Okay so this will probably disappoint everyone but it happened yesterday while I was trying to sleep, I'm not sure I can put it into words. As someone who doesn't believe in a lot of spooky /x/ stories because they're too surreal I heard something unnatural that makes me question my beliefs.
First a background:
The animals in my whole neighborhood spend the night barking, nobody thinks it's weird because you can hear car engines all night long so it probably startles them.
So I sleep right besides the window in my room, I cover the window up with blankets to keep light from coming in during sunrise.
It was maybe 2am, I was half asleep and half up in that weird state you're not really conscious but you are.
That night for some reason I start paying attention to the animal growls that I usually filter out as background noise, I think it was because of the cats who are normally silent.
I was laid down on my bed behind the window.
So that was when I heard the most horrific sound ever through the window, In the relatively quiet night I can hear singular car engines and dog barks at ranges such as 300 meters. But this, it was some sort of unnatural sound that I could tell it was loud but I didn't hear it loud because it was much farther away. Maybe 900 meters? Picture a reverberating wolf bark mixed with one of those squishy toy hammers, don't imagine them playing togheter at once, imagine the 2 sounds perfectly fused. Now imagine it was as if someone was hammering the wolf that made this noise.
The ranges are obviously not exact but they give you an idea
So at first it was far away but it kept moving and It went from 900m southeast to 600m northeast, then it just shot up to the sky somewhere high up to the east, then it came back to its original 900m southeast position. All the while the growl was played as if someone was hammering the wolf-squishy-thing and it made the noise. Once it started to move it was harder to hear because every animal around stopped ognoring it, the cats were meowing, the dogs barking and you could hear birds chirping scared. I started getting scared and then I fell asleep (I was still half asleep up until I slept).
I forgot about it entirely until for some reason I came here, made a few posts and the memory + a lot of chillls came back.
