Just stating what i considered to be a con. Witcher 1/2 narrative was better even though it was much more linear than 3. 3 suffers from the same open world/freedom so many sandbox games nowadays drop the ball on, where you lose track of the important stuff and get bogged down with stupid side-quests or non-important events which make any sense of urgency or immersion break down once you realize there is no set time limit or coherent narrative when you can just do whatever the fuck. Witcher 1/2 handled it a lot better than 3 is all I'm saying.

That's why Skyrim felt so cramped. Bethesda made it much smaller to compensate for the lack of trees and unique environmental biomes within it's borders because consoles wouldn't be able to handle it. Compared to previous Elder Scrolls games, you will notice maps become smaller and smaller with each game.

Witcher 3 proved to me that if/when they revisit the setting, it should just be Hearts of Stone/Blood and Wine tier acts or episodes. Maybe one overarching plot but its mostly just episodic style. Witcher works best this way.
