After watching a speed run of the game and it looking surprisingly decent, especially compared to most of the shit I’ve seen on it, I decided to look up some nip user reviews of Death Stranding and was surprised to find they were overwhelmingly positive. Now normally nips are as critical as we are with vidya, so I want to know from anons who actually beat it, was this game misjudged by the western audience or is this a bit of nepotism from the Japanese audience?

Death stranding is shit, imagine barefoot euro truck simulator (scandinavia, death stranding is modeled after Iceland though) with dumbed down mechanics of offloading cargo, and every 3 hours of braindead deliveries you get a 3dpd netflix adaptation of Evangelion.
Sam Bridges, and the game itself is kojima's self-insert story of how bad he had, how isolated he has become but he had frens (hollywood B-tier child molesters) and it all turned out great.
Everything about the setting, the meta narrative and gameplay is retarded or unfun.

This is the one I saw. It looks pretty fun if you don’t play it at a careful pace. It really picked up once he got the motorcycle and was goin fast avoiding the rocks and terrain that would slow him down. Meanwhile most of the footage I’ve seen makes the motorcycle look completely useless.

Japan is not some magical oracle of good taste. Nor is this board. And the western audience did get it wrong. Sheep clamoring to either suck the game's dick for being 3deep or to shit it on it without having the first clue about it. It's a unique interesting time with some classic Kojima silliness. The gameplay loop is very satisfying and will suck you in, but you'll probably tire of it before the game is finished unless you never take a pause to smell the roses as it were.
