I'll talk about my own shit in subsequent posts so the OP isn't just bloated by my experiences, but to preface it in a nutshell…
I just finished FE7 Hector Hard Mode with increased growths, boy was that a fucking bitch to go through.
And in the last few days, I've been rushing through FE6's hard mode for reasons I'll explain later, but now that I'm halfway through I feel like dropping it in favor of FE4, which I tried the first level on, but holy fuck the first map is fucking huge.

Ancient stuff and it was incomplete, but way back before I even went to cuckchan, there were threads on GameFAQs Fire Emblem-related boards where a writefag held "tournaments" (popularity contests) where he would write-up fight scenes between random FE characters (from the same game, including some minor characters) including intros and results to match the outcome (in what is usually a fight to the death). Unfortunately, most of these threads were before thread archiving, so unless someone archived it externally almost all of it has probably been lost to time.

A lot of people give it high praise. The maps are very big (too much for me), so I'd recommend only playing one chapter at a time. The animations are probably the best in the series. The story is good, especially by FE standards. The less you hear about it in advance, the better.

A depressing end, those kinds of write-ups and fan theories are always a curiosity to me.
I remember reading one about who would win in a battle between Ephraim and Hector, and a discussion broke out.
And some autist came in and said that Ephraim wouldn't take a battle he couldn't win and would come in with a fucking axereaver and that made me laugh my ass off.

>what makes you say that?
There are a lot of great female designs in FE7. To be honest, I could've almost as easily ended up on Priscilla or Isadora, but most of the art of FE7 I've "appreciated" has involved that game's Pegasus sisters, who all have attractive character designs and great outfits, so I've grown an affinity for them. Between the three, I prefer longhair to short hair, so Farina is out. The competition between Florina and Fiora in terms of character design is pretty fierce, but I opted for Fiora mostly because I find her more mature personality to be more tolerable than Florina's demure/androphobic personality.
>>16922888
>Are your choices factoring in the lords?
Yes, but I have a bit of a conscious bias against them because I consider picking lords to generally be a bit boring. Lyn and Eirika are fine waifu choices (strong contenders, but don't quite win out, imo) and Hector, Ephraim, and Ike are fine bro choices. My choices for FE7 and 10 probably would have skewed the other way absent my anti-lord bias.

Very fair point, maybe I'll do that too or at least with a caveat.
>Fiora's personality made her win out
Hm. Unexpected, but understandable enough I suppose.
I myself am put in a bit of an awkward position since at this point I think I have a taste for girls with awful personalities.
Not saying they're my waifus just yet but I have a real fondness for Serra and Farina from that game and I don't think I need to explain the problem with that. It also applies to some rotten girls from other non-FE games as well, I've noticed. Though you're right, FE7 was full of great girls. Very tough competition all around.

FE7, gonna do a writeup on subsequent posts for explaining this
>least favorite game
This one's a bit of a surprise, but FE6. I'll explain in the following post as well.
>waifus
FE6: Lilina by far, but this is a bit awkward to call her my waifu.
More like a niece that I cherish that I need to protect for Hector's sake.
If not her then… I dunno. A lot of FE6 girls sucked ass. Maybe Igrene, or maybe Sue.
FE7: Hard choice, but Lyn for now if including lords. If not… probably a toss-up between Serra and Farina, but Florina is a bit of a wild card.
FE8: Hm. Not a lot of the girls in FE8 made too much impact on me aside from Eirika, L'Arachel and Tana.
Probably Tana because of her looks and she's a princess. Eirika's a bit too soft and into her brother for my tastes. I know they're twins but meh. The whole love hexagon involving those two felt a little… gay, for lack of a better word, for my interests.
>FE13
Cordelia because she's hot and competent.
Severa was a very waifu-able daughter though, more so than even Cordelia if I'm being honest so that was strange.
>FE14
I guess… uh, probably Hinoka? She was the one I waifu'd but meh. I like tomboys, I just wish she had more assets.
Nice enough personality though
>bros
FE6: Gonzales. I like the character type. Ugly giants who get mistreated, but have big hearts. Dieck's cool too.
FE7: Extremely difficult choice since many of the male characters, in my opinions were bros, even some of the enemies I felt wrong for defeating. Hector if we're including lords, otherwise… I dunno. Pent, Hawkeye, Sain, Matthew, Legault, Athos, Wallace, even Jaffar; I mean I can't really choose easily between those. Partially because some of them were so useful in my playthroughs that its hard to separate their usefulness from their in-game personalities and story roles.
FE8: Despite people liking to meme that Ephraim is a bit of a gary stu, he does have a mostly likeable personality, but… I'd probably go with Cormag.
Lloyd and Linus's story was rough to witness in FE7, and it was similar in FE8 with Cormag and Glen so I'm glad I was able to get one of them at least. Innes was okay but a bit of a sperg.
FE13: I guess i liked gregor's personality even though I don't think I ever used him. Similar with Vaike and Virion I guess.
FE14: lol, I got nothing. Just assume a generic answer like a royal or something I guess.

