You could practice mindfulness and after enough mindfulness of your body you could mindfully fall asleep and begin dreaming, a state where you may now asstral project

lay down in bed, get as comfy as possible (minimal physical sensation) somewhere you wont be interrupted

silence or ambient/psy/psytrace type music, avoid lyrics

then you have to think, because the more you think, the less you feel, you want to get the "feel" knob down to zero. You do this by imagining, concentrate for a long time, it could take an hour, it should be noticeable your perception is changing relatively soon, if you feel like you're just sitting there try again later.

Imagine yourself somewhere, that has to be the most effective method. Once you go a relatively long amount of time imagining, you'll have maybe 5 minutes where you're doing something somewhere and you realize your physical body was absent the whole time. After that it's just a matter of honing your skills. You can do things you couldn't imagine

also, despite what one often hears, sleep paralysis can be your friend. sleep paralysis can be used as a launchpad for astral projection, provided you can stay focused and not become lost in fear.

Take some psyches, pic related. Combine with trying above mentioned techniques and look out for parapsychological threats that cannot be described here, whatever the fuck those are. Glow in the darks have to be speshul even when they possess evidence they are not.

I have only ever experienced sleep paralysis once in my whole life and this is what exactly happened. I was "hovering" through dark streets of the city I used to live 4 years ago. It lasted a short time because my paralysis happened when I was lying on my side I believe.

>Take some psyches, pic related.

Can recommend.

Prior to taking mushrooms I had experienced the vibrational stage but never got past it.

Taking shrooms "unlocked" my ability to astral project. Can't say how many times you'll have to dose, maybe only once if you go in with the intention, for me it was unexpected and unintentional. I never dosed particularly high either.

I can project now without any help.

OP, the best tip I can give is stop trying so hard.

I find that (visually) thinking about something vaguely technical and interesting prior to falling asleep, does the job of keeping me conscious while my body goes to sleep.

Then when the vibrations start, don't panic, and don't get excited, ride them out.

When they stop try getting out of bed.

My biggest problem now is not realizing I'm OOB and going back to sleep.

You do tests, you examine new information while you're OOB and then check it once you're back in your own body.

At least that's what I'd do if I could AP, but I'm also a newfaggot and I've heard conflicting stories on whether the Astral Plane is a 1:1 copy of earth or not.

sleep on your back. other than that, it helps to be coming off of sleep deprivation/intense exhaustion/anxiety. try to stay awake for more than 24 hours beforehand if you're having trouble triggering it

Sometimes I try astral projecting and my temples and forehead start twitching like crazy. What does that mean? I'm pretty sure it's not the vibrational stages.

Is this the designated astral phasing thread?

I just tried to do astral phasing out of nowhere, (I have a lot of time wasted on /x/ shit, some of it never even been mentioned here but I'd better not mention it myself, other than that it's mental and willpower self-fuckery, meditation, intense focusing, psychic shit, cursing shit, hallucination control and servitormancing in general under my belt), you know, just because I remembered it's a thing. Since every guide I saw about this is either a lowkey satanic ritual or a "just, like, focus bro, focus your inner energies to a different plane man, lmao", I went for the archetype of the second one. Around 80 seconds later, for a glimpse of a moment, I saw the scenery and my room in the left side of my peripheral vision turn into a dark-red mess, rubbish everywhere, sky is red, clouds are red, everything covered in a dark-red glossy paste. Couldn't achieve anything on my second try but I think I heard some weird bird sounds. Third try left me very tired and gave me nothing besides the intense fatigue.

I don't think I was LARPing, if I am deceiving you, then that means I was deceiving myself.

Am I doing it right or is it just the imaginary hallucinations kicking in only to satisfy my thirst for paranormal experiences?

Will try it again tomorrow btw.

Oh fuck, I misread the OP, it's projecting, not phasing.

>>46210

Well, projecting is fairly easier, most guides can help with this. It's so basic that even random tulpa guides include it for exercise.

>>49476

>temples and forehead start twitching like crazy

>What does that mean?

I think it means you're doing it right, since that's your body making confused responses to your astral projection observations/sensory pseudoinput. That, or something tried to posses your body while you were astral projecting so it activated a defense mechanism of sorts. I had some mild convulsions when I successfully attempted switching with my tulpa (you could say it's a bit more complex form of astral projecting).

I've sort of self-induced sleep paralysis through imagining/tuning my ears to a vibration that I recall hearing/feeling in my head one time. I really should fuck with this sort of stuff more because I've had bizarre results before but I'm always lore concerned about getting a proper sleep or get spooked.

To describe the vibration feeling it's like they're entering my head through my ears. I've panicked before thinking there's something actually entering my head. Thankfully I don't often see crazy shit when feeling sleep paralysis or in a lucid dream and normally just get stuck in waking dream loops or getting super aggro at the weird things I do see.

>Body making confused responses

>Something trying to possess me

I should mention that I can basically cause the twitching on command if I close my eyes and imagine focusing a "beam of energy" to the area between my eyebrows for like 30 seconds. This twitching never happened when I first tried projecting and got really close but overexcited.

Basically it's changing your dimensional perception. But it's a bit more difficult than that. Want to know more? Spend 4 seconds at copying the "astral phasing" words, pasting into the textbox of your favourite search engine and press the "search" button. There are some nice articles waiting to be read by you. Even that one thread on plebbit is alright.

Somers when trying to reach the 3D Blackness, I almost get the focus and empty my mind of distracting thoughts but also end up holding my breath. Obviously I can't concentrate for very long like this. How do I stop that? Also when I get close to phasing my heart beats like crazy and I lose focus. Any tips for maintaining focus and stopping my inner voice from intervening?

Experiencing psychedelics at least a few times may help, but maybe not to actually do it.

I did it spontaneously after a good yoga session (lots of inversions, focused very strongly on my breath) while lying in a dark quiet room during Savasana.

I was lying there, breathing longer, deeper and slower and then I just floated up and out. Saw everything like I had x-ray vision.

It was really cool until I saw my body, and then I freaked out and shot back into it in an instant.

Spent the next 10 minutes until the session was over (there were other people practicing) lying there wondering WTF just happened.

>So what can you even do while astral projecting besides flying and shit?

For the short period I did it, I could see through and into everything. Wires and pipes in the walls, masonry blocks, etc. It was like I had Superman's X-ray vision (but in full color).

When I get to do it again, I'm going to peep the dark side of the Moon.

I'd be careful doing these things, I've read stories of people encountering some really nasty shit during some projections. Also if you meet a really pretty woman-ist thing with seductive, run away cause it's more than likely a succubus and contrary to anime they are like soul vampires and can kill or curse you.
