I will post a few bits of random pertinent information because I am like many of you.
I wish you all the best in this crazy world. Try to -do- good. God knows the world needs it.
> My posts will merely be points of interest that YOU should further research on your own. Never take anyone's word for it and use intelligent discretion. You will need to employ both right and left brain thinking and understand symbolic language to have a real grasp on things. Feel free to contribute information on any tangent I provide.

To start lets look at states within states nicely marked for us with beautiful ancient Egyptian obelisks.
The Washington Monument
> Center of World Politics
The Vatican
> Center of World Religious influence
The City of London
> Financial Center of the World

Here we have some cryptic imagery at the IRS HQ - The center for tax farming a countries human cattle.
The symbolism is quite 'black and white' - do you know of any secretive institutions that use such a dualistic color scheme?
Also a conveniently placed pyramid with the capstone being white.
- But which stone will the builders reject? -

Facebook's cryptic message.
> Collect COLOSSAL amounts of HUMINT+ data in real time (stream, graph)
> Be able to read the narrative of the collective aggregate of society.
> Manipulate information exposure through complicated algorithms - controlling/shifting he narrative
> See effect in real time (feedback loop of Baseline data --> input --> new data --> output --> New baseline data --> input... ad infinum). This effects hundreds of millions of people directly, and many more indirectly
Facebook is just one of MANY sites manipulated in this way (live data, algorithmic manipulation of data displayed, narrative/information control).
See: Reddit, comment sections on popular news websites, 4chan to some extent, youtube, ect).

>>957http://www.radiolab.org/story/trust-engineers/http://www.radiolab.org/story/darwins-stickers/it profiles the "Compassion Research Group" and facebook presents it as filling in the missing signals due to not having body language and other non verbal forms of communications. However, Radiolab has some good interviews and asks reasonable questions. The hosts feel differently so you get a bit of both sides.
I found it notable that they did not talk almost at all about their current use.

>>960Not that anon, but:
http://8ch.net/32/res/851.htmlWhen you say something to someone's face, you get a response that includes non-verbal aspects, such as facial expression and body language, which allow you to gauge the reception of what you said. On exclusively written communication, you don't get that. So being unable to measure such responses, facebook analyses the effects of an input by other means, such as by measuring rate of posting, or of conversation.
I suggest you listen to the podcast. It doesn't have any new information, but it may be interesting.

>>961Actually thought about this very topic recently. Go along with me for a moment.
> 1.The majority (or at the very least very many) of people get their media/news/social media while browsing from a device that has cameras facing your face (tablet, phone, laptop w. camera, ect).
> 2. Many apps (such as fb or even flashlight apps) give permissions to activate any number of hardware on these devices for use.
> 3. These permissions allow real-time face monitoring while simultaneously allowing real-time tracking of page displays (what media/information they are exposed to).
> 4. This means that as media/information is displayed facial cues can be recognized in real time in a parallel fashion. This would also strengthen the feedback loop I mentioned earlier. Additionally if you think there aren't algorithms designed to detect certain facial cues you're mistaken.
Also I would encourage the admin here to put ids in if possible as wasting time arguing with shills about intellectually complex topics can get cumbersome.

OP, can I suggest that you make specific threads for subjects that you believe deserve attention? It's not like the board is cluttered, and this thread seems a bit chaotic and aimless.
>>962I haven't noticed any shills on this board yet. Are you sure they aren't just people with different opinions, or who misunderstand things?

>>952I would say that alternative spaces like 4chan, 8chan, etc, are of particular interest because they represent places where contrarians congregate. These are people who may not otherwise be accessible on the main sites like fb and reddit. And, the anonymity aspect means that people may reveal more than they would otherwise. If I were in the business of collecting and analyzing data I would look very closely at imageboards for emerging trends.

>>970Very true.
Imageboards tend to be towards the top of the cultural propagation hierarchy on the internet (read: popular meme generation, little herd mentality) and thus have the greatest potential to cause change.
--
More popular sites generally serve to maintain populist narrative (generally leftist/marxist thought, and cultivate/propagate non-important information - aka timesinks) through reinforcement in herd mentality.
> In terms of resources per person I believe imageboards are much more heavily monitored and datamined - but the majority of monitoring goes on on populist websites (due to sheer mass). They also tend to freely give their info out without much prompting. I read something about the secret society that controls the arc of covenant that grants them eternal life is controlling the world, little by little. They are doing it slowly because people get used to it, people don't get spooked if the change of their environment is gradual. The empires under their control have been growing from egypt to the west since the dawn of humanity and when it comes full circle then it will be over.
The next one is china, although china is under huge control by communists they will brake it down.

>>970Discussion-based websites can be split into two categories:
Sites like Facebook, which require each comment to be attached to a persona, are relatively difficult to insert opinions into directly, but excellent for data mining. Anonymous boards have the opposite problem; it's far more difficult to track people, but a trivial task to plant opinions. Any half-competent organization could flood a board with thousands of posts pushing an agenda, and the result would be indistinguishable from a genuine user consensus.
(The only way to avoid this is to be a paranoid motherfucker and constantly double-check your thought process to see if it's evidence-based or if you're just going along with the flow. This is why I'm glad /32/ is a slow board; it give you time to think carefully. Fast boards are great for providing the instant gratification modern society demands, but cannot host legitimate discussion.)
Any COINTELPRO-esque operation would thus have two components; feeding in ideas at the mouth of the stream (discussion boards and news sites) and analyzing the subsequent effect on social media. This is simply the refinement of a process that's being going on since mass communication began. The Internet is a second control method; as well as manipulating the news, you can now create a fake consensus to aforementioned news to better shape popular opinion.
Note: this is a simplification. There will be a degree of data mining and idea-seeding on all websites. I'm simply trying to describe the general trend.
