Anyone want to start a thread on predictive programming, culture creation, and possible use of mass media for ritualistic purposes? I always find these topics interesting.

I've never understood the deep fascination some people have with this kind of stuff, to be honest. First of all, there's no way to tell if an artist is using certain symbols because the Illuminati told him to, or he's trying to expose them, or he just thinks it looks cool. But let's say the Illuminati or some other secret society is putting their symbolism in the media… okay, so what?

It's not the symbols that interest me so much as the crafting of narratives.

Take the final season of GoT. The threat of the white walkers, which was always an analogy for global warming is brushed aside, as if it was nothing but a paper tiger. Then Daenerys, the far left SJW/Communist Revolutionary character, leads a foreign army into the capital city, leaving it in ruins, before the remaining male leads, who up to this point had been weakly allowing all of this to happen, rise up and put a stop to it. But all of this is just setting the stage for the throne to go to Bran. Now Bran is barely human, He's a living database of all of the information available to humanity and then some.

See what I'm alluding to here? GoT has been the story of all of these modern manufactured social conflicts playing out, and the end result is all of the major power structures being smashed, and humanity finding itself under the control of AI.

So, why would they show us a thing like this? Simple unconscious conditioning, or something more? Could it be that having enough eyes on such a thing actually lends the power that can set the events in order?

It means something to Christians who think of the occult as evil and predict an end of the world where they become oppressed and tortured. The Illuminati is also often seen as totalitarianism.

>>50315

I would believe this even though I never watched the show because of how many liberals jumped on GoT.

I think you're reading way too much into it, anon. The man who wrote the books just wanted to make money writing fantasy novels. The people who turned his stories into a tv show just wanted to make money and win awards, and I really doubt they were trying to convey some great message about the future of mankind.

>>50322

They jumped on it because the writers of the show were themselves liberals, and pandered to that kind of demographic.

I mean, what about Weir and the grove? Culture creation is honestly simple with the way our celebrity hierarchy works. It's your weekly televised programming. It isnt something new. New slaves to the economic whale.

TV brainwashing is old hat and no longer occurs on any meaningful scale. The internet is a waaay better vector for conditioning. It's accessed more frequently, it can target specific individuals, it can have host mind-altering content that TV can't broadcast, and most importantly, there's constant feedback so it's actually possible to see what's working and what isn't. Why risk your Hollywood money spinners when everyone has a far more effective conditioning tool right in their pocket anyway?

I know this probably isn't what you wanted to hear and it might seem like i'm being a killjoy, so I will offer this - Roman Polanski's Chinatown. This film is crammed full of occult symbolism and hidden winks to Polanski's friends in high places. This one's the real deal, so if you enjoy picking things apart for secrets I think you'll appreciate it.

the form of media/outlet for "the message" matters little. some ways reach some people better than other people, such is life. it is wrong, in my opinion, to take this idea and use it to claim that "the message" only gets broadcast on certain wavelengths/devices/forms of media.

Sure, which is why there's such a big push against "fake news" right now. They know they can never control the flow of information on the internet, but they can delegitimise and deplatform while pushing their approved sources. Instead of the information being gone, it's just impossible to find and stuck with the "misinformation" label.

>>50430

>the form of media/outlet for "the message" matters little

Strongly disagree, some forms of media are much more viable for use in conditioning than others. I agree it's widespread across everything, but there are preferred means.

>it is wrong, in my opinion, to take this idea and use it to claim that "the message" only gets broadcast on certain wavelengths/devices/forms of media.

It's just my personal bias I guess, i'm a little tired of TV and movies getting blamed for all this junk while vidya, anime and the internet get a free pass. It's typical for the younger crowd of this site to be extremely critical of legacy media while avoiding any scrutiny of the new media that they engage with.

Where attention goes, energy flows.

Nowadays there is a lot of really ham-fisted and incompetent social engineering in most media, but that's pretty easy to spot if you're not a completely indoctrinated golem. I don't think that's what being talked about though. There are different kinds of "messages",

>predictive programming

Basically attempting to meme something into reality.

>occult evangelism

Vril: the Power of the Coming Race is usually presented as a fantasy the Teutonic secret societies were hoodwinked into thinking was real, when in reality it was probably the other way around. A novel that was written as a tract to promote the teachings of the Germanic secret societies while maintaining plausible deniability. Every once in a while I come across something that seems to fit this model, but it's comparatively rare.

>whistle blowing

Sometimes I think certain authors or directors want to expose something to the public, but the secret is either to dark or strange or big to be believed if simply stated outright, or they are constrained by oaths and will get fucking murdered and so will craft an allegory or include detailed, specific information in their work that they shouldn't know, and hope that brighter members of the public, or maybe certain of those "in the know" will pick up on what's going on. Examples might include stuff like A Clockwork Orange or, significantly more obscurely, the "Hormagaunt" business going on in Jack Vance's The Killing Machine.

>inspiration

In my opinion, sometimes things are just too obscure, deep4u, anachronistic or complicated for humans to have engineered, and are the work of the "muses". This is probably the most important category.

One thing I find very curious is how the whole SJW thing seems to have been set up, in order to be knocked down. That's what the end of GoT represents to me. Very curious to see where the next Star Wars film goes, due to the obvious cultural significance. If they do go ahead and have Rey turn to the dark side, similar to Daenerys, we'll know something's up.

What does this spell in terms of cultural change? A move back toward something more traditional and masculine? Why? Perhaps so that can be knocked down at a later date?

Interesting how most everyone ignores the fact that iPhones are highly addictive. Not talking about checking Facebook (that's another subject) or emails or browsing the news…I'm talking about the literal frequency of the wireless combined with iPhone tech. There's something wrong there…no one says it's. Every watch your local news (which is just an off-shoot of AP news) and for some reason the anchors are holding cell phones/tablets, but sometimes aren't even looking at them? Like why even have them in the shot? BECAUSE they are addictive and they want to remind you whilst watching TV to be looking/holding your iPhone. It's fucked up. It's just interesting to notice how no one ever talks about it.
