I was thinking of lowering a vertical concrete ring every 2 meters but it's not possible to do that in the long run. Not cheap enough.

Making a lift/elevator that could lower me and leave a 1 meter gap that I could use to dig under the elevator was the best I could came up with. Pic related. I could use a hydraulic breaker to dig.

Figuring out how to make a lift that could be lowered to 2 km is something I'll think about.
