Currently playing through Yakuza 0, Samurai Western and Serious Sam TFE in preperation for Serious Sam 4.
Yakuza 0 is sweet but Kiryu's business is boring as shit compared to Majima's.
Samurai Western is quite nice and it's stoking me up for Ghostrunner, it's barely related but going through gunmen with nothing but an overgrown knife and sweet dodging skills is something I enjoy

DooT Eternal. It's alright I guess but nothing I'll probably replay or can recommend to anyone.
Considering reinstalling Serious Sam Fusion for that Duke 3D and DooT Eternal total conversions. My biggest problem with it is the tiny ammo count and the subsequent emphasis on the chainsaw, but the combat and movement is good(enough) and the scenery is purdy.
I'll be giving One Step from Eden a shot once it releases, and hopefully Creeper World 4 and Serious Sam 4 aren't on hold because of Corona.

It's okay. Probably should have the dash ability a lot sooner though. If you crank FoV to maximum it makes it seem much faster that it is. There are moments when nuDOOM 2020 takes a lot of visual and level layout cues from Quake III Arena with a focus on movement. It's visually impressive with clearly a lot of work put into it, but because it bastardizes the DOOM franchise with unwanted changes it will be viewed the same as Quake Champions which did the same.

Alpha Centurai off and on. I'm not very good at it but I have a decent grasp of the mechanics for having taught myself cold. I struggle to keep up when my empire gets too large and the camera teleporting around the map in later turn cycles, with only a split second devoted to some events, makes it very difficult to track whats going on. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Maybe I'm just a dunce and missed a tab that would more clearly lay out events and help me track my cities more closely.

I'll probably play this game until it dies off. The gameplay has aged so well, that no other team shooter can even compete with it, both in depth or accessibility. The artstyle is a timeless classic (until they ruined it) and continues to stand out in crowd of Fortnite-lookalike toon graphics. But the real reason to stick around is for the lads who are still devoted into this aging ship. It may not have the same creative spark the community had during the early 2010s, but i'll be damned if i say that the amount of fan content this game received is sparse. That's how much memetic energy of TF2 has.
Fun Fact: This game has been around longer as a Free to Play team shooter compared to when it is still a $20 game.

Gave Overlord one more try and it's a bit less shit than I remember it. I had dropped it at the part where your minions start dancing and get killed by an endless onslaught of fighters and after relearning the controls I realized that I need to leave the minions to die instead of trying to defend them and just spawn new ones from elsewhere. The sluglike walking speed becomes less of a problem once you realize what shortcuts take you to where you want to go and once you get past the dancing section you finally unlock another type of minion. Once you get the fire minions the other two kinds of minions are unlocked easily and the fire and water minions have some interesting combat gimmicks. The gimmicks of the green ones seem pretty shitty. The stealth ability clashes with the flanking ability because they attack anything entering their designated zone, dropping stealth and losing flanking bonus because enemies don't approach things while walking backwards. The red ones also need a lot of annoying to micromanagement because they die from a sneeze and need to be kept away from enemies. I wish there was a way to tell your selected group to attack a single enemy at once because I've never see an enemy being targeted by my whole squad. It's also pretty weak that they give you a throne and then don't even let you sit in it. Overall the game has almost none of the features that made Pikmin engaging. The very low minion cap, though upgradeable, makes the loss of minions more impactful, but I feel like encounters were designed in a way that loss of minions is easy to avoid (that's why that section with the dancing minions threw me off so much). I'm going to play on and see whether the combat with all types of minions is actually interesting and if there are bosses that aren't complete shit.
On another note I'd like to replay Unreal and Quake again sometime soon. There's something timeless about those games and I love them both.

Giving the Trials of Mana demo a try, albeit completely blind. Ended up choosing a mish-mash of Charlotte, Duran, and Riesz in that order and just now found out that you need to play the full game at least six times to get the full story. Aside from that, enjoying it so far but I wonder if armor has any use if you get good enough to not get hit. This IS an action RPG after all.

I'v Beat Halo 4,5, and 3 on legendary in that order, meaning I finally got around to beating them all. I'm still going to delve deeper into the PC MCC Reach and CE, and i'm going to save replaying ODST for when it makes it's way to PC.
But for now I'm going to play the Marathon trilogy, right away text of the 2 AI's in Marathon 1 is more compelling then most of what was in Halo 3, since that game felt like it was just trying up loose ends to concepts that were more interesting when introduced in Halo 1 or 2, and wrapping up the trilogy rather then actually being an interesting story on it's own.
But ether way I like imposing on myself having to earn the right to ware the security helmet, by making sure I understanding the significance of marathon and the security officer, when I get back to playing some Reach.

