Regarding your second question, there's certainly a possibility that those two alleged civilizations may have had contact and conflict. Some construe the ancient Indian Veda texts and Sanskrit epics regarding vimanas (flying machines with weapons equivalent to nukes) as a historical account of an ancient cataclysmic war between Atlantis and Mu. And the two simply nuked eachother into the ocean depths. Again, this is all speculation, but fascinating nonetheless.