Anyways, to wax on (in my opinion at least) about FE7's brilliance, and the disappointment that FE6 was.
Before anyone asks, I consider FE6 to be (at least in many ways) objectively better than FE13 or FE14 as a game, but the reason I hate FE6 so much is because it disappointed me after I was so excited to play it after FE7. FE13 and 14 I basically had no expectations and basically couldn't be assed to care much about them, period. Its hard to hate something that's beneath your notice and time, but FE6 took all the feelings I had for FE7 and twisted it into an abominable mess.
There are almost too many reasons to love FE7. It was my first FE game, and as a result it was perfect for my beginner ass to TRPGs with Lyn mode, which had a cute little story and was a solid set-up for the rest of the game. The way it handled difficulty was absolutely brilliant in my opinion. The first time through it has a very reasonable difficulty curve with a few spikes to keep you on your toes, but its overall very reasonable for a beginner to handle, but the later modes can be a real bitch. They change up so much with Hector's mode, and Hector Hard Mode, that its brilliant. Not just boosting enemy stats like most FE games tend to do, but changing enemy types (which is huge, a swarm of valkyries with status staves on cog of destiny is a massive fucking difference from the other iterations), starting positions, enemy items, especially enemy volume, new maps, new elements added to existing maps, new and even exclusive characters, additional story not previously seen if you can beat every gaiden chapter on the hardest mode (which is an excellent reward and actually incentivizes pretty much every mode). As a result, it is my most replayed game ever, at… I think I've played it about 8 times now (at least 7) and I still discover new things on every playthrough, like Legault's dialogue with the endgame morph bosses. The overall story was beautiful, strongly told, with a good theme and more to explore if you so chose to. Nearly all the characters range from likeable to loveable (sorry Wil and Erk, you're both bottom-dwelling retard tier though). Eliwood, Hector and Lyn's journey is really something to behold and always touches me by the time I finish, which is surprising since I've played it so many times. There's something beautiful about their friendships, their actions, their sacrifices and suffering, and especially the characters they have to deal with since it isn't just about them of course. So many characters have plot relevance which is quite nice to see.
Nergal is a tragic, brilliantly crafted villain. I can't feel sympathy for him, but I do feel some sort of… pity? Its rough, but strange. They don't go overboard with making him sympathetic as he is clearly a monster, but he's not a mindless one, and he wasn't always one either. There is clearly a struggle going on inside him, and they even use gameplay element to show that.
Plus the map design for FE7 is brilliant when combined with everything. So many side objectives and little things, and really, varied objectives in general make the maps satisfyingly complex without being overbearing, tedious, unfair or unreasonable. In almost every chapter there's more than just the main objective to do, which is nice when the main objective isn't necessarily just "seize".
Plus the animations for FE7, in my opinion are the best in the franchise. Of course, FE6 started this with the bulk of the units so I'll give it a good amount of credit, but I'm mainly referring to the unique ones of FE7 which gives it the edge. The lord's legendary weapon crits, and Lyn's crit are immensely satisfying. Jaffar's silencer ability is also cool as all hell when it procs, and the fact that you get a unique unit in Hawkeye with his sprite, which is far better looking than the fucking vanilla berserker and his shitty godawful animations. But that's a small point at any rate.
Really I like pretty much everything about FE7, there's relatively little I can criticize about it that don't involve mostly small fixes, like support turn counts, maybe an extra tome for magic users that isn't just thunder and fire and elfire, a few changes here and there. Maybe more content, but that's difficult to expect from a game as good as FE7 in my eyes.
Now… to contrast all this with FE6 for my next post.

