Fallout NV is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi Wild West, pretty much.

It's weird not doing a cowboy rifle/pistol build for that game, you feel so out of place when you start doing crazy shit like a energy weapon build+power armor.
But I guess some people like doing stuff like that, and i've tried it too, it was fun.

This mod was (is) the shit.
Also try the High Noon Drifter mod for Doom. Surprisingly satisfying gunplay but you may want a monster mod as well. It's kinda like Blood if it was more explicitly Wild West instead of Caleb just being a gunslinger out of his element.

What is the ratio of Wild West games in general?
Like say stacked against any other particular setting

fairly low. It takes ambition to make a good game out of what is inherently a brown & bloom setting

This thread's reminded me of a game I played back when it came out in 2005 and had long since forgotten about; Fucking Darkwatch. A game about killing fucking monsters in the old west as a vampire cowboy. So fuck all that shit above me. Go blast some fucking ghouls, monsters and other super natural shit in an over the top, grim and edgy parody of the wild west. Go play some Darkwatch.

Darkwatch is great, looks and plays way better on OG xbox (by miles) stock game is locked to 480i (on all systems) so either you have a good/fast deinterlacer (in your TV or other processor box) or play it on an old CRT TV. alternatively you could find a patch to get it running in native 480p/16:9 (on xbox) but the site that hosted the patch is down.

Yeah, same. I had plans to make a build that would focus on harpoon weapon or play as Caesar's legionnaire but nothing beats good ol' magnum .44, sunny desert and Mojave radio…

I watched "High Plans Drifter" recently, not bad for 70's flick. If you can't stand old movies or just want Neo-Western I would recommend "Bone Tomahawk".
I would also recommend to stay away from "Brothers Sisters" and "Dark Valley" - they're mediocre/okay at best.

Quite the opposite actually, I prefer them. Also grabbing Fistful of Dollars as it looks like that one is pretty highly recommended. Just recently realized how much I liked the genre or maybe I grew into it as I used to find westerns boring.

Try Red Steel 2 if you want for the wii. Very good and stylish action/fps game where you fuck things up with sword and guns. Has a cross between cowboy and samurai aesthetic that works very well and the soundtrack is very western and gets you pumped.

Try the spiritual sequel, ninja-themed one from Konami. It is as good as Sunset Riders.
