is have him be all-powerful and terrifying AND a goofball. Kaido is a giant horned immortal who has enslaved every Supernova he's fought, and he's also a bi-polar alcoholic who's constantly crying from mood swings. Zoro is a master swordsman who fights with three swords, and gets lost every time he turns around. This is every character and every power up. A death reaper skeleton swordsman obsessed with panties, Speedo-wearing pervert androids powered by cola. Gear 4 is both badass and intimidating and ridiculous and hilarious. He sent doffy flying across the city with a punch and then bounced after him on his ass.

Im will not disappoint in either regard I'm sure. The eyes already kind of give me the impression it's absent-minded. Maybe I'm alternates from being empty-headed and child-like to murderous and insane. Think about it, the world run by an immortal inbred with Alzheimer's and dementia.

 No.837316

Oda has made serious non goofball characters though like Mihawk, Lucci and Akainu

 No.837320

>>836631

Someone needs to go read some other shounenshit for a while. Go read some Bleach and watch as you become painfully aware of Kubo's inability to pace or use panels effectively. It starts out pretty average, but the majority of the series is blank backgrounds and characters standing around.

>>837316

Mihawk is such an autist that instead of sailing around something, he just cuts whatever is in his way in half.

Lucci turns into a silly buff leopard wearing a tophat, oh and he talks primarily through ventriloquism which he performs with a pigeon that he dresses to match his own outfits.

Akainu's entire appearance is based off a deceased Japanese actor(Bunta Sugawara) and his name is a reference to the Legend of Momotaro, along with the other admirals.

 No.837321

>>837320

Lucci only had the pigeon talking when he worked undercover and the rest of the time he is dead serious. Akainu looking like that actor doesnt have anything to do with him being serious or not. Akainu doesnt have any goofball traits and Mihawk doesnt even have any named attacks so thats how you know he is serious

 No.837330

>>837321

Lucci still coordinates outfits with his pigeon, Akainu is still an overblown parody of the hardboiled detective from old brutal cop movies, and Mihawk is a goofy vampire man with a huge silly hat and a ridiculous sword. Just because these characters are cool and serious and played entirely straight, does not mean they are not goofy.

The arc didn't begin, that would be retarded. The "wano arc begins" text is either weird translation or weird original phrasing.

In any case: Pineapple is back and he seems to be awakened as he can rejuvenate others, this is interesting because we thought Zoans gained excessive stamina and endurance when they awaken, but this is much closer to Paramecia awakening.

I'm just saying it would be a huge waste of the arc's potential, Oda has never dropped this many points at once before. I can easily understand stuff such as Shanks, Imu, the pictures, and the giant strawhat being dropped; but dropping the RA, Fujitora's plans, Bonny, and most importantly the meeting itself, with all the world-changing repercussions, would be stupid. Even if Oda decided to off-screen the entire Reverie itself, why would he have introduced Bonny into the arc the very chapter before it ends, off-screening her role? This is not on the level of something like WCI's dropped points, this is infinitely worse.

Hey guys, did you know if you save a butterfly from a spider's web you're starving the spider so actually you'rr a bad guy?

This is the logic used in each of your posts. If I can interpret something in a way that sounds bad, it's evil.

All of Luffy's opponents have been evil and villainous, when he thinks they're a good person he'd rather run away. The only exception was when he fought Fujitora and intentionally gave him the advantage by calling out his attacks because he was blind and quote "I kind of like you." Is that the behavior of a villain?

The world government is most definitely corrupt employing actual villains and enslaving people, and every single floor of Impel Down qualifies as cruel and unusual punishment. The fact that there are floors where they erase any record of your existence alone is justification for a prison break, don't forget they tossed Jimbe in there, and he didn't do SHIT. Luffy broke out a few goofballs from the lower levels, the villains were broken out by Blackbeard, get your facts straight my dude.

Zoro isn't just some random murderer, most of his opponents are still alive, like Daz Bones, and murdering him would have been justified. Don't forget One Piece is a world where you can have a nuke blow up in your face or your mother eat your soul and show up a few chapters later fine. Those he has killed have been in duels of honor. He didn't even kill Monet.

Luffy agreed officially to be a here in Fishman Island and he's regarded as a hero on dann near every island he's ever been. That's straight from Oda's pen, just TRY and dispute it.

>Hey guys, did you know if you save a butterfly from a spider's web you're starving the spider so actually you'rr a bad guy?

 No.839133

Also, Franky was pursuing his dream after having his body destroyed by a train, and he gave all those orphans a home, his underlings loved him.

"The most dangerous criminals" that Luffy freed were enemies of the WG and the Tenryuubito. Jinbei is one of the least violent and destructive pirates around, but he was still locked up in Impel Down. Ivankov and the Newkama were revolutionaries, not rapists and murderers, and their presence in the prison actually turned several criminals into good guys.

