You have a misunderstanding of the theory, and of what is "real". Reality is a simulation of some kind, yes, but that doesn't mean it isn't real. It is as real as it has always been– being a simulation doesn't change that.
There is no "real" world outside it, just another simulation. All of reality is nested simulations within simulations– this dois s not mean that any particular reality is any more or or any less real than any other.
