also I really enjoyed the gunplay of FEAR 1, haven't tried most other FPS out there but for the great shooting I think FEAR deserves some place. I was so surprised how fun just shooting is and the comfy atmosphere along with good AI makes some fun moments. Shame it lacks enemy types.

I think enemy variety can end up just being a crutch for uninspired level design and lackluster AI tactics. I'd rather every engagement be exciting and unpredictable instead of my enemies being rock paper scissors.

I would rather be surprised by enemies I've thought I've mastered, rather than mastering every enemy and turning my experience into a song-and-dance battle. I mean, think about when they do introduce new enemies like the security forces and fucking ghost things and how boring they feel compared to the enemies they spent the most time on, the clone soldiers.

I wouldn't mind an actual FEAR 2 with more enemy types like dude but with shotgun, dude but with sniper, dude but fast etc. and the ability to carry more than 3 weapons. Age of Empires 2 is the best RTS. Not much question there, nothing beats the blend of variety and classic, balanced gameplay it provides.
Pokémon HeartGold/SoulSilver is the best monster catcher.
Hyrule Warriors might be the best musou but I wouldn't know since it's the only one I played.
Runescape back in 2007 is the best MMO, hands down.

Let me shill to you, for a second, the greatest MOBA of all time, Heroes of the Storm.

Because all objectives increase the team that wins' ability to push this also makes games shorting, usually ending before 25 minutes or so.
>teams share xp and levels, this means that everyone on a team will always be the same level, and helps keep the game from turning into one where a single hero can steamroll the entire enemy team, while still incentivizing xp gain.
>characters pick talents when they level up rather than buying items. Talents can vary greatly. One talent might greatly improve the range and damage of an ability, one might passively grant you regeneration, etc. Stacking talents in certain ways can greatly change how heroes play. Additionally, there are certain talents called quests where the reward is locked behind doing a certain action, such as taking down enemy heroes, successfully hitting them with an ability, killing enough minions, etc. Often, these quests are repeatable and can become decisive the longer the game goes on.
>Each of the 80 or so heroes has very unique gameplay, here are some examples:
<Leoric
Skeleton King from Diablo. When he dies, he stays on the battlefield and can attack opponents. Attacks will not damage but can slow them and reduce his death timer.
<Abathur
Zerg dude from sc2. Very weak, to the point he always has to hide, but has the ability to plant bombs in the half of the battlefield he's in, and can activate a symbiote in friendly heroes and minions in order to heal them and attack the enemy. Also has a couple of zerg summons that let him siege enemy forts.
<Deathwing
From Warcraft. He's a big bad black dragon who starts with 40% damage reduction and loses 10% of it with every 25% of health lost. He deals double damage to heroes and can't be stunned, slowed, etc. but he's not very nimble, has a big hitbox, and can't receive any kind of aid from his teammates either.
<Cho'Gall
1 abnormally strong hero for the price of two players, he's a two headed ogre warrior-warlock from Warcraft. One player controls the Cho head, along with movements and basic attacks, and the other controls the Gall head and can cast spells using using fel magics. Both players have to cooperate to use him to full potential.
<The Lost Vikings
Yes, those Lost Vikings from Blizzard's early days. They're actually three weak heroes controlled simultaneously, so you need to be a good multitasker to use them effectively. Kind of like playing an RTS while playing a MOBA at the same time.
<Murky
A Murloc from Warcraft. His gimmick is that he's a fairly weak hero, but his death timer is always only five seconds, and his deaths only count as 1/4 of a kill for the enemy team. Can place an egg anywhere on the battlefield that he'll spawn out of when he dies. If he and the egg are both dead at the same time he has a normal death counter instead. Sounds underwhelming but is actually one of the best heroes in the game.
<Xul
Literally just the necromancer from Diablo II balanced for a MOBA. Same voice actor, same design, same character.

Fragile Allegiance.
It is the best and perfect example of a 4X game, and it didn't even realize it.
Everything in it integrates into everything else tightly. There's no single technology that's completely useless, and every other aspect of the game can benefit from them in some way. Spies can have an actual, real impact on the game, from releasing information of enemy bases to deploying neurotoxin agents to alien scum colonies. The expansion is always dynamic because of the depletion of resources, and you are always pushed to explore new territory (and slam the old into those owned by extraterrestrials you don't like). You can even commit diplomatic fraud by agreeing on a non-aggression pact, then fucking with your enemy until they finally snap and pepper you in a massive storm of nukes. Worth it when it results in a 2,000,000 Creds recompense. In fact, the diplomacy is so barebones you might call it nonexistent - but it really is just boiled down to its bare essentials.
You don't need a story. All you need is four asshole space corporations in a tight asteroid mining field and a bit of time.
Oh, and the stock market goods look neat and all the techs have sick fucking animations. So far, I have never seen a snazzier way of disseminating lore than this.
