Whether or not you live in a simulation is irrelevant. Everything you know remains the same. So does everything you don't know. Your bills are still due, you still need to lose weight (don't lie, fatty), and your girlfirend is still a bitch.

Whether or not there are "higher" beings who have engineered our universe is meaningless. Either we are the point of the simulation, or we are an emergent property of the code they didn't expect and probably haven't even noticed yet. There is little to no evidence of any form of deity in this universe. Our world acts according to natural law without fail. You can take that as evidence that we're either unnoticed, or simply observed and not interacted with.

Thus, there is no practical difference between your classical view of existence and the "simulation" view.

We're living in a simulated reality, but that's only so we can cultivate without having to deal with the overwhelming information about the rest of the universe. When you look up at the sky, you're looking at a projection of what it would've looked like before all of the activity that would be seen now, and many bodies are being metaphysically controlled by outside ET sources as well, which may explain the feeling you get when speaking to a person who doesn't exactly seem real.

One of the best arguments for god is straight up mathematics. The odds of a universe being as perfect as it needs to be to create life is insane. You could cover the entire planet in 0s with a nano font and still not have enough room for how unlikely it is to be written down. We don't get a lot of spam - barely any in fact, compared to other boards - and I can see those threads you mentioned just like you do. I just prefer to take a relaxed approach to moderation because I hate it when mods try to micromanage a board and impose their own opinions on the community.

As you may or may not have noticed, we only have 3 rules here. No cp (global rule), no politics, and check the catalog before making a new thread. That's it. The 3rd rule used to be no gore/porn, but we don't seem to have a problem with that kind of content, so I've recently changed it to one more useful. There is no rule against making weird and low quality threads, because 1. weird threads are not that weird on /x/, sometimes they can be interesting, or the work of a genuinely schizophrenic person 2. there is no universal standard for what makes a thread better than another, and my own standards almost certainly are different from those of the majority of users here.

Also, those threads never get reported, so I assume the community doesn't mind them all that much. Sometimes I do miss an obviously spammy thread, sometimes it's hard to tell if a thread is spam or the OP is actually trying to say something meaningful and just presented his ideas in a way that makes it easy to discard them. Once in a while I check the catalog and delete a few threads with 0 replies or stupid threads that I'd only left up in case someone found them interesting. But even so, a lot of threads remaining are not what I would call good quality.

My suggestion is: post more of the kind of content you'd like to see and don't reply to threads that seem like spam/bait to you. If you see a thread that doesn't break the rules but you still think it should be deleted, post about it in the meta thread (which is where we should be having this kind of discussion), because the report function doesn't allow me to reply back to the person who makes the report (only take action against the post or dismiss the report).
