Moved into town a while ago and I've been hearing the locals say there are faeries in a forest a few blocks from home.
My younger kids love going out there to explore and I usually let them spend hours doing so since my eldest (An adult) goes with them, but I admit those rumors have gotten to me.
So far none of them have spoken of any encounters, only they keep finding crystals and shiny stones in allegedly "weird" places such as tree hollows or high tree branches. Pic related.
What do you think /x/ is it safe to let them keep going there?

There are good fairies and evil fairies. I would stay vigilant in the wooded areas. Are you in Ireland?
Do you have any pictures of the shiny shoes in weird places?

I really hope you can find and befriend them. But be careful. Keep things smart and safe. Trail cams? If I get more ideas I'm going to check back. I want to believe, ive had my own experiences that make me feel something could be out there.

I lived though the West Coast the forest in Northern California going to Washington, Canada , regular nature is scary enough and I use to roam Oregons woods and many others when I was a teen they have eerie old ancient feeling especially oregons its prehistoric but never fairies or bigfoots. Just creepy ass cults, serial killers, government ops, mafia and drug rings.

I met some before, they got different personalities just like people. This red spirit orb looking one in particular showed me its power, they are able to travel insanely fast without making any noise at all and are able to chose who sees them. I was with a friend and he was right next to it, and didn't see it. They weave in the air like glowing butterflies and get excited easily.
