Pertaining to the lastgift file:
If you rename the file to .mp3, then you get a 1 hour and 26 minute audio file. It only seems to play for a couple of seconds before cutting out. I tried opening it in audacity to view the waveforms, but it only recognizes a second of audio. I then tried Adobe Audition, which didn't even recognize the file. I also ran it through an exif-recognition software to make sure that mp3 was the proper container, and lo and behold the software recognized a bunch of exif data from the file. However, it only appears to recognize 43 minutes of audio. See the pic related. Also worthy of note is the CCIT J.17 emphasis tag. It's only used with mp3 files as far as I can tell, so it must be an mp3.

Yo man I've given up on this as my box is a POS and can't really handle decrypting, or seems to hang when I try, but here's what I got so far:
The lastgift file is a veracrypt volume. You need to download veracryps and mount the lastgift file to access the contents.
The poster of the R13 URL that the lastgift file came from advised that there are hidden volumes within the lastgift volume.
If you mount the file with the following password it APPARENTLY gives you an interracial porn pic and a text file with bullshit like "poop poop wee wee etc":

Now the interracial pic and text are apparently only ~2mb in size, which leaves a lot of room unaccounted for in the 10mb volume. This may lend credence to the theory that their is a hidden volume.
I don't know how veracrypt works well enough to go any further than this. I'll proceed to supply the information that lastgift poster supplied regarding volume passwords:

As far as I'm aware, mounting a veracrypt volume with an correct but not CORRECT password opens the file but doesn't provide access to hidden volumes. Mounting with the correct password will yield access to the hidden volumes in which, presumably, the real picture is located.
As a final note, the following text was also included in the original R13 encoded URL thread that was promptly deleted on halfchan, where the lastgift file originated from:

The thread was real. The photo was real. The person claiming they were behind the incident is lying because the real photo looked nothing like their faked renders. The composition was similar, that's it. Why are they lying about it just being a prank they came up with in a discord group? The content was so serious that halfchan pol moderation was taken over by the FBI, who have had that authority since moot sold out to them in order to avoid prosecution for CP dissemination.
They literally direct all /pol/ traffic to their own servers, and FBI having ultimate mod authority explains why the board is so shit.FBI only cares about using /pol/ for profiling, domestcic terrorism surveillance, and selcective leaks (such as FBI anon from late 2016). FBI doesn't care about trolls, spam, and CTR.
When the pizzagate doxx were posted, FBI sperged out and closed the entire board while they did damage control. The alien pic furore that has lasted for weeks is nothing more than the FBI misdirecting gullible fools.
The original alien pic was only a trigger image, an emergency image that they post before nuking the board. Part signal, part excuse. It could have been a pic of anything conspiracy-related, it was just random luck that they had the alien pic on file.