>Lillina mode with alternate first 7 chapters

Some FE7 spoilers in the images, fair warning
I forgot to mention, FE7's way of handling the tactician role was brilliant.
Your character isn't some god, or has some involved role. You are someone with a more subtle role, simply helping out people who quickly become your friends and you become attached with. Its vastly different to every other avatar that's appeared thus far. Earning Hector's respect and even friendship was quite something to behold. Eliwood's trust and Lyndis's attachment to you feels amazing.
When Hector asks you to watch over his kid and help them someday when war comes and making you his child's godparent, its really a touching fucking moment
FE6 had no such thing, which already pissed me off. I can't be there for my fucking friends and help them, or their kids.
Its the Roy show all day, and Roy is a bland fucking character.
People say Ephraim is a Gary Stu, but Roy might as well be a far worse one.
All he does is win every fucking battle, ridiculously and absurdly against ridiculous odds but everyone takes it as matter-of-fact. No personality worth a damn,. No real character development. Every female character fawns over this boring faggot.
Fucking chapter 8 basically is evidence of this, where before Roy even starts the map, the fucking narration is like
"Castle Ostia… long said to be impregnable, Ironically, Roy would go on to breach its defenses to protect it"
He fucking wins before the map fucking begins.
What is the goddamn point?
And he's too young, he's literally a boy between the age of 12 and 14. No way is he 15 or older, that's for sure. Eliwood, Hector and Lyn leading a comparatively small group was a million times more believable than this silver-spoon faggot doing anything of note or repute that would make him a worthy army commander.
They fucking made Eliwood sick, and essentially killed Hector, the fucking lad off-screen.
What a fucking, goddamn insult.
Lilina is the most redeeming part of the game in my opinion, but she doesn't have the plot relevance she deserves.
The fucking plot of FE6 might as well be "Roy wins… somehow, often after being retarded"
Dude just traipses around on the western isles, comes back and win every battle, and suddenly the lycian army went from ragtag jokes to "very real threat to Bern".
Its almost semi-redeemed by the true ending, but then gives the worst epilogue I have ever seen in any game in my entire life.
Ranges from
>character does extremely mundane thing like build a house or live at home, to fucking disappearing forever.
It was so insulting that I was fucking pissed after I finished binding blade.
That's not even getting into the gameplay, which suffers badly from certain things.
>long maps
this is just annoying, period. But when its a fucking linear set of hallways where you essentially slog through like a child's placemat at a restaurant, its fucking stupid. And there's a lot of those in FE6, pretty much all the gaiden chapters are like that.
This combines with the next point rather nicely.
>ambush reinforcements
This is fucking cancer.
They are pretty much unpredictable in every way, the enemies are often really strong, and the weapons can have triple effectiveness in this game.
You can be at the end of a long, stupid fucking chapter, and suddenly an archer decides to fucking spawn next to your pegasus knight, or a lancereaver merc by your cavs. Or rutger's chapter, where he shows up, and everyone combined with him does just enough damage to kill off any single character, besides sometimes Marcus.
I've had it happen.
Fucking chapter 11A is fucking stupid, spawning it from 2 different locations.
You can't predict the locations, you can't predict the type or strength of units.
Its either A: learn the reinforcements after a restart (because you likely won't survive) or looking it up (trial and error design)
B: take the map extra cautiously and slowly, which goes against the idea of doing it speedily
due to map size it'd be hard to kill the boss quickly without at least some reinforcements popping up

