Check yourself into a local hospital. One of two things happened, and this will help you in both cases.

1. This is a dissociative fugue and you're not who you think you are, walking into buildings you don't work at, coming home to an apartment you never rented, attempting to use your debit card with an incorrect PIN, and trying to seek help under a fake name. The hospital will check you in under "John Doe," ask you some questions, do some genetic forensics, and help you recover. You're on your own with the bills though.

2. Some unknown force is actually wiping all your records. The hospital will check you in under "John Doe," ask you some questions, do some genetic forensics… and find nothing. You'll end up being a famous amnesia case, get help from charities, and eventually start living under a new identity. Assuming whatever nonpersoned you doesn't do it again when you check out…

This is a good post. OP, since this guy didn't define it for you I'll give you the gist of "dissociative fugue." It means that one day you just leave home and start living as an alternate personality. In a way, you are who you think you are, but you shouldn't exist. You're a breakoff of your host body's mind, the main part of which has gone dormant for some reason or other. You need to be brought back into the main personality so it can resume its normal life. This is, of course, assuming that dissociative fugue is what's happening.

Some more /x/-tier possibilities include that you were berenstein'd into a universe where you never existed, or that some elite picked you for the target of his latest practical joke. Either way going to the hospital is probably your best bet to make all this end. Or you could become a criminal mastermind and enjoy years of avoiding capture due to no documentation on your existence. Or you could head deep into some state park and live innawoods without having to pay taxes due to not officially existing. But the hospital is probably your best bet, unless it's an elite fucking with you and he intends to kill you if you fuck up his joke.

I agree with the dissociative fugue ideas. Just like multiple personalities, and people waking up speaking in another accent, I believe you may feel you are someone else.

In another more /x/ realistic theory, the government has to "test" how they could "erase" someone. They would have to test reactions as well. DON"T ASSUME THIS IS WHAT IS HAPPENING. ASSUME THE FORMER.

Hi all. It's me, OP. I'm going to be brief, because I'm only getting a little time on the wifi. First of all, let me thank everyone who suggested I seek medical care. That's the issue. Turns out, I have a huge tumor in my head, and it's affecting my brain in some weird ways.

The hospital took fingerprints, and DNA, and have identified me. I am NOT who I thought I was. I have no idea where I got the wallet and ID of the person I thought I was, and no idea WHY they are a dead ringer for me.

I'm on some meds right now, which are helping even out the chemical imbalance that the tumor is causing. I'm going to be moved to a VA hospital on Friday, because it turns out I was in the Army from 1992 to 2000.

Unless this is a complex ruse, I'm going to just go along with it… As afraid as I am. I'll be getting some more wifi time later this week. I'll attempt to update this thread then. Even though it appears to not actually be /x/ related.

Your brain can do weird shit when it wants to trick you man. There are cases of things like schizophreniacs seeing people throw chairs out of windows, and the chair really was thrown out of the window, but actually the schizophreniac threw it out himself and hallucinated that someone else did it. It's possible that you got a fake ID made without being conscious of what you were doing, or that your brain manufactured a temporary alternate personality to do it for you before you became who you thought you were.

Hi all, OP here again.

I have about an hour of free time, before I have to go for some more tests. Did an MRI early this morning, the results show that my tumor is about the size of a "shooter" marble, about 25mm in diameter. The good news is, the are no other signs of cancer in any of the tests they have so so far, so they think it's non-malignant.

And now, the bad news. They aren't sure it can be removed. But, the doctors here are going to let the VA docs make the final call on that. The meds they have me on are helping a lot. Until they don't, and I'm 110% sure I'm being held against my will in some facility. Thankfully, those episodes are not very common.

I have other bad news as well. I found out I have family out there, but apparently I did something pretty bad, because when I called the person who I was told was my mother, she said that her son was a decade dead, and hung up. It didn't really upset me much, because honestly? I don't remember a mother. Or any family at all.

Well, I still have some time, and I'm going to monitor this thread until I have to go for more tests. Thanks /x/ for sticking with me.

If this is really something /x/-tier, here's what likely happened:

OP was an army vet who was involved in one of the CIA's infamous "MK" experiments a decade ago. Instead of just amnesticizing him and letting him go they drilled a new identity into him, told his family he was KIA, and some paper-pusher accidentally filed the wrong identity for termination. He is now back in the lab getting treated a second time, alongside the paper-pusher who just got fired.

Hello again. I think this is the right thread, on the right site. I'm not 100% sure, since I'm having a lot of trouble reading the handwriting in this journal that I'm supposed to have written.

I'm the "OP" of this thread, or I should say I'm pretty sure that I'm the "OP". I've read through the tread, and some of it, especially the later posts. The doctors at the VA were able to remove the tumor, and they are "pretty sure" that it won't come back. Since then, I have been recovering, relearning a few skills, and trying to recover as much of my recent past as I can.

I don't remember a whole lot of what I did, and what happened to me, for the last almost year and a half. I apparently tried to keep a journal, but I can barely read the handwriting, which doesn't look like what my handwriting (as bad as it is) looks like now.

I'd like to thank you all one more time. I'm not sure if I will revisit this place again. I might, but I'm not sure.

Or it is an experiment in which, as in the move "Erased", the subject is investigated as to how they will respond to forced "depersonalization". This is not the normal way that someone becomes depersonalized. This is by force in that external sources of reinforcement and verification are neutralized. Then the experiment is to see how this purely external reduction of the person affects his personality. There can be many derivative studies based on what results. They could study how he chooses to react to the changes. Whether his moral compass is altered and by what means it is anchored. All that be as it may, there is a certain "gap" in the story. He/she doesn't speak of attempting to interact with people that were known, such as people that he/she would interact with on a daily basis. And to me, that is a very glaring gap. Normally when people run into hard times, it can come in the form of any of the events described. But in any of those cases, what is the first thing they do? Rely on their friends, family and acquaintances. Anyone, dissociated or not, would seek such a thing. None of that was mentioned.

I surmise this is a LARP based upon that.
