I think E621 has a decent system. Been posting some of my commissions there and rather than people having 10 different words for genitals like penis, dick, cock, schlong, wang etc. It converts all those words into 1 word one unified tag, so if there's someone posting a image with the tag cock, it converts it over to penis which i thing is its set word for male genitals.

Its also ran more like an archive, so random tags or tags that really have no point being there and are on like 1 image only are quickly dealt with.

Eka's doesn't have a good system because the community is ass. The thing with E621 is that it isn't a social platform so its taken care of more seriously with moderations and all that and frankly I like it alot, makes it easy to find an image via tags if you remember details of it.

Furaffinity is one where tagging is more or less dead. I only look on the browse tag of vore there, if I want to find an image I know there's basically no point trying to search to find it.

Been trying to fix the tags on wigward's stuff again after he reset the tags and added dragon back in but ever since he cried about people doing this shit I rarely see my tags getting accepted. I considered making an alt to accept the tags on since they really just need 1 extra vote for it to get added. Problem Is I've had a alt one time for commenting which got IP banned, luckily I managed to talk my way out of it but I don't want to push my luck in case they see this new account registered on the same IP.

As autism as it is, I've spent a good 20-30 minutes every couple days this past month mass retagging submissions. I delete all memetags, make sure furry, scat, digestion and gore are tagged, unify dupe tags, and add the genders of participants (but remove shit tags like m/fffffffffff, fucking Conn, god damn). Good content falls through the cracks and shitty art is unfiltered because of poor tagging.

As an artist on Eka it kinda annoys me when people mess with my tags. It's like I created this work and other people are deciding how to label it. I don't have autistic rage over it, just kinda annoys me.

Inkbunny has a good system for that. E621 its more people out of curtesy not fucking tags up. On Inkbunny however they have a system where you can set up whether or not you want people to suggest tags or not, and if people do suggest tag changes or additions they need to be confirmed by you.

I've been around for a while and eka's was never too harsh on any specific fringe fetish as long as it was related to vore. 4chan maybe, but not eka's.

Now, I really don't prefer to scat, diaper, CV, ect. content but I won't judge as there's a good system to avoid art with those in it, and most artists are kind enough to not include shit like that in the thumbnail.

For every one artist that spends a workday polishing a piece you got 30 scribbling out their stuff in an hour. So good stuff gets drowned easily.

There's always going to be poor quality art but that doesn't mean it should be hard to find good stuff. I been asking for a client side search feature of being able to sort/filter works by number of favorites, would make it incredibly easy to find fap fodder if you could just say "Only show me art with 100+ favorites". No hurt feelings by the beginners in way of negative votes, and those who sink time into getting good and putting out quality can be easily discovered. And all those 10+ year old works and one-off commission uploads by some user with only THAT one piece can be rediscovered.

Yes I did, went from utter garbage with the first picture I ever drew posted on the portal, to posting relatively decent art on the regular. So I know how it feels for both sides of the fence.

I'm going to be honest that good artists aren't going to provide critique at your level, it's a waste of time. You aren't going to understand well enough to fix it properly leading to both sides being frustrated, and the amount of errors in critiques for you would be soul crushing (and feels downright cruel for the artist providing critique) better to say simply someone should study a certain resource and see if they take the initiative to do so.

If you really want a critique, do it yourself! Find every error you can spot and ask around to see if others agree, and find out what you can do to improve those areas in the future. This is incredibly important in developing an observational skills, that way someday you can experience the constant joy of never living up to your own expectations by way of being able to instantly spot your every mistake in your art (and not knowing how to fix it).

People are going to feel comfortable helping those that self-reflect, it shows willingness to improve and that you are worth spending time on, and not going to be excessively butthurt. Not everyone deserves help, especially those that go "I know I'm bad but I'm not going to do anything about it" and some people don't even want advice, even when they claim to. Which comprises about 95% of beginning artists who eventually give up or eternally stagnate. Which is why they don't get help. Why help the vast majority when most will fail?

Yes that's true, people who put out art every day no matter how "simple" it is, they got the most attention. I noticed that as well, you art get sometimes lost behind the spam of simple art. Thats sometimes a bit demotivating, but I would never lower my quality to get more views, it just don't feel good then

I avoid the latest updates unless something sticks out right away, it's usually full of dumps of some halfwit scribbles. If you have the time and want to find good content, check the favourites of artists you like, they usually add art with the same subject matter and at or around the same skill level.

The Problem with the number would also just let you see bad stuff. Why? Because as mentioned, qantity results in more attention for "spam-Artists" (Bad art but many as fuck) - So they automaticly have more Watcher, which results in more Faves.

So you would just miss new "good" content (from new artists who try to get better but not spam art) and stick to old good content. Plus new "good" content would never reach the "number" of faves to show in the "good" section.

This system with filtering by faves is also not the non-plus ultra. I also seen shitty art with 100+ Faves and good art with <50 faves

I didn't mean to imply that, and agree that you're totally 100% correct.

When I came into the vore community the middle ground of artistic skill was pretty lackluster, and didn't take long to meet and pass by most artists in terms of skill. But then people started popping up out of nowhere that are pretty good, and those that got comfy in their place of popularity in the community and their skill got outpaced.

Same… it's a disaster, and tags don't help to filter out much anymore, I have 10k submissions that hit my tags and I just don't feel like thumbing through them. I just don't have time like I used to. I'm lucky in that as I've gotten better, I check the favorites of those who favorite/watch me. It's been a great boon and I've found a LOT of stuff recent and from looooong time ago. But not everyone has this advantage, and it shouldn't be this difficult.

Small sample size but still, all these pics DESERVED to get filtered if you have any standards at all. Very few pictures his the 100+ threshold which is where you get some quality going. Going for just 50+ nets you 8 results.

The Problem is why bother flicking around on that page. For me it looks like they let it just die, no maintaince what so ever.

Some solutions would be easier to code on the Server-Side than with a hacked together User-Script/Extension.

There are worse bugs, like the fact folders won't delete unless all items are removed. And if a user deletes content you faved, it's still listed as an item in the folder, but you can't see it to remove it.

I wish the tagging/blacklisting system worked better. It is bed because it relies on the user to tag properly; which even I don't do. When I post something I put the basic tags, but the next day there will be a shit ton added.

I have scat on my blacklist but I still see it because some artist don't even tag. They just leave it blank.