>magic is too OP
Lilina and Lugh can shred this game apart with enemies having no resistance, wyvern riders getting one-rounded or sometimes even one-shot by aircalibur
I'm doing hard-mode right now and my (admittedly speed-blessed) Lilina can one-round almost every enemy, including the boss, on pretty much every map.
The only time I face "difficulty" is when cheap ambush reinforcements kills a weaker unit than them when I'm at the end of the map and I feel like I have to restart
The fact that the game itself is low-accuracy in general, and doesn't seem to have true hit is obnoxious as hell. Nothing like losing units to 2-3 20% hits in a row.
Really when I finished Binding Blade, I feel like I wasted my time to get trolled.
There was plenty of potential in binding blade, but it felt like it was all wasted.
No enemy character besides Zephiel (who didn't do much) stuck with me, and maybe Narcian.
There was maybe half a dozen units worth a damn in FE6 in terms of, like, being a character worth caring about, which is pathetically low for such a huge roster.
Binding blade is what happens when you feel like letting the person who wanted to play as the generic soldiers in a game design the characters.
And the fucking support dialogues, so many of them can be so fucking 'awful. Not funny awful, just awful. FE7 had plenty of comic relief supports, or funny support, which is fine.
FE6 just had so many bad supports.
Like, look at Wendy. She looks like a character that might've been worth something to a designer, if her portrait's quality is to go off of. Not like a fucking Barth, or Dorothy, or that mongoloid Bors.
But then you read her supports, and her entire dialogue can be summed up as "Yeah" or "Yes."
I'm not fucking shitting you or exaggerating, look it fucking up. What was the point of giving her a semi-pretty face if she has no value?
FE6 was fucking more disappointing the more I look into it. God-fucking-damn.
Next to no one likeable. Nonexistent plot, anyone who claims "worldbuilding" is shit because there isn't anyone in this goddamn world worth fucking caring about .The leaders are apparently either nonexistent or retarded or doing some cryptic bullshit. Roy is just going around winning without a care in the world or an ounce of personality or anything.
>guess we won all our battles against the invincible bern on land
>oh no now we gotta go free the slaves on the western isles guys!
>now to go back to the mainland and just… win I guess? That sounds good
>and so it ends….
Who the fuck even did anything in this shitty world anyways.
God-fucking-dan what a waste of time.

Eh I think RNG is important to Fire Emblem as it keeps playthroughs and the overall game quite fresh, it should just be handled carefully and reasonably. Its annoying when you get fucked, but its amazing when you get lucky. I think growth rates can be reasonably handled with a few fail-safes to prevent you from getting fucked (In fact I think the games added that where it rolls twice if you would've gotten a "0 stats grown per level" level up, otherwise the game could become too static in my opinion and characters couldn't be used certain ways.
>>16923006
All of these are great ideas, I agree with all of these except for maybe making Roy a passive bonus boy.

