Thanks anon, I found some good shit on there. There's some surprising quality there. A lot of shit to wade through, but some decent quality writing. With an editor and a proof-reader some of these people could easily get published in anthologies.

If you're at that point where even maladaptive daydreaming doesn't work any more, you may want to consider that maybe it's a blessing in disguise. What I mean is, you now have no other choice but to confront reality and fix whatever's wrong in your life. In so doing, your self-esteem will go up and ironically, you'll regain the ability to retreat into your fantasy world (but you should resist the temptation to do that).

Are you sure about that? I won't deny that there are problems that can't be fixed, but in my experience, most of the problems people have don't fall into that category. Usually, when a situation seems hopeless, it's just because we lack the knowledge of what to do about it, or we're stuck in a negative feedback loop.
