Can you name a video game that has a hidden ending you can trigger really early on in the game?
Like Far Cry 4's hidden ending if you sit still for 15 minutes at the dinner table at the beginning of the game.
That's not the only example of an "early ending" in a game, right?

in Chrono Trigger you can get the dev room ending if you beat Lavos at the Ocean Palace, even in the first playthrough before NG+. It's doubtful you'll do it without severe grind though; he's twice as powerful as normal
in NG+ you can go fight him before you even do your first time travel
Cave Story's abandonment ending
the Disaster Report series has occasional abandonment endings
in Golden Sun if you don't agree to take responsibility for saving the world and leave the room you will get a nonstandard game over
in the Metal Max series you can usually decide to stop adventuring any time, take over your dad's shop, marry a nearby girl and settle down, etc. It will then happily talk about all the adventures you're not having

I wouldn't call it an ending, but Snake Rattle and Roll had a warp in the first level that took you to close to the game's ending. Specifically, level 8 in a game that had 10 levels + a final boss. Just had to gun towards the end of the first level to catch a rocket launching.

Persona PSP has a secret second campaign that can only be triggered by investigating the school at the start of the game.
> The Snow Queen Quest is unlocked by performing a number of actions after returning to St. Hermelin High School after the Mikage Hospital, but before leaving through the hole in the wall (which puts the protagonist on the main, or SEBEC, quest)
To go to the Snow Queen Quest:
Talk to the female student (女子生徒) in Class 2-4
Talk to Tsutomu (黒瓜) in the Library on the 3F
Head to the Drama Club (演劇部) at the St. Hermelin Gym on the 1F and talk to the people inside. (Walk through the emergency exit on the 1F, pass through the trash burner in the 1F Passageway, and walk along. You'll enter another map. You'll find an indoor gym, walk around the outside of the gym and you'll find some club rooms at the other end. The Drama Club is at the first door, but also visit the other rooms cause you'll get some extra equipments)
Head back up to the 3F and talk to the people in the Student Council Room (生徒会)
Go downstairs to the 1F and talk to Principal Ooishi (大石校長) in the Principal's Office (校長室)
Now go back to St. Hermelin Gym, go inside the Gym (体育館) and go through the door next to the stage. You'll enter the Gym Storage (倉庫). Take the item, Snow Queen Mask (雪の女王の仮面), from inside the box.
Head back to the 1F Passageway and watch the scene.
Instead of a new ending this basically triggers an whole new game that's nearly as long as the main quest. Because the game encourages you to immediately leave the school, most players end up not even knowing the SQQ exists.
There is also a secret party member that can only be unlocked through certain actions including refusing other party members, who ends up being extremely relevant to the main quest's plot.

Not necessarily. You can meet her, receive her sword and proceed with the SEBEC quest without activating Snow Queen.
Another fun fact is that, although Tamaki was originally the SMTif fem protag, Persona writer Satomi adapted her into an avatar of his real-life celebrity crush Yuki Uchida, who also practiced fencing in high school.
Satomi was an absolute mad lad.

Second Sight has a secret ending/game over. The tutorial at the start of the game has you go through some obstacle and shooting range in some military facility. There's a room that you can enter containing a rifle with live rounds, if you walk around with it someone just takes it away from you and tells you not to fuck around with live ammo, but if you do shoot people up infinite soldiers spawn in until you die, where your character is in an interrogation room being asked what the hell he was doing and your character breaking down in tears saying he has no idea.

I wouldn't call it "really early" but there's the Demon King route in Rance that happens before the main story really kicks off.
At one point, you need to fetch lemons to prevent the demon king showing up. There's timer on display so it's easy to think it's one of those world-ending quests that'll wait for you to finish it, but if you take too long the demon king does show up and immediately takes over a portion of the map.
The demon king's army is basically unbeatable. If the demon king appears in an actual battle (it's not guaranteed) it can instantly kill everyone in your party on the first turn. Right from the get-go you're told to load a save or start a new game because you can't win.
There is a way to beat the demon king's army semi-legitimately though. There are a set of items you can get that will let your units auto-capture territories at the end of each turn. You can have more of those items than the demon king has turns to capture your own territories. What you can do is basically just avoid fighting until fighting is necessary, then save and reload until you end up in a fight that looks winnable.
If you do manage to eventual push the demon king into their final territory and beat them, they call you a cheater and blow up the world. The end.

In Disgaea 2, if you lose to Axel in your first encounter with him, he becomes the main character and your game ends. I think it's in like the first couple chapters of the game.
Nier:Automata had a fuck ton of joke endings that ended the game early. The game had an ability system where you collected computer chips to upgrade your damage or unlock new moves, etc. But you could also remove chips that had important functions like putting the HUD on the screen. If you removed the chip with the operating system for 2B/9S,they just crash and your game ends on the spot..You can do this any time.

Kichikuou Rance has two better examples.
You start that game as the leader of a bandit gang, and this part of the game is basically a tutorial. Normally, this part of the game ends when you end up in a normally unwinnable battle - eventually the Helman authorities wise up to your banditry and then you'll be facing a general with an actual army instead of some crappy city guards. You're supposed to lose, and then Rance barely escapes with his life, ends up in Leazas, and then the real game begins.
However… you can win that battle (even legitimately, if with a lot of grinding and luck). If you do, you'll get a special ending where the enemy general (a woman, of course) is the latest addition to Rance's harem and where Rance's bunch of bandits grow out into the biggest and most notorious bandit gang in the world.
The other secret end is only attainable in the later half of the game. In order to get it, you have to romance the demoness Satella (who will IIRC join you automatically as the main story progresses) and make sure that Sill is not in your party (either wait too long with saving her, or get her turned into a cow by Lia).
At that point, the dormant Demon King, cute little Miki, should be in your care. Once Satella is sufficiently in love with Rance, she will tell Rance that she wants him to become an immortal demon as well so they can always be together. Rance refuses this, because he doesn't want to become a slave to the Demon King. But then Satella tells him that there's a way for him to become the Demon King himself.
If Sill is still in your party, then she'll interrupt this because she suspects that Satella is up to something. But if she isn't, then you'll get a choice between accepting and rejecting Satella's proposal. If you accept, then Rance and Satella will kill the dormant Demon King, Rance will drink its blood, and he'll promptly become the new Demon King.
That one is more of a bad ending more than anything else, though. Rance promptly turns upon all his human friends and allies, and he's stated to be the most brutal Demon King ever. But you do get a brief scene with Kayblis groveling like a pussy before Rance.

In The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall all your quests are timed, it's not like in skyrim or oblivion where they're suspended indefinitely.
Your main quest has a time limit. If you don't deliver the letter you're given at the start in like 60 days you get branded as a traitor to the empire.
This essentially locks you out of the main quest. Meaning none of the multiple endings happen.