Blackbeard was the one who went in and sought out the nastiest, most violent, murderous, psychotic prisoners. The people who were locked up because they couldn't be controlled or sated, and because their criminal behavior was senseless and self-motivated, rather than being for a cause or in the name of personal gain.

 No.839411

Crocodile was probably the worst guy Luffy directly let out. But he was pretty impotent by then.

>>839122

Magellan isn't what i'd call evil. He may be villainous in that he directly opposes the protagonist, but beyond that he is just a guy doing his job. He guards the great prison because that is his duty, and if that means that some innocents must suffer to ensure the guilty are behind bars then so be it. Most of the Marines barring diehards like Sakazuki are fighting for what they consider right and good in the world. Sengoku isn't evil, certainly Garp and Coby aren't evil. The Tenryubitto and the Gorosei are the evil ones when it comes to the world government, even Dragon realizes that certain aspects of the world government, such as the marines, are invaluable. The Strawhats may be virtuous and heroic, but they are the exception when it comes to pirates and not the rule. For every one Luffy, you have a dozen Kidds raping and pillaging their way across the grand line+the four blues.

 No.839423

>>839411

Luffy isn't "virtuous" in any way, he's a clear cut antihero. Every time he has helped someone, it hasn't been because of some sense of duty or moral compass, but because he just damn felt like it at the time.

And I did address it, people in one piece survive insane shit, they have toon physiology. Lost a tooth? Drink some milk. House dropped on you? No bigger. Nuke goes off in your fucking hands? Put a band aid on it, pussy.

>>839411

There are good people in the marines, Smoker and Fujitora are other examples, but they've become exceptions and highly disillusioned with their job. The very first marine we meet is axe hand Morgan. From Cipher Pol to buster calls, to the use of the Warlords nearly all of which were up to very evil shit, to the treatment of prisoners in Impel Down, the fact that they all do the bidding of the Celestial Dragons including aiding in the capture of slaves, to the fact that the real threats, the real problems on the sea, the fucking Yonko they won't dare even bother with.

I suspect the Marines will remain but reformed with their good members.

 No.839680

I stand by what I said. Luffy is a guy who does good things, but there are aspects to his personality that make him not necessarily a "good person."

It's hard to explain, but it makes more sense if you compare the reasoning of his actions, to someone like Coby's reasoning.

Luffy just does what he wants, but he's got a good nature and his desires end up being helpful to those around him, especially in a corrupted world.

-What if Brook's body is at some point completely destroyed but it turns out his soul continues to exist just fine without it and he can inhabit any number of bodies and after an arc or two where he has to deal with being in corpses ill-suited for his abilities, Franky designs him a new one, afro and all and in spite of all the changes in the end Laboon still recognizes him?

>The Straw Hats have been the bad guys the entire series.

This.

It's the whole point.

One Piece preaches childish anarchy. They're pirates for fuck's sake. That's why it's fun.

Nothing the world government does is evil, most marines are clearly depicted as good guys (far more than nearly all pirates). Hell most kings are also all good guys.

Even the revolutionaries don't really want to topple the government.

Evil acts from the government are either by privileged people on top that abuse of their position (even more so now that there are also a nice char now) and assholes on lowers level that abuse their positions.

The prison is bad?

Get your feminine study diploma out of your ass in a world where criminal can harness powers akin to WMD within their body the simple fact there is a prison instead of just gallows (as it was how piracy has always been handled in history. Even today. Somalian pirates caught by coalitions forces are given to local authorities in Yemen before the civil war or Oman/KSA... You know, places, were they chop up limbs for considerably smaller offenses) is proof the government is actually lenient.

Then what? They take taxes. OK that's clearly evil.

They don't enslave people, slavery is illegal (the salve market was Donflamingo's).

Sure the Dragons engage in it and since they're literally above the law it's sort of tolerated, but that's just an unfairness due to a corrupt bunch rather than the actions of the government as an entity.

Then you have the black ops teams, which are a necessary evil everywhere and in any time.

Now with hidden king and the lost history and all that maybe there is AN ANCIENT EVIL AWOKE but so far the straw hat are a bunch of lovable irresponsible outlaws, most of them with deep criminal backgrounds that were saved from their own darkness by the lightheartedness and strong moral compass of their captain, that in the process of go on adventures (read wreck other people's shit) do more good than harm.

But the idea that they're heroes is silly.

Fucking Lina Inverse is more heroic than them.

You're basically ignoring reality at this point. Every single word you just wrote was completely, totally and utterly wrong.