I had access to them, Just wanted to get them out of the way, I gave them a fair chance, I can honestly say the newer weapons, enemies, and the Mantis. where neat enough that I don't particularly regret much about playing them, the only real parts I would say are "Just plain old Shit" in 4 and 5, is how the Didact in 4 is beaten just by a limp dick grenade to the chest button prompt, and the fact you have to fight the fucking Warden 7 god damn times in Halo 5, and on single-player legendary he's more of a nuance due to his insta-kill attacks then he is actually interesting to fight.
The rest of the gameplay, it's fine, not great, not awful, just good enough I guess. I mostly just want to be caught up, if anything out of Halo Infinite actually ends up being a little interesting, since they are taking there sweet ass time with it.

Playing the Devil May Cry series, went through 1, 2, 3, now on 4. Just finished Koudelka.
I appreciated the horror themeing,monster design and historical setting. Backgrounds tend to look pleasingly morbid and imposing when they're not.Music was generally underwhelming, but the ambient noise was decently used. Combat was generally bad,but weapons had a huge effect on stats,making leveling less of a pain as long as you generally invested things right. Leveling weapons felt annoying and tedious, thank god they dropped that shit in Shadow Hearts. The thing that made it tedious was how slow it was.
Character interaction was surprisingly entertaining and the friction the main characters had between eachother provided some fun banter. The completely average english voice acting and the dated look of the cutscenes didn't allow me to take much of it seriously, but the notes you could pick up and read were surprisingly eerie.
Playing through the whole thing made me curious as of how the series would have been like if it hadn't dropped it's horror vibe after Covenant and onward.

For some reason decided to run Dying Light for the first time.
It's pretty much as boring, as you would expect from a zombie game, exp is slower to gain than in actual MMO and not much is going on in the open-world.

Problem is that to get any decent sort of physical damage and magical damage you have to constantly level proficiency or use the same weapon.Coupled with the equipment being drop based and shit kills any want to actually have variety in your weapon choices.Drop based equipment also forces you to grind to get any decent equipment you wont likely need considering how actually easy the game is once you get your shit together and level. By the end of the game I just had Koudelka tear everything a new asshole with Magic .Only enemy to kick my ass was the Gargoyle,and even that faggot got fucked by scrolls that were easily grindable. Positioning never really played a purpose besides keeping your back-line safe from meele attackers.
It's tedious more than difficult and with the slow pace of combat it just gets annoying that you have to pick the same spells solely to level them to get decent AoE potential/meele damage or have to waste a turn to switch weapons after they break.

Judgement ring was just a QTE to make sure your attacks actually hit and added a bit of a risk factor if you wanted to go for broke.It was neat and added a somewhat live decision, as well as providing some good visual flare with the stronger attacks.

If you recall, there was also a rating score for your game among all shadow hearts titles which was impacted by your accuracy of the judgement ring. Your items also made the target areas larger or small too. Having painstakingly gone through all three games getting a perfect score, I can say that there was no special ending or congrats for doing so, though the younger, more retarded me, was certain there would be.

I've been playing S.L.A.I.: Steel Lancer Arena International for the PS2
If you like mech brawlers give this a shot. Matches are very fast-paced and long-term strategies revolves around securing resource drops like quake.
THERE ARE NO REGENERATING SHIELDS/HEALTH/AMMO SO PLAY SMART OR GET RAPED. REPAIRING PARTS IS SO FUCKING EXPENSIVE YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO LEAVE MATCHES BEFORE THAT EVEN HAPPENS, AND IF YOU FUCKING DIE IN AN EARLY MATCH, YOU BETTER LOAD A SAFE FILE OR START A NEW GAME BUDDY BECAUSE YOU WON'T HAVE ANY MONEY LEFT.
You've got five manufacturers to pick from.
Kojima (Proton): featherweight otaku mechs, the only ones that can use a sword. The sword is the only melee weapon with a wide swing attack (AFAIK). A lot of people beat the game by customizing the sword to max dmg and killing almost everything in one hit. Better warm up your asshole though cause' you'll be clinching it every match, all match long, since you're technically a mosquito. There are other viable and less-cheesy options for this manufacturer though.
OMST (KHT): lightweight slav mechs, pitched as long-ranged specialists. Generally, if you're going to be a sniper you'll want to camp at the highest point of the map and wait for a supply drop or for someone to uncloak, then jump down, cloak and try to keep mechs beyond arm's length.
Ventuno (Carro): middleweight spaghetti mechs. These are well-rounded, so there's more leeway in strategy. A popular one is to get a shotgun (customize for damage/weight) and pretend you're the town sheriff and everyone in the arena is a nigger.

