the 'Order of Nine Angels' is / was the main / most recent group to promote and adhere to "Theistic satanism" (Though even calling them 'Satanist' is a bit of stretch considering they also claimed to believe in Pre-Abrahamic Paganism shit like norse gods and shit as well also they were apparently very right wing in terms of their political thinking and were basically edgy racists who ironically eventually got caught selling people into sex slavery to a gang of muh muslims so im not sure they should exactly be viewed as the best role models

If this is so, then Theistic Satanists would actually be similar to Wiccan ritual, where the power of the deities that are within your pantheon are stored up in what the Wiccans call The Stone God/Goddess.
Such symbols are used as a tool to help focus psychic power and energy.
LaVeyan Satanism (at least as LaVey had mentioned) taught there was no god, not even Satan, and the Satanist does not waste their time worshiping and asking boons from imaginary constructs; but instead to focus on accomplishing one's goals using their own power of will.
But hey…I'm not an expert on this, nor do I really care to be.
LaVey was a carnival guy, a circus act. He was a showman.
He would not be considered a Theistic Satanist.

I mean, c'mon. Feel free to think that theistic Satanism is dumb, but we *are* talking about the worship of the main villain of the Christian cosmology here. Indeed, you've summed it up pretty well. LaVeyan Satanism is really just atheism disguised as occultism. It uses occult and diabolical imagery to troll Christians, but that's it. Anton LaVey himself was, as you say, a showman who made a schtick out of this.
He was also technically a vampire, though he was raised without religion and didn't seem to care much about this whole vampireish heritage thing.

I would recommend starting with naos by ona. It's easy to get trapped in reading vague and boring mss when it comes to o9a, but you will learn (probably).

The very essence of Satanism is strong willful determination despite the consequences. And yes, ironically, the Talmud and the ancient Judiac scriptures are fantastic examples of Satanistic tendencies. However, Satan, as a character, doesn't come up in the old scriptures very often - explicitly and by name.
Satanism, as a theistic religion, requires no participation on your behalf. If you love Satan, just keep doing whatever it is you're doing. If some element of its mortal inclinations are so inclined to reach out to you, they will. Until then, you are so far less of interest to them that they couldn't be bothered.