-Oda has specifically said they're heroes, Jimbe specifically planned this on Fishmab Island and all the children who look up to Luffy want copies of what he wears that they specifically refer to as -wait for it- "HERO HATS". Now how do you handwave all that away? Just say it doesn't matter and pretend that's an argument? Assert your baseless opinion outweighs Oda's?

-Most of the marines range from outroght evil to corrupt to merely apathetic. The Buster Call has them come to an island and destroy it without thought or question. They allow the Shichibukai to enslave islands and wreak havoc in exchange for fighting for them when called. Axehand Morgan, the rat guy in cahoots with Arlong, the entirety of Cipher Pol, he'll remember Akainu trying to murder Coby? Who saved him abd stopped the war? Shanks. And what was Whitebeard trying to stop? A world wide broadcastrd public execution meant to taunt him. Do good governments televise executions you halfwit?

-As for the prison, yes it's cruel and unusual to take Jimbe and put him on the bottom floor with the worst of the worst where your very existence is erased because he wouldn't take part in the war. There's a floor where everything is covered in sharp blades, a floor where monsters roam freely between the cells, a floor where the heat alone can kill you and obe where the cold can kill you. The entire prison was built as a giant torture chamber run by BDSM freaks, and if you really think Buggy and Bon Clay's crimes merit any of that you are undoubtedly fucked in the head.

All the good marines are at odds with the rest of them and directly disobey their orders.

Luffy has traveles island to usland saving countries, toppling dictators, saving children and having feasts with people. If you still wish to assert your view outweighs the author you're dann sure going to have to come up with sime legitimately villainous acts on their part.

Of all the wrong posts I've ever read, this one is the most wrong.

 No.840503

The world government is defacto a bad thing because it's a globalist world government with a centralized army (marines) which levies taxes from all its constituents in exchange for maintaining the status quo of them being a global elite. Everything else is just a bonus.

The Revolutionaries were supposed to be "good", but they clearly aren't because they don't mind this system, they're just butthurt at the current individuals on top. In a few generations, any new WG rulers will become just as complacent and weak as the current Tenryuubito. Revolutionaries are just being dumb, as expected since they're just salty homos.

The Strawhats don't even factor into being good or bad because they don't care, they just do their own stuff. They never try to consciously harm the WG, but they don't follow the WG's rule either. They have a tribal relationship with eachother and that in itself is good. But in this specific case with Wano, they are actually working to open up Wano to the WG, pirates, immigrants, etc. This is irrefutably a bad thing unless there was no other choice but to do this. Currently, the only motivation for them is the wish of some guy who died and they didn't even know. They were never bad, but in this scenario they are the villains. I am actually rooting for Kaido even though I'm sure they'll come up with a lame excuse of why Wano can't remain the monolithic country it always was, most likely Kaido related.

 No.840530

>>840503

To be fair, we still don't know the Revolutionaries true aim. Getting rid of the Tenryuubito is a good thing, as they are the ones demanding the offerings, enslaving people, and generally being a bunch of psychotic, inhuman jackasses. The Navy is forced to answer to them when they make demands, but most people in the navy are good people who want order and safety for the world. It can be presumed that the corrupt and evil members of the Navy and WG are people who have connections and favor with the Tenryuubito, or they work under someone else who does, giving them a sort of immunity for their evil deeds.

So, the RA's plan to take out the Tenryuubito and leave the Navy alone is largely a sound plan. Without them and the Gorosei around to call the shots and pull strings, stuff like the Reverie would be a far more honest event. Leaders from all over the world coming to forge alliances and help out one another, instead of it only being those who are allowed to come or those who can afford to offer enough wealth to the Tenryuubito to be invited.

If the army is centralized, then it has to be controlled by an overarching institution not affiliated with any one particular kingdom but all of them. If the marines in this form are to exist, then a type of World Government also has to exist. In a few generations, ANY of the people who come to be at the helm of the new WG are going to end up like present day Tenryuubito. The only reason Cobra and Doflamingo are strong is because they didn't live sheltered lives and formed tribal relations: Cobra with his people and Doflamingo with his crew. The Tenryuubito live with the knowledge that they have control over people for whom they don't give two shits about, which is what a World Government always entails. There's no tribal loyalty between a globalist elite and some peasant a thousand miles away, ergo you cannot ask them to give a shit about those people. All they end up caring about is for the system to get supplied with money and to be seen as "Order" in the eyes of the people.

TL;DR you can't have just the marines without the WG (whose members are recruited from every kingdom), otherwise it would be a military junta that doesn't do shit. It has to be affiliated to an umbrella world government because of it's centralized nature. If you keep the marines you have to keep a WG. And a WG will just end up like the current one anyway.

I don't get why people are pisses about the Revolutionaries plan to take out the Celestial Dragons. It's a sound plan, they can't take out everything at once, and they're the obvious choice to target. From what we've seen they have no combat power of their own, they're responsible for many of the most detestable acts of the WG, and they're effectively the head if the state. Taking them out would demonstrate their power, allow them to expose their actions and possibly result in a civil war.

