Hey all, I've been searching for an answer to this for a long time. Im not even sure how to describe it in words that accurately portray what I am talking about.

I have this person in my life. For lack of a better word my 'soulmate'. I started noticing and joking about peculiar occurrences and we both thought it was a really funny coincidence but nothing more. But now Im convinced its real..

We seem to be bonded at the spiritual level or something, I could be halfway across the country and be having a bad day, and it will turn out so is she. Not just a bad day, but in exactly the same way. Or we would say the same exact thing at the same exact time about something there was no way in hell we would be able to predict the other would say. Or "hey I was thinking about getting this for this persons birthday" as I literally just hit checkout on amazon for the same thing. And its not just once in a blue moon coincidences, its extremely frequent.

I was entertaining the idea that maybe we were somehow reading each others minds and that was affecting ourselves. But that's not the case.

Recently she was diagnosed with an illness, nothing bad just a muscle thing that is fixed with physical therapy but its also something pretty uncommon. Not long after I was diagnosed with the same thing (and its not contagious).

And then she was diagnosed with something else, also not contagious, also fairly rare, and I was diagnosed with the same damned thing.

Ive never experienced this with anyone else and it started the moment I met her which happened just after I had started seriously delving into esoteric teachings rhp type stuff Its almost like I willed into existence a perfect clone of myself in female form.

Anyone know of literature on this type of thing? I havent been able to find any. I mean it could just be massive amounts of confirmation bias but I don't believe thats the case.

Are those diseases hereditary? Could be a sort of long lost sister sort of deal. Or maybe a brother and sister loving each other a little bit too much a while ago, resulting in you two today.****

In terms of practical logic, that's probably the only possible reason for your situation.

Otherwise, you guys might share the same soul or something.

This was my first thought as well. I suppose it's possible that OP and his girlfriend are connected on a metaphysical level, but it seems more likely that they're genetically related. His post reminded me of those stories about twins separated at birth who reunited after many years and realised how similar their lives had been. I suggest that you both get your blood analysed, especially if you're going to have children.

Jung wrote about synchronicities, which is basically the idea that incredible coincidences can be explained by saying that everything is connected at a higher level of reality.

I'm no expert on magic so I might be wrong, but I think magic still needs to obey the law of cause and effect. I've never heard of someone affecting the past with a spell, but maybe you did something that caused you two to meet each other. That wouldn't be unheard of.

no not hereditary, all of my health problems are either directly from an accident I had or come secondary, as in caused later on by the problems caused by the injury.

And I dont think a distant genetic relationship is possible because my great grandparents were from an entirely different part of europe than hers were. And I've already had a kid with her, who came out perfectly healthy. I'll fork out some money on dna testing when I have the cash for it though.

I should read more of jungs work I guess, cuz I hadnt seen his input on synchronicities. It sure seems like that is the case.. Like we managed to 'find each other on a metaphysical level and unconsciously tap into each others thoughts/feelings.
