Is this a joke?
Anyway, go play justice monster, win 500.000 gold, buy 99 of every potion and phoenix down, every time your character falls out of hp drink anything, when you're drinking potions you and your party members are invulnerable, when you're activating other character skills you're also invulnerable so you might increase skill bar, when you're doing attack together with any partner you're invulnerable, when you're activating your silly villy magic swords you're also invulnerable. Invulnerability can help even with boss AOEs like the Ifrit ones.
Shit game really in a middle feels like its cut down and some episodes feel like they lack story or cutscenes, only good for its cute boys.

I asked how to get good at the combat, not how to grind and heal myself through it. You don't know how to play video games. Like most JRPGS or ARPGS for that matter. You should be able to beat the game without grinding. I think people that suggest grinding as a solution to play the game wrong. If I did as you suggest, I wouldn't learn how to play the game. I like my games to have proper balance, that's the only way I would be able to judge them. That's why modding is so prevalent in jrpgs in particular. Not sure why I would joke about this shit, I'm having a genuine hard time with this games combat. I can beat Ys games on nightmare. This shouldn't be as hard as it is. Not joking.
Though speaking of improvements. If FFXV added an option to auto-path to quests I wouldn't mind it. Having to pick up the controller during these sessions is such a waste when my hands could be occupied with dumbbells.

The combat is basically this all the way through. You’ll never get to the point where your melee damage isn’t actually significant making the later boss battles padded with health a complete slog.
If you want advice. Change the control scheme so the dodge is on a trigger and the attack is on a button, but other then that it’s just about knowing the enemies and having the patience to hold down a button and wait for their life to slowly drain away.
Also, the combat towards the end gets so tedious the developers actually give you a weapon to skip it all together but keep the EXP. they actually knew their shit wasn’t fun.

Also, if you ever run out of revives towards the end you’ll have to start over a large chunk of it. Your party members skills are where the only amount of mediocre damage comes from, and even then the damage that comes from their special attacks are what you’d expect your normal attacks to output. I had all my party members die to a boss, knew it’s pattern, and eventually just gave up as the damage I was doing with one of the best weapons in the game was mere slivers.
I got the game for 5 bucks, went in expecting it to not be perfect, and still walked away feeling like I wasted my time and money. It’s easily one of the worst games I have ever played in my life and I’m sure that’ll become more apparent as you get towards the end. Fucking shit.

Just use the official strategy guide. This game is actually quite decent once you get the hang of things. You DO have the strategy guide right?
