I bought both games during the Black Friday sale last year. While I admire the art style, everything else about the first game seems lackluster in comparison. Is the second game any different? They're both sitting in my backlog at the moment. I'm also aware of the server for the PS4 version of Gravity Rush 2 is also being shut down soon.

It's already shutdown. If you have an exploitable PS4, 5.05 and below last I checked, then you can unlock all the online stuff and pre-order outfit with save editing or importing another user's save file and re-signing it to your profile.

I don't think there should be one. I really doubt they could pull it off without massively fucking it up, or having Sony start interfering in order to improve it's marketability.
At the very best, I think the most you could hope for is a VR Gravity Rush game. Something that can be easily ignored if it fucks up, and something that is more geared to exploring mechanical improvements/adaptations - yet doesn't have the pressure of sales pushing it to be a mass-market success.

That's the real reason to not want a GR3. GR2 was already tampered with- the entire "poor (and entirely colored) population must rise up against their rich (and entirely white) oppressors" substory shit was tiresome from start to finish. The gameplay itself was an improvement over GR1 and the main storyline was a nice continuation of the first, so overall it was worth it, but GR3 would get completely pozzed.

Since the Raven dlc's title contained "another story" and how fast Sony wanted to can the game's online, I bet they had more story/episode expansions planned but Sony put a stop to that. I'll bet my left nut they had a Durga Angel or Delta team episode planned too. But until modders discover playable data for either duo, that's likely just wishful thinking on my part. Playing as Kali would have been great though, the heavy impact of Jupiter style combined the the distance leaping of Lunar.
Speaking of modders, is there anything cool being done with the game? Last I saw it's nothing but model switches and noHUD mods.

You can find treasure boxes (they look like big apples) even in singleplayer but they're extremely rare and probably spawn randomly. Realistically you'd have to hack your PS4.

Anyway, i'll just say that Cai sucked as a villain and had no purpose besides the slap scene and the novelty of the final antagonist being a kid, when the game even gives hints of the real evil using him, so if the game had more chapters or screentime for him, we could have seen him traumatized and regretful of what he went through
If they ever make a new game, and i do mean IF, they could find a way to "redeem" Cai, not just because he was evil but because they used him like shit, which is probably why Kali is the most popular character
They could establish Cai being regretful of his actions, the shit that corrupted him, how even Eto hates his ass, if he ever decides to follow Kat's steps or do something to make it up for his fuck ups
He'd either try to work around his redemption and grew as a character or at least have Kat try to fix him up
Xicero would have made more sense if he was the antagonist
They should have made Cai either an actual evil disguised as a kid that actually died beforehand or establish him as a tragic carrier/puppet of the actual villain and focus on that aspect