Oh, and I'll say one more thing
FE7 tried very hard to make FE6 make sense and not be as shit as it did, or give characters meaning and reasons to care about them and whatnot.
All sorts of shit.
Why should you give a fuck about Hector in FE6 if you play it without FE7? What meaning does he have, or his death? Fucking nothing, but with FE7's context in mind, it matters a fucking lot all of a sudden.
Only problem now is, it didn't matter enough in FE6 to treat it with respect.
If Hector was such a great leader of Lycia, why did Ostia have a rebellion immediately after his death? Being "scared" shouldn't fucking cut it as a sole reason, that's fucking weak. But FE7 gives a strong, reasonable reason for this to be the case in a hector hard mode chapter.
Why would Laus betray the league? FE7 gives a good reason, and makes it actually have meaning for FE6.
Ironically though, FE6 had no meaning for itself. So try as FE7 might, it couldn't fix that FE6 didn't seem to fucking care for all the shit it threw at you.
FE7 also gives a lot to Zephiel as well in terms of backstory. In FE6 he's a cryptic weirdo with only one goal and almost no presence.
The only time ever fucking did anything was chapter 13, essentially. (Which was a good chapter I'll admit).
FE7 just tries so hard to add so much logic and foundation to FE6 that it either didn't have, or took for granted or assumed like it was no big deal when it should've been a much bigger deal.
Honestly, as a result FE7 suffers a bit from being connected to the meaningless shitpile that is FE6.
It tried so hard to make a bad game good.
I can tell you pretty much everything Eliwood, Lyn and Hector as well as a bunch of characters from FE7 did. I couldn't tell you if Roy did fucking anything at all, ever besides win with every challenge he was faced against "somehow" (that's where you come in apparently). Where is the struggle, where is the interesting actions taken? You could maybe argue at the beginning he was playing a little catch-up with Bern but conveniently the princess falls into his lap and he happens to win every fight too, and just when he might face someone too dangerous for him, he gets saved once, only to go do more retarded things but still win every time and do his cute little stupid spin-off shenanigans in the western isles.
God I hate FE6.

FE3, if you count the books as separate things then obviously book 2.
I honestly like the SNES games the best from most perspectives; its just that the other two despite being "grander" have more issues.
>least favorite game
Well i've actually had the experience of playing fates rev so i think thats self explanatory.
Non-DLCsince rev could be considered that wise awakening, not particularly shocking but in terms of any value it had it still was pretty bad.
Like the 3DS era outside of Echoes was pretty much all sandbox in a way, but fates does manage to improve in a lot of places.i'll take a story bad from the start for better sandbox
>I feel like dropping it in favor of FE4, which I tried the first level on, but holy fuck the first map is fucking huge.
4 is a very odd, its very daunting looking but most maps do have the enemy density; its not giant dead periods but instead just a huge sense of scale.people like to say the former is an issue though
Still kinda weird to keep track of but FE4 was never meant to be average FE. Which is super bemusing to see being commonly brought up in regards to it.
What the hell would be the point of neutering these unique FEs to make them just another game. I don't think i'd like another sacred stones, gaiden feels like a much more worthwhile thing.
Probably should make arenas more than just "do it when you can" though i suppose. Also it'd be nice to explore the castle since that was the intention.and to have siege maps for enemy ones
Like you can improve FE4 drastically without neutering it.
>>16923001
While i do have multiple issues with FE7, its certainly not game ruiningthough lyn mode sucks to play if you already understand how to play
Also Eliwood and Hector sure as shit did not need to be separate routes. They really don't change enough, its like TH with its church CF and Blue lion routes.
mind you in THs case, it would have made more sense to just cannibalize GD for church, GD as a route barely fits with the rest
>>16923126
The point of roy is that he's mediocre at fighting anyway, he's only ever good when he has the sword. In story he's not meant to be an amazing fighter and his stats reflect it.
Thats just how roy is. GBA sword lords are all kinda bad, but roy has nothing going for him besides a personal he gets insanely late.
Obviously post personal he practically murders every thing in his path.

There's already a bunch of lords that are top tier combat units in their own right. Making Roy a master swordsman is the easy, boring, way to make him useful.

In terms of story, gameplay, the sprites and characters, it's pretty good. Sacred stones has better gameplay but not as great a story.

In terms, it broke the series. The buddy up system makes combat really easy and it did casualise the series.

Well I'm a bit late but let me share my autism seeing as everyone else is doing it.
>Favorite game
FE4. The maps are big and it can be daunting at first but I really found it to be the most enjoyable experience the series had. I enjoyed everything about it, if you're put off by the large maps don't forget that you can save at the start of any turn as long as you haven't moved anyone yet so there's no real reason to commit to playing a whole map or even a whole objective in one sitting.

