I read a lot about the Paris catacombs, I also went there a few years ago. It was said that there are very strange things taking place in the secret and not public parts of the catacombs.. does anyone here knows more about this?

Not really, they just tell you that there is a 99% chance that you die if you go there alone because I think there are about 200km of tunnel that just a few people know. They are called „Cataphiles“ and are a small group of people which explore the not known parts of the catacombs. They also create maps for themselves. There are a few Interviews with Cataphiles where they talk about what they saw. Its mostly drug deals and some kids trying to see something scary but a few times they found dead bodies and even objects and hints for rituals.

I was also there some years back; I made off with pieces of a Frenchmen skulls in my bag which somehow made it in the checked-in baggage through another three countries.
Regardless, the Catacombs are perhaps the most memorable place I've ever been to.

Yes, beyond the possible supernatural aspect, the catacombs are by nature an ideal hideout for small groups wanting isolation one way or another, even if it's shit as benign as hanging out in a cool place. You have to be seriously organized to safely pull this kind of stunt though. The areas they let you visit are large, well lit and with indication, but venture off the fenced off areas and it's a genuine, gigantic maze.