They have two melee options off the bat: a heavy-hitting acid cutter (works like a pile driver) and an EMP taser that disables cloaking if you land the hit. Going to try maxing out dmg on the taser, with a light rifle on the other hand and see how that works.
American Stars (Hartman): ultra-heavyweight 'MURRICAH mechs. These are fucking tanks with firepower comparable to H-bombs. The problem is that they move like snails, and flanking is the predominant strategy for most if not all mechs, since everyone takes massive damage if you hit them in the back. If you've got the balls, go right ahead.
All manufacturers have a lot of room to play with, even if they only have about 4-6 arm weapons and 4-6 shoulder weapon options, since each of those can be tuned for speed or power. Same applies to legs, which have different carrying capacities, top speeds, turning speeds, stability (how long you're a sitting duck after dodging/jumping), dodge length, …
You can't mix manufacturer parts, once you pick a body you have to use that manufacturer's stuff.
If you're good enough you can get sponsored by the manufacturers themselves as long as you keep using the same manufacturer's mechs and killing 10+ people every match without losing twice in a row. In order to get sponsored in the first place, you have to beat a challenge match with at least 15 kills, something kind of impossible early game.
You should are encouraged to buy an AI chip that increases your stats, movement, cloaking and fighting capabilities. These chips are often specialized (missiles, long-range bullets, melee, defense, etc.) and will grow as you use them. Repair them often because they take damage too and will wear out, at which point you have to transfer them to a new chip (costs about 40k).
Chips have different personalities and will act as your "voice" during story events.
Protips:
If you're not cloaking, you're dead kiddo.
You don't have to kill everyone in a ranking in the same match, just keep coming back and the boss will eventually show up when you've killed everyone else at least once.
Don't even try to go past rank C in whatever city you pick to begin with before you heavily customize your mech and figure out your playstyle. You have been warned.
Every city has a different arena map, with different strats being favored. Keep this in mind, but it is still doable to stick to one thing and make it work everywhere, it'll just be harder.

Trying State of Decay 2 because i liked the original well enough for what it was, but god damn did they really go insane with their gay BLACKED obsession. Almost every fucking character in the game so far are fucking black, save for a pair of lesbians, and a white woman. Hell, even the fucking mexicans characters are just niggers larping. and even worse, the starting area is now a linear hallway, with certain mechanics stripped away(Holding shift to search faster no longer seems to alarm the zombies) whereas the original was a big open area for you to explore and prepare you for the game.
Good thing i didn't pay for this shit.

You stay in the arena, and every enemy has a name. There are three of them in with you at any one time, when you kill one another one comes in from one of three gates, the same gates used to leave the arena. The one that comes will come from the list of people in that town and of that rank that you have not killed. At some point you'll see enemies with skulls next to their names, that means you have killed them already. If you've paid attention so far you'll know that as soon as you see a skull, you've at most two other enemies to kill before the boss shows up. Kill the boss, and you get to walk away with his title.

Been just going through my backlog, since I'm taking my first vacation in four years. Currently I've beaten

Not much, but I also barely play any vidya on a normal day.
Distance is pretty fun, I find myself switching POV in it at certain points, since it's easier to control your midair orientation in first person, than third (controls are absolute instead of relative.)
Gato is okay. It's speedrun bait, right down to the achievement for beating it being "Save the Animals." What you'd expect when I call it "speedrun bait" is basically how it is.
Spark 2 is great fun, if a bit short and not that engaging on a second playthrough if you can't figure out how to magnet dash (I haven't yet.)
Steamworld Dig 2 is fucking incredible, even if there's bits of pozzing here and there in it. The hookshot alone makes it worth it if you liked the first, but then the other upgrades are just as great.
SRB2 is fun for the first three zones. Don't bother with anything from Arid Canyon onward, that's where the polishing of levels stopped, and only the visuals/music were polished. It's full of bottomless pits, traps that fling you into them, and stupidly precise platforming like the engine is fucking Project Hero's or some shit, when you can't even look down to line up a jump on standard controls. Not to mention it's DOOM, so looking down kinda breaks the graphics anyway.
I'm planning on getting through Postal 2's Paradise Lost campaign, and then I guess playing some more of Infinifactory and going through my anime/manga backlog with Summer Wars and Berserk.
Shit's pretty nice overall, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't starting to get ready to just get back to work at my job and projects, like normal, at this point. And I've still got like 5 days left.

