Hey, as someone who has also played this (46 hours), no one on this board should buy it (in it's current state). I made a thread about this a long time ago with my biggest gripe being the game's current dependency on Discord. Which if I had known about that ahead of time, I wouldn't have bought it.
While planned, the game does not currently have in-game voice chat or matchmaking, which given the nature of the game, means you're putting a fuckton of work and overhead on the player's shoulders. I find this to be limp-dick and pathetic considering that I am following devs right now who have server browsers and user-hosted server functionality in their GRAY BOX alphas.
In terms of content, it's almost there, but not quite. There isn't enough enemy variety to keep the player on their toes. Because all enemies in the game are just variants of melee or ranged.
>Melee sleeper
>Melee big sleeper
>Ranged sleeper
>Ranged big sleeper
>Scout (Which is just a slightly smaller ranged big sleeper It literally uses the ranged enemy model, the only way you'd know it's a scout is because of it shooting out it's feelers with the ability to summon a horde of enemies)
>Spikey melee sleeper (Which does not exist in the currently available missions of the current update The last two missions of this update are locked behind community completion of the prior levels, which means I'll likely never get to play them and is just a reskinned melee sleeper that does more damage and takes less damage from the front)
>Shadows (Just melee sleepers but are invisible and you can only see the shadow they cast, making them the most dangerous thing in the game)
>Hybrid, which is exactly what it sounds like, a sleeper with both melee and ranged capabilities
This is MMO levels of enemy reskins. Where is this enemy from the trailer that seems like it'd function like the Smoker from L4D? Where is any enemy that's really new?
We have a huge variety of guns but not enough enemy variety to make players want to choose one gun over the other. Right now, the only talk your team will have regarding weapons is if someone should bring a Sniper to deal with Scouts.
tl;dr - Don't buy it in it's current state. It lacks basic features of multiplayer games and while it's mission objectives somewhat make up for it, the enemy variety is a real fucking snooze.