I think the rest of the newspaper would have revealed the troubling outcome of the Reverie which may result in Luffy having to change course again. More immediately important though, I think Big Mom is heading to Wano to form an alliance with Kaido. I think it'll fall apart though leading to a three-way battle.

See, the problem isn't just that the Tenryuubito have the WG and Navy on a leash, it's that they are treated as living Gods. Laws, the will of men, fairness, etc etc, none of that shit applies to them at all. They can literally do whatever they want and the officially ruling from every government and kingdom on the planet is

>They are Gods. They can do whatever they want and we're not allowed to stop them.

While you are right that whoever took their place as a more traditional structure of leadership and governance could just as well become a corrupt despot who misuses their power, they would not have the status of Gods, and anyone below them or any other power in the world could tell them to fuck off or even attempt to kill them without the same kind of backlash that the Tenryuubito can currently muster. Without them around, if the leader of the world wanted to pull some heinous, corrupt shit, guys like Sengoku, Garp, Smoker, and everyone who supports them would say "This is not Justice" and fight back, and probably win, given how much support they actually have all over the world.

But how did they came to see themselves as living gods? The original Tenryuubito were supposedly liberators who fought against the tyranny of D and freed the world. That can be Marine/WG propaganda, but then again we know that Cobra's ancestor decided not to participate in the WG directly and instead remain as a local royalty to his people. This might be a clue to the fact that originally, the first of the Tenryuubito resembled the current King Cobra more than they resembled the current Tenryuubito.

But even if the new WG somehow manages to protect against ridiculous amount of narcissism, it still won't allow them to care for real people instead of their institution. This is the way of all globalist administrations. If you own a farm but don't tend to it personally, and instead you allow someone else to do all the work there while you're living on the opposite end of the continent, you're not going to care if 1 out of 50 chickens just died, not in the same way that the farmer would. Did NATO care about Serbia? Not even a little bit.

The best option would be to dissolve the Marines, and instead allow kingdoms to have their own decentralized local militia defending them. Currently, all their potential soldiers are sponged up by the Marines, who only help those kingdoms if it suits them anyway.

The mystery of the Tenryuubito and how they came to have the kind of status and power they have now is still.. a mystery. Why anyone would submit to them in that way is kind of weird, but it likely relates to the Void Century, Joyboy, and the Poneglyphs.

As for the rest of the politics and logistics of a world-spanning police force, I agree with you and would never advocate for such a thing in real life, but One Piece is fiction and I don't think Oda's aim is to slide in some subtle jabs at Globalism. Even if it can be interpreted that way, that's more likely to do with the fact that the only way such an organization comes to power is through corruption and underhanded tactics, meaning it would be inherently evil and unjust from the start.

 No.840597

>>840591

I don't think Oda's trying to make any claims either. I'm just saying that the Revolutionaries, at best, are trying to slap a temporary bandaid on the problem. Calling them "good" for this reason alone feels like a stretch.

>But how did they came to see themselves as living gods?

That part is a bit ridiculous, since it's plainly obvious to everyone they aren't gods. They should have just gone with "god's chosen" like the last world government.

At the end of the chapter 909, Zorro said:

«Sorry, Kinemon» after killing that retarded.

-Kinemon said to stay discreet

-Zorro obviously failed is mission

-Wano's authority might be aware of that samourai being a foreigner

My theory is, Zorro killed that guy because he did something related to his past and he (Zorro) didn't manage to keep is calm.

Also, I think the wano arc will be the most beloved arc when it will be animated.

Did you manage to find hidden things in this chapter?

He killed that guy because he was the local mass murderer. His crimes got framed on Zoro and that's why he was told to seppuku.

You have awful reading comprehension. Zoro was being accused of being a murderer by a guy who wanted his sword. Zoro smelled that the guy reeked of blood and correctly assumed he was the real murderer. Zoro, being a true good guy at heart and also wanting his sword back, decided to the the least inconspicuous thing he could, and murdered the fuck out of the dude. He apologized to Kinemon because he was blowing his cover and causing a scene.

There's no hidden meaning.

Figures Zoro would just casually roll around with his legendary lost Wano sword on full display. Never bring Zoro or Luffy on infiltration missions.

So, i've had this theory for a long time that awakening your devil fruit for some reason increased your height. This is based on the fact that every awakened devil fruit user we've seen has been giant and most have the same proportions. The admirals, Katakuri, Doflamingo, the Zoans in Impel Down... I've heard it suggested Crocodile is an exception, but ge has the same proportions, and we don't know what Ivankov meant about his secret past, maybe he used to be tiny.
