What I meant is that you are socialist in name only. You are a capitalist country in reality. Same really goes for China or Laos, I guess, but I just wanted to ask.

We are on the early stage of capitalism but the commie still keep their political monopoly just like whats happening in china. Most of self-proclaimed communist supporters here actually are just shill for ruling class and care a little to no about worker's condition and right

we are a developing country, so if u want a good working condition, u can go to European country, or America (if you are good enough). And the fact that our economic is doing a pretty good job, according to Goldman Sachs,Vietnamese economy will become the world's 21st-largest by 2025.
Those who bitching about the commie and worker's condition are those who watch too many Hollywood film, and blame the commie for everything. They are like nigger, only want to bitching and blaming instead of working

Nahh, America and EU's working condition are just better than us. But, what can u expect? Like we only at peace recently (1990, after we sign a peace treaty with China), and we are a developing country, not developed. Vietnam is like EU and America in the 50's or 60's.
Heck, look at china now, they are become more and more rich, that can only be explain in the hard working.
Those who fight for democracy, and never work a single job in the whole life have no right to blame anyone.

1) Has any of your grandpoppies served? If so were the bamboo-with-shit and bamboo torture traps effective or just a meme by the communist propaganda minister?
2) Can you talk about an event that did not happen on a square that is definitely not in China or will the government come and ask for papers? Do they even give a shit about the internet at large?

Ahahahaha, this the typical American ignorance type of person.
Do you even know about the conflict in the south china sea, and the fact that we are the ONLY country that dear to face china. (Philippines are just too weak, and they font even have a capable navy to fight china)
Something need to remind you that American is backing us in the conflict (i dont like this, but fuck, we have no choice)

If im not wrong, but i believe that around 19-20% of American's casualties is cause by traps
Traps are not uncommon in both of the war (First and second Indochina war). We know our land, and take advantage out of it (American is not the first to suffer from it)
And yes, both of my Grand fought in the Vietnam war, and one of them even fought in Cambodia and in the Sino-Vietnamese war. I never know about the war, both of them never talk much about the past.

Who else did? Sorry, they never educated us on this matter. I know the French ate their last baguettes there, though.

though out our history, we had face a lot of empire. The Chinese is one of that example. We dont have a big army since we dont have as much population as chinese, so we developed guerrilla warfare. Booby trap, Hit-and-run tactics,…..all of those thing help use…..well, survive though out history.
american believe that modern weapon and massive troop gonna help them win the war. But they never learn our ppl seriously. Like Sun Tzu once said:“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
>Any memorabilia?
no weapon, but some name tag, personal medical box, propaganda leaf,…..
(i once saw that, but when i as them, both of my grand said its at best that i shouldnt touch it. Until now, i never really know why they said that)

He probably meant "don't throw your life away for ideology, unless it's a well paying ideology", so props to your gramps for making it out alive and managing to keep his life intact.
Also not to sound disrespectful to your country but I believe that the Soviet/Vietnamese propaganda and intelligence agencies did more to win the war than all of the combatants involved, since they dealt the critical blow on American soil that made public opinion of the war crumble under hippie influences. Also that part about shooting American soldiers and leaving them to be picked up by suicide squads so that they'd waste ten men to save one was an ingenious, if bastard action.

both of my grand are those type of quite ppl, who never speak when it isnt necessity. I saw a lot of ppl bragging about how bravethey are, but those who understand war the most is those who respect the value of peace.
its a sad thing to see a lot of young ppl disrespect to veteran. How can a ppl of a nation forget it own history in a matter of time like that.
And my Grandfather's brother died in the Sino-Vietnamese war. I still keep his letter and his form, in which he volunteer to join the military. He was a smart guy, but died too young.
I did some investigate about his death, and according to what i collected, he died in a desperate battle with the chinese, was surrounded (since nearly all of his unit died in that battle).
Our family only found his grave in…2008-2009. His grave was an unname one, in a middle of a cemetery (that is located in a remote area), about have of those grave there are unname, or have name, but no one have come to visit it for yeah.
My dad cry a lot that day, its sad to see that.
