I recently joined the Everdrive 64 master race, and now I've got every 64 game and notable rom hack available in HD. Suggestions for what to play, niggers?

I did a tiny bit of mario 64 star road yesterday, it contains 130 stars and is said to be very similar to the original mario 64.

>EWJ3D
Kinda based?
There are lots of things I actually like about EWJ3D and didn't think it was nearly as bad as everyone says it is.
PC version has the better soundtrack although the game seems to play worse on PC than the N64 version.

Was Quest 64 really any good? I played it when I was a single digit aged brainlet and didn't like it at all, but my RPG brain was completely undeveloped.

It got a lot of criticism on the basis that it was about as generic an RPG as they come, while on the Playstation the whole genre was going through a reminiscence. I don't think it was a bad game, as of such. If you have a thing for early FF and DQ, you might get something out of it.

Seems everyone will have the core basics covered like Banjo-Kazooie, Paper Mario, Super Mario 64, so here's one I don't see talked much about, go play Duck Dodgers for N64.

>Earthworm Jim 3d
Based taste. Earthworm Jim 3d isn't nearly as bad as most people make it out to be and it holds up fairly decently even to this day. It does have it's issues, but the level design and core gameplay is all there and can be thoroughly enjoyed if you're able to look past it's flaws.

>Space Station Silicon Valley
Interesting development story, it was developed by DMA Designs, which would have become Rockstar eventually. They also developed Body Harvest. They wanted the game to be a massive open world divided by biomes. They couldn't so they ended making it stage based, but the humor is pretty great and the gimmick of taking over animals is nice, every world is charming, there are gimmicks here and there, and since these are the same guys who developed GTA and Body Harvest, some things are surprisingly obscure in the Space Station, with some missions involving having to gather some dead scientists heads and shit like that.
Honestly, gameplaywise, the game is a bit tedious some times with platforming being a pain in the ass, specially in the fucking Jungle, but not bad enough to hinder the experience.

Rayman 2 was always one of my favourite N64 games, though there are probably better ports you can play now.

How expensive are these things I keep seeing varying prices? Any reason to get them over emulation? Are the vendors trust worthy?

I'm pretty new to the whole N64 romhacking scene. Are there any good Zelda hacks?

>How expensive are these things I keep seeing varying prices?
Everdrives (authentic ones) are fairly expensive. I'm pretty sure the cheapest ones are still over $100.
>are the obscure 64 games on there or is this just a grab bag.
That being said, they don't have a determined amount of games. You put a microsd card into the cartridge. The microsd contains the everdrive OS and however many roms you want organized however you'd like. It's incredible value if you want to play on original hardware with the added benefit of being able to play translations and some rom hacks.
>Any reason to get them over emulation?
Emulation has lots of problems, especially with n64. Too much to list here, but take my word when I say that your gaming experience is always going to be a little bit off when you emulate. Not to mention, it's hard to beat lying on the coach with an official controller rather than sitting at your computer with a shitty after-market usb controller.
>Are the vendors trust worthy?
If you're in the US, your best choice is Stone Age Gamer. They ship fast and use authentic hardware with custom labels. Outside of the US, just order from Krikzz himself at Everdrive.me.
TL;DR everdrives are a luxury item for people who want to have the absolute best gaming experience when playing retro. Get one if you can, but they're by no means necessary.

N64 games on OG hardware kinda suck, blurry as fuck broken AA implementation on most games looks like total shit (even on a good RGB monitor) one good thing is that can be patched out nowadays (still need a flash cart) but that still doesn't fix the terrible sub 30fps dips or god awful textures. (emulators with 60fps patches and texture packs can fix that). I had an N64 when I was a kid but even back then I realized that everything outside of Mario 64, and F-Zero looked and played like shit. (Zelda tittles are borderline)