I borrowed Fates from a friend and I can't fucking believe how bad it is. Holy shit Birthright deserves to rot in a special circle of hell.

How are the 3DS games? I was toying with the idea of buying a New 2DS XL as long as you can still get them new, but I don't want any games that use gimmicks or have DLC or Amibo faggotry in them. I guess that excludes 90% of the 3DS games library.

I would have to go with either 9 or 10, but only with combat animations off. I haven't played them in a long time, but my gut feeling says 10, it just felt grander and more packed.

Echoes is great tor good, depending on how much you appreciate its faithfullness or how much of a mapfag you areassuming you never played the old game nor care if it's a remake Mila's turnwheel is quite iffy at best.
>Awakening
Meh at best but the second generation of characters was great in their short stories. Udo / Owain and Cynthia were fucking great. <Fire Emblem Warriors
Better framerate on switch, but really it's just a themed Dynasty Warriors. You're really not going to get much out of it if you're not a fan of the Awakening/if shit(IIRC, they only added Lyn because of a poll on their mobile game where she won 1st place). Really the best part about it is it kept that Nami Komoru away from Echoes, making it a much better game as a result.

TH is a bit odd, i'd say its what you'd expect coming off of the FE3 remake and echoes; a decent story strangled by avatar dick sucking and a over abundance of worthless elements.seriously, while its overshadowed the flood of "missing characters" in the remake was a terrible decision
Fates seems to have been a case of pulling on random elements and then pulling on other elements to see what worked better. Echoes is moreso its relative gameplay wise, even the modified Fates type skill system doesn't seem that far off from Echoes.
TH is softer because while some elements of fates were accepted, it was polarizing enough that they figured out what they could cut. Though i say that with how the FE3 remake nearly killed the series yet its main gimmick carried over so eh.
Don't count on IS being intelligent, they'll probably shit the bed again sooner or later.at least echoes shows they won't mutilate unique games like gaiden for remakes; so those probably have a low chance of bedshit
>>16923732
>Meh at best
It starts off this way but ends up on par with fates really, well birthrights highpoints at least. It ends on par with average birthright, which is to say horrible in every way.
Game kinda just crashes and burns during its third arc. Walhart/Gangrel function okay as villains.
>If / Fate
While this is mostly the case, i must state that conquest is actually decent from a gameplay perspective; its the only real version of fates where "just turn off the voices and skip cutscenes" actually gives you a decent game.
Because fates has a fetish for gimmick hell maps probably as a result of trying to alleviate awakenings flaw of 9000 hallway maps. IF is very much a sequel to Awakening and thats probably what totally kills it.
It tries to fix a lot of flaws from it in strange ways instead of just regaining systems that older titles had that fixed those problems.
I have to wonder if there were any drafts of the story where they didn't make the horrible choice of making the "main choice" super lopsided, also what was the third choice before it was a DLC?
They can't have really intended a golden route in the base game right? I suppose if there were more choices it might make more sense but hm.