Played through nuDoom Eternal. Hated it.
Played a bit of Traiblazer wad on random maps I found on my hard drive. Had a blast.
Played Wolcen. Major disappointment, worst part is how boring it is to play.
Played a bit of Darksiders 3. Made another dent in my table with the controller. My brain just isn't wired to enjoy these types of games. I understand that it's supposed to be methodical combat, but when I get killed by trash mobs 3 times in a row because I didn't hit that dodge sweet spot, I lose all patience. When I can read a particular boss telegraph his attacks and act accordingly, but some animations just aren't as fast as I envisioned them in my head… No. Just no.
Played Spider-Man the Movie game without camera controls. So much fun, even if it very short. So many memories with that game.
Now I'm trying out Last Epoch, a diablo clicker I've only glanced at before because it's in early access. Seems really nice. I don't know what it is, but I have a good feeling about it. Maybe it's because my eyes aren't bleeding from over-saturated colors like in Darksiders and nuDoom. I really like the artstyle behind Darksiders, Joe Madureira kicks ass I'm up to 4 permanent skeletons, 1 permanent golem, 5 timed blood skellies bound to my "blink" skill and 1 timed revenant summon when I hit 50% HP. I can level up to summon at least 4 more permanent skeletons, at least 1 more golem, and probably 5 timed Blood wraiths.

I heard it was bad but I wanted to give it a fair shot; I went through the first disc, didn't bother with the brown lady. To give the game credit, it looks pretty good graphically at points and the enemy designs were fun, but that doesn't excuse the horrible gameplay. Really, the Helicopter fight is a good representation of DMC2 since most bosses and enemies avoid the player and fly off to do their own businesses, really I'd say that's a bigger problem than the high-powered guns. The only good fight in the game is the very final boss because it actually fights aggressively and has a bunch of different moves. It's a shame it's preceded by the worst boss in the game which is literally a half-baked heap of recycled content.

Marvel ultimate alliance 3, it's a 20 dollar game they are charging 60 for. Team ninja made it and they just made a fucking 3d brawler similar to that die hard arcade game. It's not that bad since pirating on a switch is fucking easy. but the retarded camera and nuheroes that cry oppression (yes, the word oppressed is actually used) makes me glad I didn't pay a shekle, which is sad since there is some decent comic book style writing in the game. For fuck sake, the rpg side is just dumping points into one of the only four moves your heroes will learn and a sphere grid like tree that has very little payoff for actually using it, I actually forgot it existed for two acts of the game it was that useless.
tl;dr
Marvel ult alliance 3 is a 5/10. Shit camera and flippant writing kills an otherwise okay game but it's no diablo clone.

After playing F.E.A.R I had a hankering for some slo-mo shooters so I downloaded Stranglehold. It's absurd, but pretty fun. Having to entirely repeat the game to go through the different routes to get an actual grasp of the story was something of a hassle. I just finished Solatorobo: Red the Hunter. It is a solid game up until the ending that turns into generic JRPG "We must kill God and become masters of our own destiny." type ending. Getting existential felt out of place with the rest of the game's cute and comfy tones. The second villain should've been like the first, meaning a generic evil lord who wants to rule the world with ancient lost secrets and technology. Or have the second villain not exist in the first place and continue with the first villain instead. It has a post game where NPC's act like the player defeated the final boss, which is always a cool touch in RPG's. But not cool enough for me to want to continue playing to 100% completion. Doubly so with Trials of Mana releasing in three days. Trials of Mana will be the next game I play. I'll probably spend the next three days with something that's easy for me to be okay with putting away without finishing it, like watching a Let's Play series.

I played the entirety of VA-11 HALL-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action in one setting and i've enjoyed it a lot.
