Associated with water, life, rainbows, DNA, sometimes the sun. Also I'm christian traditions with Lucifer and Satan, the eternal enemy of many, the serpent seed the Sssynagogue of Satan, etc. The DNA connection is interesting given the possible ancient genetic engineering or tampering of life on earth by "gods" of a sometimes Serpentine nature. Is this a story of two warring races or bloodlines, or a throwback to our ancestral fear of things that slither in the darkness?
