So on April 1st https://www.crysis.com/ was updated with an animation of the opening scene from Crysis 1 and today this tweet. How long until they announce the remake? Should we expect the eternal turkroach to fuck it up completely?

I can't wait for a Crysis remake that looks worse and is less technically accomplished than the original from 2007.

I expect suit powers to be "streamlined" to hell and back by being turned into context sensitive actions only.

North Koreans are deemed too similar to Chinese and are now changed to white people.

I'm sick of remakes, especially because most of them are worse than the original.

My bet is on remastered trilogy for PS4 and Xbone, doesn't require a lot of effort, will probably make some money, might refresh the IP in the minds of people. Doubt it's going to be Crysis 4 or a new game in the franchise.

If it's a remake with consoles in mind it will be shit, if it's a sequel with consoles in mind it will be shit.

Did anyone care about this game other than being a graphics benchmark?

The first was enjoyable for flinging koreans around as not-Predator.

It wont be a proper remake unless almost no one can run it on high settings. The only people who should be able to runt he highest settings should have dropped at least 3k into their PC. no console version naturally. Anything less regardless of what else they do not will not be a true remake.

Playing as predator was fun. And playing on the hardest difficulty so you have to use every feature was pretty great, especially since enemies spoke actual Korean (so I didn't know what they were saying) and you only had enemies on radar if you'd tagged them with binoculars and stuff.

I actually liked the aliens. It's one of the few games where the aliens felt actually alien, no just blue/green bipeds with teeth, and it got super alien getting onto their ship where gravity goes fucky.

I could actually see it happening considering the raytracing tech demo they had. Perhaps partnering with AMD and Microcock to make it. They'd be one of the few studios that would be able to make something that could really sell raytracing.

The only reason Crysis requires a beast of a PC is because of shit optimization. It's STILL a pain in the ass to get 60fps on it.

It's part of the reason why it still chugs lke a bitch unless you have a CPU with a high clock rate.
It isn't the only reason though like that faggot is pretending.

I don't remember Crysis being an actually good game, wasn't it just a big empty open world tech demo?

Anyone who says Crysis was a bad game either didn't play it and fell for the memes or played like a boring faggot. It was probably one of the last shooters to actually allow you some freedom in how you play the game. It felt very open if you got good with the suit.

Hunt: Showdown looks significantly worse than Crysis 3. So what makes anyone think they can make a proper Crysis sequel? Half the point of this franchise is to completely roflstomp on competition visuals and tech-wise. This requires a lot of money and a lot of talented developers - something that Crytek doesn't have. The other half is fun nonrestrictive gameplay. Something Crysis stopped having since the release of 2.
So, again, why would anyone get excited over this? I'm personally against a new Crysis game, because there's a 99% chance it will suck donkey dick gameplay-wise and will be utterly mediocre visuals-wise.
They won't push physics to a new standard, they won't render grass and shadows 300+ meters away from the player, they won't add bumpmapping, they won't add sharp textures, they won't improve enemy AI and they won't improve the real-time lighting.

The reason Crysis runs like trash is because it was designed to run on dual-cores. The devs thought dual-core CPUs would be a thing for years to come and they even expected 6Ghz dual-cores to become the norm of high-end CPUs soon after the game's release.
That is why no matter what beast CPU you use on Crysis nowadays, it fucking refuses to use more than 2 cores. It loads 90% of the workload on 1 core and 10% on a second, leaving the rest pretty much idle.
>got any proof?
I read it somewhere, so no I can't provide a source on what the devs themselves said on this matter. But looking at benchmarks and playing the game myself, I too noticed that the game didn't use more than 2 cores, ever.

>be super soldier with predator suit
<Gooks still kill you with 3 shots
This is why I could never enjoy Crysis. If you make a game where the player is overpowered, balance it by making him have overpowered enemies. Prototype does this right, the basic soldiers can't do shit to you but in the late game you're often fighting multiple helicopters, tanks and anti mutant units at once.