Objective Ranking of All the FE Games
1st- FE Mystery of the Emblem: Who would’ve thought the most basic fundamental iteration would be the best.
2nd- FE Awakening: Who would’ve thought the most structured and retrofitted iteration of the series would be the 2nd best.
3rd- Fire Emblem 64: All Gen 2 games suck, it was a good 15th anniversary for the series. Fitting that the top 3 are all Mystery or MoE good clones.
4th- Elm Kaiser, and the Holy Sword: This game was meant to be a good game. As much as I don’t like this game, it is one of the objectively good games. If you’re a real fan of the series I shouldn’t have to explain my esoteric references. I miss Keisuke Terasaki.
5th- FE NEW Mystery: It’s a retrofit. 20th anniversary and best anniversary gift to date.
6th- FE Light Stone of the Holy Demon: All Gen 2 games suck, in hindsight after making 4 games year after year they were bound to get better.
7th- FE NEW Dark Dragon: It’s a retrofit.
8th- FE FEng Shui- The school stuff is miserable. Scenario design is an inconsistent mess, event design is the best in the series. It’s a shame the best parts are in the last 1/4 of the game.
9th- FE The Sword of Flame: All Gen 2 games suck, it’s book 1 of MoE, but bad. A very average bland game.
10th- FE The Sealed Sword: All Gen 2 games suck, it’s book 2 of MoE, but bad. Fitting that a clone of Marth and MoE is bad.
11th- FE Dawn Goddess: All Gen 2 games suck, when Fire Emblem games stray too far from the basic formula it gets bad.
12th- FE 20th anniversary of Der Langrisser on the Super Famicom: If this game wasn’t commercially exploited or succumbed to corporate cynicism, I’m certain it would’ve been the best in the series. This game is a large part of the modern trend in Fire Emblem.
13th- FE Echoes: Awww a 25 year old remake of the worst game in the series, how thoughtful of you. “B-b-b-but there’s no waifu faggotry, s-s-so it’s kino-based-kino-based.
14th- FE Dark Dragon and the Sword of Light: So when the SFC was almost out you were still playing FC games. How embarrassing, good thing there’s nothing worse than this.
15th- FE TRACK-KEY-YAH seven-seven-six: It pains me how bad this game is. It’s a huge favorite of mine and friends, but it is what it is. Also stop saying this game is hard, stop sucking at 1-Player board game against computer AI. Also stop pronouncing this games name wrong. Use google you illiterate fucks.
16th- FE Side Story: It’s kinda sad that the directors for the Shining series and Langrisser series have both been documented in articles to make fun of Fire Emblem and the creator. Boy, it sure would be funny if the 3rd game in the series was the best, “saved the franchise”, and sold better than Mother 2, Super Metroid, and just as well as Star Fox and became well regarded as the longest lasting Simulation Game series. Cementing the 3rd game as the best and most recognized game in its series.
Bear in mind that all of this is based on core gameplay and structure. Scenario Design, planning, and structure of the mechanics. I’m a minority that only plays fir the gameplay. Garbage like story, feels, animations, and characters is not for me. If that’s your thing, do your thing. Stuff like that doesn’t affect the game in any way.

>Favorite Games
Awakening, FE 64, and If (Black edition), and TRACK-KEY-YAH (I wish it wasn't so bad) are my favorites.
>Least favorites
The Sword of Flame, Dawn Goddess, and Feng Shui (even though I really love the story and characters of the Blue path).
>Playing right now
I do RAW Lunatic runs of Dark Night, Awakening challenges, and Feng Shui
>Kind of runs
RAW Lunatic runs. Just going chapter to chapter ignoring all non-gameplay. Currently in Awakening using only 12 units, no children, no CCQC, no wireless/DLC. Doing same for Feng Shui, no school stuff, no using renown or doing quests. I've already done a full comprehensive guide on RAW Lunatic Dark Night.
>Favorite Characters
I like the BKAs, hey're my favorite archetype with Camus being my favorite and Dimitri being my second favorite in the series. Also my reasoning for picking the Blue path and Dark Night kingdom.
My favorite female characters are Tiki and Anna as mascots for the series. My S-Supports have been Smia, Aqua, Ingrit, Leonie, and Petra. I just like the Sheeda archetype and canon wife of the main character.
>Fun bad stuff
I'm not allowed to play those.
>Fun byproducts
There's too much to talk about, but I do enjoy seeing fanart on nipper twitter. The more you stray from the japanese fanbase things get weird.
Overall I'm disappointed in the 30th anniversary, but that was expected. I haven't enjoyed the mis/understanding/handling/treatment, of the series since 2015 with the 25th anniversary series. Which is what motivated me to apply for IntSys as a planner and meet the staff and talk with them online or in person. That's probably why I know the ins and outs and esoteric knowledge of the series' history. I'm glad the series isn't dead or the Simulation Game genre, but I wish it could improve and I'd like to see and be the change in the series. Happy 30th!
