But there would never be a contract for this because the sales of a game are not guaranteed. It seems to me that game developers are mostly incredibly naive. Glad I pirated it but it is a shame. This is probably the best shooter on the current market, disappointingly enough, and while the story is awful due to overall bland characters (it is literally the soyboy version of japanese otaku wish fulfillment writing) the weapon and enemy variety is pretty good.
My fondest wish would be for all the devs to leave Gearbox en masse and start up their own game development studio minus the writers. A Timesplitters game with Borderlands' variable weapons mechanics (minus shit-fucking retarded leveled loot and skill tree progression) would be amazing.
