Imagine if you will:

You are an American scientist, overseeing some of the most important weapons development projects in the country. WWII is over, but the Cold War is in full swing. You've recently been testing some nukes. Things are busy, and you are constantly looking over your shoulder for spies. There are very few people you trust. Most of them are your friends who helped out in Asia during the war. And maybe a few of the good ol' boys.

One afternoon you get a call. The man on the other end of the line is panicking. He tells you that you need to come to New Mexico. Something's happened and you have to see it. Now. He refuses to say anything more over the phone.

You know what this could mean. A jet is scrambled and you fly over.

When you arrive, the local commander takes you to the site. There's a bunch of metal debris and a body under a sheet. He draws your attention to something, and you move in closer for a look. Some of the metal is covered in an East Asian script. You recognize the logo of the Chinese Communist Party. You tell the commander that you will have some trustworthy men coming in to examine all this. But on first glance, the technology is far more advanced than anything either US or the USSR possesses. At least, as far as you know. The commander suggests in a hushed tone that, although it's extremely deformed, in his opinion the body might be human.

China has been a black hole for a few years now. However, reliable Soviet reports have indicated this was not due to weapons development.

First, you make sure this is highly classified. Nobody you don't personally know and trust can even get close. You start working to shield it from other parts of the government you suspect might be compromised. For research, you recruit anyone who might understand this and is an avowed anti-Communist. Including former Nazis. As the technology is examined you discover new metals. Silicon transistors. Radar evasion technology. Superconductors. But the locomotion of the vehicle (it's clearly a vehicle) still defies conventional physics. You form a crack team to gather reports of all encounters with these craft from whomever you can find. They torture them, if necessary. The farther back you go as you pour through government records, the more you begin to understand.

This isn't space travel. It's time travel.

Not only that, these "aliens" have been experimenting on humans, plants and animals throughout history. They gave us wheat. And corn. Both were genetically modified with their technology. In fact, it slowly becomes clear: there would not have been a western civilization but for these future humans.

And then, years later as you review your documents in a newly-formed deep state shell company, suddenly it hits you. By creating your past, they've insured their future. You can't attack them without destroying yourself.

And now you know. One day, inevitably, the Chinese Communist Party will control the world. They will alter reproduction and the human genome so much, that they will drive themselves to the brink of extinction. They are plundering the past for genetic data and experimentation. They are here to save their future. Which is also now your future. Or else you won't exist.

You are gonna have to work really hard to make this story not retarded, going forward in time is doable, but back in time is almost impossible.

The future humans made our civilization? Then where did the future humans come from? Did they naturally develop over thousands of years? Did they have an entire history independent of ours? If so, then how is there a Communist Chinese Party, something that only exists because of western civilization? If they've been influencing the past, to the point that western civilization only existed because of them, how have they not wiped themselves out already?

And if you can travel back in time, whats stopping someone from going nuclear and destroying humanity at all points in time? Hell, just sending one nuke back on a timer to the middle of an American city would probably fuck things up beyond repair. And what the fuck, they gave us wheat and corn? It only existed because of their technology? And pray, how did they get that technology without food products like that? Why would they send them back? Genetic modification of maize into corn happened in less than a couple hundred years by people without laboratory technology, what do you think really goes into that?

The guy won't exist if he tries to stop them? Why? Because then nobody will send back the shenanigan for him to dedicate his life to? Option A, he exists, but now as a normal person who hasn't dedicated years of research to this retarded story. Option B, he continues existing, but with no memory of what he's been up to. Option C, by doing so, he enters a new timeline and continues existing in a future that is now devoid of Communist time travellers, but where the memory of their existance remains.

I should elaborate on something, being able to go back in time would have already led to our destruction because while there is a limited amount of history to destroy, there is infinite time in the future for destroyers to come from.

Well written, OP. However I disagree with the notion that the greys are Chinese space travellers, for the simple reason that if you modified the past, you'd end up creating an alternate future. You wouldn't be able to modify your own timeline. Also, I think the greys are just artificial lifeforms created by the nordics. If I'm not mistaken, it was mentioned in Sumerian mythology that the gods looked just like us and they had servants who were basically all clones of each other. That's also the impression that many witnesses have, that they feel greys are not alive in the same sense as us, almost robotic in nature.

Your post reminded me of something, though. The so-called 'men in black' who appear out of nowhere, visit people involved in UFO research, and then disappear just as mysteriously… They're usually described as Asian-looking, with slanted eyes, olive skin and black hair. I'm not sure what that means but I thought it might be relevant. To be honest I don't think they're even human, given how strangely they behave, but the fact that they supposedly look like Orientals has always intrigued me.

I definitely agree on something. Aliens (or whatever they are) gave us wheat and potatoes, along with writing and other things that are necessary for civilisation to flourish. This all goes back to antediluvian (Atlantean) civilisation, but that's another story…
